Do yourself a favor and check this place out! Here in Chippewa Falls for the weekend with friends and decided to check out Loopy's last night and we all had a great time! Our server, Sawyer, was absolutely awesome. Super fast service (even when the place was packed) and great food. Our table got another round of drinks sent to us & we can't figure out who sent them! We had a very large group, we contacted them a few weeks in advance to make a reservation. They were easy to reach and very accommodating. On the day of the event we discovered they offered shuttles from our hotel - genius on their part because they became the designated driver and our bar tabs were a little higher. They had our seats ready, two rock star servers to take our orders and Loopy stopped by to say hello. The food was great, the prices were very reasonable, service was stellar and the volleyball dome was AMAZING! I play in a volleyball league at Loopy's and therefore I am typically there at least once a week. The food at Loopy's is standard American pub fare, and it's typically very good. I recommend the hand-tossed pizza, heaping mound of beef nachos, and the Friday fish fry. Fish tacos are delicious, and the BLT, featuring a full pound of bacon, is great. Prices are competitive, and portions are generous. The service is usually good, however Friday nights can get busy and from time-to-time you might be there opposite a party. The staff is always friendly, and the job Donna does is outstanding. One thing that really sets Loopy's apart from a generic hunting-lodge type establishment is the setting. Loopy's is situated above the banks of the Chippewa River, and a large deck and fully-stocked tiki bar provide a breathtaking view of the water and the wildlife that inhabit it. Bald Eagles are a common sight. On Saturday afternoons from May thru October Loopy's is a common destination for wedding parties to stop in for lunch or drinks and a chance to get their picture taken on the riverbank and in the giant Leinenkugel's Adirondack chair. I have observed Loopy's to be a great place for out-of-town youth teams playing in local tournaments to stop for lunch or dinner. There's a lot of room to spread out. The three volleyball courts and several bean-bag toss games will keep the young entertained while the less-motivated can relax around the fire ring or picnic table with a cold one. There is also a large party tent, so rain isn't something you need to plan around and shade is available. Jimmy Buffett would feel right at home there, even if he had his kids' little-league team along. (Hammock not included.) In the summer months Loopy also offers shuttles and equipment to canoe, kayak, or tube-float the Chippewa River. I have two young sons and can verify that it is family-friendly, although one time we did paddle away from a group to avoid listening to their colorful language. Showers are available onsite. A word of advice: Call ahead and ask about the river conditions; the power utility controls the dam and the float can get slow sometimes. A 2-1/2 to 3-1/2 hour trip is fairly typical. FATFAR is a big float party that takes place on Father's Day. I've never been able to justify leaving my family to do this, but it sounds like a lot of unwholesome fun. (I don't believe that this event that is appropriate for anyone under 21.) When the weather turns cold, something really awesome and unique happens. A GIANT FABRIC DOME is set-up and inflated right over the volleyball courts, tiki bar, and deck area! It is climate controlled with heat provided by underground hot water, which makes the sand feel warm on your feet! In addition to leagues on Sunday-Thursday nights, Loopy hosts several volleyball tournaments on Saturdays, otherwise the courts are generally available for open play - if you are bringing a group call ahead so they know to turn the heat on. Sunday football at Loopy's leans toward being adult-oriented. You can watch the Packers and usually the Bears and Vikings, and the Bloody Marys are outstanding; served with sausage, cheese, and other garnish they are almost a meal unto themselves. There is usually a free buffet served at halftime. For big games he sets up a projector and large screen in the dome, but the regular bar has plenty of televisions so there really isn't a bad seat in the house. Overall Loopy's is a fun place. In addition to very good food and service, the site and amenities make it a great year-round destination for visiting families as well as people passing thru the area. Access to Loopy's is easy, especially from Wisconsin Highway 29 or US Highway 53. Look for the yellow signs with red lettering. read more

