Came here for an inspection on a Saturday. Drove around to 3 other shops first, and they either said I need to come really early on a week day (like 6-7 AM), or they wanted me to book an appointment for weeks out. When I called G&E, they said no problem come right in. Inspection was fair priced, and was finished within 20-30 minutes of me stepping in the door. I was back on the road in no time. So where do I begin?.. besides the fact that the lady in the front desk is always very unhappy and grumpy she also always chew on food in your face! i washed my car there many times and I can clearly say that they're cleaning is not even close to be good and when you ask them if they can work on a spot that for your opinion they have missed they would pretty much ignore you until you ask numerous times and eventually somebody will come with a dirty piece of cloth and wipe it off. One time I even lost my back wiper blade in the machine so they took the trouble to look for it.. they didn't find it and moved on, nobody offered me any compensation except for: "sorry sir" so eventually I had to buy new blades for almost $30 after poorly washing my car for $9. I recommend you to look for another place to wash your car! read more

Brought my car in for inspection. The owner drives it up the ramp while I pay for the services inside. They want to get my information to put in their system like my registration which is weird already. Fine, no problem it's not a big deal. When I step outside with the receipt of payment for my inspection. The owner had turned off my car at the time and was having trouble staring the car back up. He tried to boost start my car with his battery pack, didn't work.. luckily I had one I always keep in the car and used it to start my vehicle. The car had no battery issues while I was driving it. Since the car was jump started after an initial fail to start, he still began to continue the inspection by plugging the OBD II reader. When the battery fully dies or the car gets a OBD code wipe, it usually means that the readiness were most likely all wiped and needed a drive cycle. Funny enough they have postings on the wall stating so that if cars needed drive cycles it would cost extra if they did it. I wonder why they had to even post those up there. So my vehicle fails inspection instantly due to the readiness being incomplete. Knowing that it was going to fail, since the car didn't start back up, why not provide a remedy to help your customers instead of cheating them. This was the owner, there's no way someone who has a auto repair business and a inspection station would not know what a dead battery would do during inspection. I took a gamble by bringing my car there because Salernos was busy. I'm never doing that again. The only thing G&E ever will be good at is ripping people off. read more

They fixed my car, but it was a rip off as they did expensive work that was unnecessary. My battery had died and jumping it wasn't working - it wouldn't stay on even while connected to another battery. I had it towed to G&E for repairs on a Saturday afternoon about a week ago. Sunday I got a call with an estimate for $1200. I was extremely busy at the moment hosting a BBQ for 18 people and asked them to email me a breakdown of the price that I could review that evening. He told me he was unable to do that as he too was at a BBQ, but that he had 2 guys at the shop who didn't have anything to do and they could get started right away, but only if I approve the estimate. In a frenzy, I said ok. On Monday I received another call that they didn't realize that the battery and breaks also needed repairs, which would bring my total to $1579. (So what was the original estimate of $1200 for? The battery is why I took it in for repairs!) I was at work and again, unable to talk for very long. He again told me he could not email me a breakdown of the estimate, but said the car would not run if they didn't fix the battery, and that it would be dangerous if I didn't fix the breaks. So again I told them to do what needed to be done to make it run. When I picked up my car that evening (the only plus - they work fast!!) I was told the total due was $1759 before tax. I asked why the price kept rising, and oops - he must have accidentally inverted the 5 and 7 when he quoted me $1579 on the phone. I was so frustrated. The woman at the desk was not very nice, and the manager got very pushy about everything. He also said "I used the best of the best parts, and that can add up." I told him I felt that that was also unfair as I wasn't given an option as to whether I wanted high end, name brand parts or less expensive ones. I was given a free car wash certificate (I had asked them to wash it while they had it, but they didn't) and rushed out the door. When I got home and looked over the paperwork, I saw $650 of my bill was for a new a/c compressor - but there hadn't been an issue with my a/c! It went in for a battery issue but they quoted me $1200 without having even checked the battery, as that was an 'unexpected issue they ran into the next day.' WTF?! The owner texted me the next day to ask how the car was running and I told him my concern about the price, the A/c compressor, etc, and he has not responded. I will be going back to get an explanation. read more

I haven't had expensive work done here so I cannot comment on their repairs. But I have been in for routine maintenance and found them to be very good. The lot is small so getting in and out is a tight squeeze, but the staff are very friendly and helpful. They offer lots of services including car wash, state inspections, insurance inspections, etc., and they work to get you in and out quickly. My state inspection was done in 30 minutes. I would return to G&E if I need some other work done on my car. read more

