    Chalupa or tostada?
    Sonya D.

I ordered the Chalupa Platter, then was brought out a plate with two hard flat round corn tortillas topped with lettuce, guacamole and tomatoes. I.E. tostadas. I pointed this out to the server. She told me that was the Chalupa Platter and even brought me the menu to point out my order. I grew up surrounded by Mexican immigrants, therefore have had a lot of Mexican food. I never before was served just tostadas. But according to Wikipedia they can resemble each other. Okay ... But it def tasted just like a tostada. I was disappointed. Keep this in mind if you ever want to order a Chalupa here. You'll pretty much get a tostada.. Also, I got a raspberry margarita. It tasted kinda watered down. My friend's strawberry margarita was tasty though. Hit or miss I guess?

Best in Mexican food in town. Service is always friendly and you can't beat the prices. They have great guac, crispy tacos (my favorite) and margaritas. We like taking home a bag of the cinnamon crisps too!

This place was just ok , the food wasn't anything special. I've had much better Mexican food in my life time. This place is great if you're really hungry and you want to eat something just to eat, but I wasn't too crazy for it.

I had the Monterey and I loved it. I'll have it again, I just wish they had guacamole all the time

Lopez will not let you down!!! This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in miles! Staff is friendly, prompt and the best way to start off your meal is with their great Margaritas that they always make to perfection- I am picky too! The chips and salsa are good while enjoying your drink then a must to try different things and on the menu. We have never been disappointed! The place is small and quaint, nothing at all fancy yet the decor, drinks, food and service makes the whole experience worth going! Kudos and next time we come through Atchison we will be back!

As this was the last meal of our vacay we wanted Mexican, especially since our son just started eating tacos, very plain meat and cheese but hey, that's a start of exploring different foods other than McDonald's that we use to have to get him while we sat and ate our meal. I wanted him to like decent home made stuff too and this was definitely the place. Service was friendly and prompted. We were greeted within seconds and seated right away. She handed us menu's, chips, and salsa then asked us what to drink. I asked about the jalapeño margarita but she wasn't sure how spicey it was. So recommended the traditional but I was a bit of a risk taker and so glad I did. It was delish. We ordered and got our food soon after. Soooo good. We all devoured it. Waitress kept checking on us and I really liked that the taco were closed up with the meat and cheese so it wasn't as messy for my son. We payed for it after and my son totally admired the flags that were hung cuz they were from Coco the movie that he loves. Yup. Good choice for sure.

There are only two places that I will eat Mexican food from in this town, and this is one of them…read more The serving staff has always, without fail, been nothing short of friendly and extremely accommodating. And while you will find the usual familiar favorites on the menu, you will find a plethora of things not commonly seen in your standard Tex-Mex restaurants. This is a great place if you've wanted to try more authentic food, but aren't quite ready to abandon old familiar favorites entirely. The decor is lively and bright, reminding me so much of places back where I am from. You can tell a lot about a place by the way the staff interacts with one another as well, and there seems to be a strong sense of camaraderie among them. Always clean, the prices are decent and you will not come away hungry. Seriously, for dinner, why bother going to any other place?

Just had an ap, two street tacos, and a top shelf margarita. Delicious! The queso with chorizo was LOADED with chorizo. Tacos were delicious. And the margarita...... well, the large will get you there. Definitely tasty and more authentic than many other 'Mexican' restaurants I have been to around the country.

I've eaten there for years, but one of my recent stops made me realize it's more than just the food. Please read on.... An immigrant showed me friendship in food, even though I was a stranger. The place was packed and the only open table was where the workers sit. I was by myself, but one of the restaurant workers came up with her lunch and gestured to me if she could sit at the table. I smiled and said "Si." I noticed she was eating birria tacos with consomme and it looked delicious. She saw me and laughed, said something in Spanish which I think translated into "Would you like some birria and consomme?" I nodded yes and she went back to the kitchen and returned with a small container. You can tell from the video the broth was rich, the birria was tender and fatty (but in the best way)! I tried to convey to her it was great and thank you. She asked me something in Spanish and I could only respond in a gringo "Que'?" I finally used Google Translate and she was asking if I worked nearby. I was dressed in my blue collar clothes! I used the App to tell her I drove in from my part of town and she smiled and laughed. I think she understood how much I loved eating at Don Antonios, because I would drive at least 25 minutes to eat there. If she only knew I'm there every week! This experience reinforced what I already knew. Immigrants are kind and caring people. Just like my grandparents when they arrived in America before WWII. I also know what my family and I have experienced when you don't look like the majority.... Just my two cents and a tip of the hat to an immigrant who showed me friendship in food, even though I was a stranger.