Atmosphere: It's good for just about anybody. This bar has a small town feel to it but at the same time everybody is just about friendly. Amenities: Loopies does do a kayak rental here so you can take a float along the banks of the Chippewa river. In the winter, they have volleyball court under an inflatable cloth hearted by geothermal. Food: The food here is very good. I would highly recommend their pizza or burgers and yes, their fries are delicious. They pretty much have everything you can think of on their menu and all of it is delicious. Sports: As you may imagine, football Sundays can be quite busy, especially during a Packers game but you might also be able to catch the Bears or Vikings playing. Accessibility: You can easily get to this place of highway 53 but getting here from highway 29 could be a bit harder. Overall: I would give this place 5 stars. Great food, staff. My friends and I go here every summer to float and the shuttle service and tube rental is great so we decided to try getting dinner here after an afternoon at the local wineries and the service and food was so terrible it was almost comedic. We made the mistake of ordering food at the tiki bar in the dome. The waitresses/bartenders were more concerned with the male patrons at the other end of the bar than anyone else took 30 mins to get a menu and a drink, asked for a water a total of 5 times and never received it, ordered an appetizer that we never received, asked for a napkin ketchup and ranch 3 times before we got the ketchup (no ranch or napkins though) and it took 45 mins for them to bring our quesadillas out which had obviously been sitting around for at least 30 mins since they were rock hard and cold. Needless to say we won't be returning we'll find another ride up the river. read more

Our group of 4 stopped here Sunday around 2pm 10/14 after touring Leinenkugels's. Two of us are from OH and 2 from MN. The service was very friendly and good. The atmosphere was good (TV's were on low volume which is a plus) and seemed clean. The onion rings and cheese curds were very good. Two of us (the guys) got burgers & waffle fries, both of which were good enough. Two of us got fish tacos (they came with rice & beans - just OK). I had expected them to be corn tacos (which I prefer) with baked fish (which is how other places I've been have cooked it), BUT they were flour tortillas and small pieces of deep fried fish. The sauce on them seemed to be a sour cream based sauce with hot pepper spice, which was good but with each bite seemed hotter. I only ate 1 of the 2 tacos - mostly without the flour tortilla which was too big. My daughter ate both her tacos, but also without much of the tortilla. The prices were reasonable. I would go back if I'm ever in the area, but get something else for the entree. read more

Our group of 8 stopped in on July 11 for dinner under the tent. The service was good and the food was very good. I recommend the Philly with au jus. The tiki area closed down around 10:30 and we were encouraged inside where the crowd was minimal and atmosphere much more stuffy. Our wives wanted to play a game of darts and listen to music. The next thing we knew, we had been running the dj music and we were leaving at 2:30. It was the most fun we have had on these couples weekends and will recommend Loopys to everyone heading that way. read more

The food was average bar food (3 stars) but the prices and the portions bring that up to a 5. we had 3 meals 1 appetizer and 5 beers plus tip for $60 AND we got to watch hot chicks in bikinis play volleyball. This place is nothing fancy, but Loopy's will provide you with good food served in a comfortable setting. I had a pulled pork sandwich with cheese curds (they let me get them as a side!), which was all wonderful. The BBLT (the extra B is for extra bacon)and the French dip were also ordered by my party. Both were good, though the au jus with the French dip left a bit to be desired. Overall, Loopy's is worth the stop, and I'll drop in again when I'm in the area. read more

This place is a must see! From the outside it looks like it fits into the Northwoods perfectly but once inside the volleyball courts and tiki bar are a little piece of the tropics! Upon visiting Loopy's for the first time on a very busy Saturday afternoon, I was absolutely impressed!! The outdoor atmosphere was the best I've ever walked into. You would never know from driving past on the highway the treasure this business has tucked away in the back yard. The feature of renting tubes for the river has to be a big selling point for this establishment, and offering a free shuttle service is amazing which I will be returning to try out in the future. Aside from the one of a kind amazing outdoor features including sand volleyball courts and a tiki bar with seating overlooking the river, I was met with superior and attentive service. On the particular day I chose to visit, Loopy's was packed full and the wait time on food was a long one, however what really turned things around for us was the bartender Ashley. My co-worker and I decided to sit at the tiki bar and were immediately concerned that the experience wouldn't be a good one considering one bartender trying to serve dozens of customers and constantly, literally running to cover many other areas. This anxiety was quickly shot down after watching her flawlessly multitask and keep each and every customer happy while somehow carrying on conversation and making jokes from one end of the bar to the other. She literally sold the place as she explained all of the features this business has to the customers who had never visited before while taking the time to hand out business cards and brochures on rental details. On top of everything else she was very personable and genuine getting to know everyone she came into contact with, even while never stopping moving and doing her job. I have never in my life seen a harder worker! To see a young girl carrying three cases of beer at a time all the way across the outdoor area to the bar while still checking on customers and taking orders was a sight to see and I gained extensive respect and admiration for this hardworking mentality. She is definitely one of the best features of Loopy's!! We ordered the ultimate Loopy's pizza and were very happy with the quality and presentation! More than enough food for us and enough to take home for later! Our needs were always met and I would recommend to ANYONE to check out Loopy's! We will be sure to return! read more

Great Friday Fish Fry- beer battered with Leinenkugel beer! Cheese curds are to die for! Excellent food and relaxed atmosphere!

