Get the Pizzas - both Veggie & Canadian very good. Cocktail decent strength, bartenders know what they are doing, friendly and fun. Definitely local spot but everyone was smiling on busy Friday nite. Will return if back in town. read more

This was a site for sore eyes after stopping in the smoke filled corner bar 100 ft from this places front door. We were greeted by a spirited bartender who was funny and very efficient. Drink prices were very reasonable but the food prices were incredibly cheap. We shared nachos that were like $3.50 and 50 cents for each topping. We added taco meat, chicken, jalapeños and black olives. They were super good. We ordered a pizza to take back to our Air BnB after some beers and good conversation with a few local patrons. Stopped in Friday night and the place was hopin! Luckily they serve food late (ordered at 915). We were starving, I ordered too much, but they had perfect to go boxes! We actually left another place because they weren't serving food. They didn't have a huge menu, but it has enough good food to pick from. You order from a paper menu, you turn it in and watch the counter thing for your # to appear! My friends and I ordered Tacos (ehh, would skip next time), pretzel bites/queso, and 2 pizzas. The food was great, the pizza crust was delicious, a mix of stl style (hard thin crust) with the perfect amount of Fluffy dough iron tip. Yumm! The bartenders were nice, friendly and fast. There was a dance floor with jukebox music, my friends and I had a blast dancing, even if we were some of the oldest there! 10 outta 10 recommend! Is this place dive-y or a dive? It's a dive, but it could be way worse. I didn't know this until I passed through, but Missouri still allows smoking in bars, so Loose Caboose could easily be a smoke filled place that would I would probably rate lower. I didn't have the food, kitchen was closed by the time we decided to make one last stop but I was surprised that their beer selection, had a lot of local, craft options, that's another nice surprise. I usually don't like good beer wasted in plastic cups but it actually fit the vibe here and I even took mine with me. Another feature of dive bars, karaoke! I was there on a Friday night so since I had enough liquid courage in me I actually went up there and despite me being a lone Lemonhead in a Vanilla saltwater taffy (you figure out my metaphor,) I was just as welcomed as anyone else coming up to the mike. read more

It's a nightclub. And as a nightclub it's probably fine if you're drunk. We didn't dare try the food. It is pretty dirty. We went during a Saturday afternoon and to be fair, most clubs don't look so hot during the day. We all had drinks which were fast and strong, but this is a beer kinda bar. There is no table service. The private room area was extremely dirty. I would save this for the end of the night when you are really buzzed and just looking to drink and dance. read more

I think we came on the wrong night. Cute little place. Everything is self serve for food. The staff was very nice and the food was delicious. We had fried chicken, fried biscuits, cheesy corn, and fried pickles. You order at the bar, paper plates and plastic forks are set out on a bar with condiments. I guess it just wasn't very warm and inviting. It's a bar. They serve food. Not many choices of food but the food they have is good. It seems like there is Karaoke and bingo on some nights. Do yourself a favor, go to the Loose Caboose!! Myself and several other girlfriends had a weekend trip to Hermann and this was by far our favorite bar! It was so clean, great atmosphere, and a great variety of drinks. They also have an awesome late night food menu with delicious pizza!!! The staff was so accommodating and friendly that we found ourselves there several times throughout the weekend. I know it's slightly off the beaten path but I promise you will not be disappointed. read more

This is the most fun bar in Hermann. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Theres plenty of bathrooms and they are cleaned regularly. The pizza has always been a favorite of ours and is very fairly priced. Theres usually a good crowd on the weekends downstairs and a lot of guests like to dance here. Upstairs has a cool barn loft feel to it and the new fried chicken shack is a cool idea. We tried the fried chicken strips and they were insanely good. Everytime we get a chance to grab a drink we head to the Caboose! read more

It's a dive bar. We went for lunch; after much scrutiny, we chose this because it was rated the 2nd best in Hermann, after the distillery on the river. The distillery was very expensive, so this seems like a nice, inexpensive alternative. I suggest getting the pizza, if you go, not the pork or chicken sandwich. The sandwiches were on a fat white bread hot dog bun with bland stringy meat stuffed inside, with a side of bbq sauce. Chips were just plain from a bag. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good, and it was cheap. Wine was cheap, too, but was Woodbridge; not a very good brand. There are really attractive places that are probably a LOT better. Also, only choices, if I recall correctly, were the sandwiches and the pizza. Won't be back. read more

Food was sub par. Pizza had little flavor. Beef was mushy on pizza. Nachos had cold cheese. They add a 3% service fee which they don't tell you about. You need to look at your check closely. On a positive note it appears clean inside. read more

This place was awesome. Kathy (Cathy?) the manager was super friendly and made us feel safe and welcome. Even with the Oktoberfest crowd service was quick. Came into town for a bachelorette party weekend at the wineries so I was hopeful we could find somewhere to dance at some point this weekend. Loose Caboose definitely delivered! They have a great jukebox and enough room to actually dance. They also had a pool table and bags/cornhole and darts to keep people entertained who didn't want to dance. The bartender, Kathy, was great. She was fun, accommodating, efficient and friendly. No one got a meal but we did get several orders of the pretzel bites and nachos. Both were delicious and perfect snacks to help keep up our energy on the dance floor. The white cheese sauce that comes with the pretzels and I believe is on the nachos was amazing. I was tempted to drink the rest of it like a shot but don't worry, I didn't because I'm classy. My only disappointment is that LC is in Hermann and not St. Louis but I will definitely be back next time I'm in the area. read more

Really glad we stumbled upon this place. We've been coming to Hermann for years, and we haven't found anything quite like this. There's dartboards, corn-hole, and a drop down screen with sports. The pizza was FANTASTIC. We chose a large with bacon, pulled pork, jalapeños, pineapple,and extra cheese- topped with a BBQ drizzle. It was AMAZING. The bartender was very knowledgeable- even considering our divided tastes. He made me a really great low sugar vodka soda cocktail. What a pleasant surprise! We had no idea this place existed - so glad we found it! We stopped in here for a beer and pizza after the wine tour. Pizza was delicious - nice, crisp crust and an amazing tomato sauce. Beverages were great while we watched our KC Chiefs! Awesome tv's and atmosphere for the game.