Don't go here if you need a NYS inspection. First off if you are not Latin, expect to wait for anyone that speaks Spanish to go before you. Anyways 2 hours later inspection passed but since the mechanic hooked up the computer wrong they couldn't give me the sticker. I first came here to get my NYS inspection done on my car. The reason I will return is because of Benjamin! His friendly and helpful service makes me feel like I'm not being swindled because I'm a woman, which is something I have encountered at other auto repair shops. I got new tires for what seems like a reasonable price and when I got a flat soon after (not because of the quality of the tires, but because my street always has junk all over it and a nail punctured the tire), he fixed it for free (first time is free, he said). Take this for what it's worth as all I had done here was a photo inspection. I had one done last year somewhere else. The guy was rude, condescending, dismissive, insisted I stay inside while he inspect it, then insisted I sign it saying I'd reviewed it, before he'd let me review it. Come to find out he reported a spot of dirt on the bumper as damage, then refused to do anything about it & told me not to worry about it. The insurance inspection done at G&E was great. I was there with him the whole time, answering questions, showing him the mileage, and when I asked to see the report before I signed, he went back to the first page & let me review it. Much nicer about it. Their lot was small, cramped, and crowded, but that's about par for the course in town. The lot looked new, and they have a waiting room with air conditioning. read more

This place is on point! I have a 2001 Explorer with over 200K miles and it needed new wheel hub, tie rods and rear brakes done. I also had the tires rotated and NYS inspection. They knocked it all out in one day! It included a free car wash, but it was crazy busy, so I took a pass for a free wash another day. I found G & E via yelp so I thought I'd just add to the good review, as I've just recently had a good experience. Gus is really friendly and he made sure everything was taken care of on my car. The price seemed really reasonable... I always find mechanics slightly intimidating in that I'm not always sure if I'm getting a fair price. In this case, they fixed something on my Honda Civic similar to a problem I had before that another mechanic had fixed, and here they charged me MUCH less but did virtually the same job. They were quick and really kind, and the people who worked there seemed pretty happy, which in my book is always a good sign. And they're open 7 days a week. read more

Please beware of this place!! We took our Jeep here for an inspection and they left the vice grips on a hose that controls the pressure in the gas tank.. I'm guessing so that we would not pass the inspection and come back to let them rip us off. Little did they know that I'm from Tennessee and have been working and driving in Jeeps from the age of 14! I went to get gas the next day and when the tank spit out gas in my face , I knew something was wrong. I look under the jeep and there were the vice grips... So perfectly "left" on the right spot to fuck us. I guess they thought we were a bunch of "idiot hipsters" that wouldn't recognize a bunch of shady assfucks. hello yes I purchased a vehicle with G&e motors about six months ago I've been taking my vehicle back-and-forth to the dealership ever since I purchased it with minor issues and when first got the car I let them know that it did not drive properly I was unsure of exactly what the problem was they kept giving me the runaround letting me know it's OK to drive just wait until the problem gets worse they never identify what the problem was I had to go on my own to identify what the problem was which it is A major problem with my engine which is soon to give out I purchased a vehicle six months ago I really explain to them that I needed this vehicle to get back-and-forth to work it is my only way of transportation to support me and my daughter I am a single mother with no help I clean houses all over the Mercer county and Philadelphia area I carry all of my cleaning supplies inside of this vehicle when they finally decided to let me bring my car to get maintenance for the issue that I've been complaining about for months it was no longer under warranty which I've called their office to get my warranty many times they sent me a link when I first purchased the vehicle with my warranty that was expired by the time I tried to go check it out I was asking them for my warranty for months they have never sent it I still do not have my warranty till this day I would have at least been able to get an extended warranty I wasn't even able to do that they prolong the problem just So they did not have to fix it they were not honest disloyal and definitely not trustworthy when I met them they seen that I was vulnerable and really in need of a vehicle and they took advantage I have contacted the US general attorney because i've had the car six months going back-and-forth trying to get them to fix the issue and they never even told me what was wrong with it they continue to tell me we'll change the oil and I've currently driven the car 16,000 miles and my warranty was 12,000 miles In the entire time I was taking my car back-and-forth to get maintenance from them they even gave me new brakes that never stop squeaking I was loyal to them I even referred people to them I'm really confused and stuck but I will get through this I never give up if I were you I would never shop here I would never get maintenance here they are money hungry and they pray on the weak read more

Quick service with OK prices. The only issue I had was the woman who works at the desk is a bit rude and speaks very poor English making communicating with her pretty difficult. Overall I had a pretty good experience with them however if you drive anything that isn't a basic US car you may have an issue with parts there. I drive a mini Cooper and they had to go outside to find an oil filter for an oil change. I'd recommend calling ahead to make sure they have what you need and to find out the wait time because they can get busy in the afternoons. read more

I live in the area which sucks because I have to walk past these guys everyday. And after they botched what should have been a relatively simple job I always am reminded of the situation. I had been in a fender bender and after they promised that it would take no more than a week to ten days, it took almost a month to get my car back. Always an excuse, never returned my calls. I wound up taking my car back and bringing it somewhere else where they turned it around in a week, dealt with my insurance, etc. Look past the fake 4 and 5 star reviews to the ones below and you'll get a more accurate picture of how bad this guy is.
