I yelped Auto centers this morning, looking for a place to get an oil change and this place came up first. When I drove up immediately felt that I did not have my wallet on me and I dreaded having to drive back and the plus the place looked closed from the outside. To my Saturday delight, I interacted with an employee there named Jimmy, who was so helpful and explaining that they took tap payment and how long I had to wait until my car was serviced. He was so pleasant to speak to while I waited, and we shared stories about our careers and just being born and raised in Brooklyn, before I knew it my car was finished! I paid and I was done in less than 20 minutes. A mechanic was even gracious enough to back it out of the shop into oncoming traffic, which I was scared to do! Definitely will be back to this neighborhood gem. Go here!! read more

The shop I went to for an oil change confiscated both my oil change equipment and my tools, claiming they had damaged them while servicing my car. No professional mechanic should handle things that carelessly. I expected better service and honesty. The man with the glasses was especially unprofessional and unreliable. Went bc my engine overheated light was on and I brought my own coolant then all of a sudden I had no oil and to do the job he charged me $400 overcharge plus he told me they used half of the coolant I brought an I went back to the shop and asked for the rest of my coolant all of a sudden they claimed they used it all in my truck and gave me bck an empty container I never will go back again read more

Last night, I hit a pothole and bottomed out hard enough that I damaged the splash guard underneath our car. There was no way my wife could get to work with a big plastic piece hanging down and scraping the ground, so I brought the car to Lopez Auto Repair. The garage was busy, but they were able to fit me in and had the car fixed and ready to go in less than two hours, and they charged me a very reasonable $50 for the repair. Lopez has been in business around here for about 40-50 years. He is a good mechanic stands by his work and will come and get you if he does the work and your car breaks down and if it is not too far, and you don't have AAA, he will tow your car back to the garage. All of my family use Lopez since the 70's and thank goodness he is right here in the neighborhood. My car was making a loud grinding noise and shaking when I accelerate. I took it 2 different auto repair shops, one who had done previous work on my car, and both told me right away it was my transmission. My car being a 1996 with 150k mileage and check engine light on, I figured yeah, transmission. One gave me a quote of 1100 and the other 950, with the highest one coming from the shop that had worked on my car before. Anywho, mindfully I decided to get a third quote. I mean, why not right? 3 is a good number of options. So I spoke to my friend Yvonne at work who had recently gotten some work done on her car, and she recommended I go to her shop, Lopez Auto Repair. I called them up the next day, told them I needed a transmission, they asked me what kind of car and gave me a quote for 900! Excited about the lowest quote I had gotten thus far, I took my car in and first thing Lopez did was drive my car to experience the symptoms for himself (the first two shops did not do this). I kid you not guys, nothing was wrong with my transmission. The problem ended up being a hole in my exhaust pipe and computer needed reprogramming. I got everything done for less than $400. They even fixed my broken door handles. I picked up my car and was immediately pleased. She ran so smooth and quiet, felt like a different car altogether.