We visited Loopys for the first time last week. We arrived around 6 PM and were the only customers at the time. We were greeted by the female bartender/waitress and she promptly took our order. Our beverages/meals arrived in an acceptable timeframe. We immediately noticed that our french fries (2 different types) were severely undercooked. We notified our waitress and she informed us that she would replace them with a fresh order. The rest of our meal (average quality sandwiches) was completed long before the replacements arrived. I informed the waitress that we were now done with our meal and no longer wanted the fries. She said nothing, left in a huff and proceeded to offer the fries to customers sitting at the bar 5 feet from us. She eventually returned with our bill. No apology, no thank you. She began to walk away before I stopped her. I Informed her that this was our first visit and that this had been a very disappointing experience. Her response was "there's only one cook and I'm busy with other customers too". Again, no apology. We live a short drive from this establishment. We will not return. read more

Had an Awesome time at Loopys! There's funtivities for families, friends and couples! Since we're couple we took the canoe package they have there. They shuttled us to a starting destination then we could canoe all the way back to Loopys or continue to their last loading dock which is approximately 2miles or so past Loopys...O' the trip was so revitalizing, serene atmosphere, just relaxing. I've never canoed and Jack the guy we got the canoe from reassured that it was easy peezy and he was right! We ordered a bucket of beer and the Philly pepper jack chicken sandwich for the end of the canoe trip as a snack while we wait for the shuttle to pick us up and take us back to Loopys for some more funtivities! The Philly chicken sandwich was sooooo delicious! The bread was fresh the chicken cooked perfectly very moist n juicy the cheese has a hint of the pepper jack purely the pepper jack taste we don't get in the south good enough to remember. We also tried their homemade pizza the thin crust which was absolutely delicious we are pizza snobs and the pizza is on point! We will be back Wisconsin just for Loopys! It's defenitly worth a trip back! and BTW! We had an opertiunity to meet Mr. Loopy he's an outstanding man with such a good personality. He made us feel at home! read more

Service was horrible, food ok. Here for lunch with a group of 14 on a Saturday around 130. Was told by someone this was a fun place to go to play vb, yard games, etc and a good meal. Right away we were told about a 30 minute wait for table inside but were offered a table outside so we took a table out at tiki bar. The weather wasn't great but the heaters were nice. Bartender, Dane if I remember right, was awesome! He was very attentive until we got a waitress (some drinks, menus, questions). Took 20 minutes to round up said waitress (Alexa I believe). Waitress clearly was annoyed by our group. She definitely showed it on her face. Informed our group the kitchen wait was at least 30 minutes. While waiting for our food, one in our group went inside to use the restroom and overheard the waitress complaining about our group to other patrons. When food was delivered, she never gave us our drinks that we ordered with our food so we ended up going up to the bar. Some food items were not as ordered (my burger was medium when wanted well among others). When it came time for the checks , everyone's checks were erroneous to some extent. When she was told of the errors , she copped more attitude. Finally on our way out we heard our waitress complaining yet again to more patrons! I ended up leaving most of my tip to the bartender. Fiance and friend went canoeing yesterday. We have normally had good experiences at Loopy's, but this time they wouldn't pick up the phone when called to come pick up my fiance and her friend after canoeing. They called for almost an hour and nothing. They then called me. I also called at least 5 times and still no one picked up. I ended up having to drive there from 30 mins away to tell them to go get them at the pick-up location. I went into the bar expecting it to be bustling, but instead there was maybe half a dozen patrons. I sat down and told the waitress/bartender that both my fiance and I had been calling for an hour trying to get them to go pick her up. The blonde bartender, who has absolutely zero people skills, tried to give me some lame excuse that they must have called the wrong number or their phone isn't working. No more than 1 min later the phone rings right in front of me. It was my fiance again. The blonde bartender basically said, "well, sorry" and hung up. She then continued to rush about as though she were actually busy when the surroundings indicated otherwise. The owner was nice enough to call back and apologize, but we'll not be going there again. It's too bad b/c we enjoyed the canoe guys Jordan and Nate, but the bartender's bad attitude and lack of any empathy is enough to not come back. read more
