I was excited to try this place, but it did not live up to my expectations. They brew their own beer and have wood-fired pizza. I did not try the pizza. The beer I had was not very good. It was an American Pale Ale. I've had Schlafly APA. My favorite is 4 Hands' City Wide. Loop's APA tasted extremely bland. No hop flavor to it. And a touch of sweetness. Very strange. Even stranger, it was room temperature. For food, I had the steak wrap with a side salad. The ranch dressing was tasty. The steak was dry and bland. Definitely need something to help it out. All in all, I was not impressed. I want to go back and try the pizza. I may have just ordered the wrong thing. read more

For the craft beer, this is not worth the stop, especially if passing through. The IPA and Lager were strangely similar. I tried 3 different beers, all were disappointing. That being said, the place was full with dinner patrons. I had a soup that was tasty and my partner had an acceptable salad. Service was adequate. The menu has many more options and, as stated, the place seemed popular for dinner. But, if you're traveling through and are intrigued by a craft brewery, this sadly isn't worth the stop. read more

Happy to see Loop Brewing doing well. We stopped for lunch recently while in McCook, and it's turned out to be a nice addition to McCook. An converted old railroad building 'down by the tracks' it's off the beaten path, but not by too much. It's a nice building inside long dining room running the length of the building with a little bar, the kitchen and the brewing along one side. We chose to sit at a high top in the bar for some appetizers. Place was surprisingly half full when we got there around 2pm. Their specialty appears to be pizza, plus the usual burgers, sandwiches, salads. Some interesting twist on traditional dishes that sound good for dinner sometime. We ordered appetizers and salads and they were plentiful. Had some great stuffed mushrooms, and a couple nice blonde ales. Did I say nice? Staff was attentive, food came out as quick as expected, and we had a nice hour break from seeing relatives, in a cool place (temperature wise too), with good food. We paid about $35 for the food (and a little more for the beer). There isn't another place in McCook quite like this. Definitely stop by for lunch or dinner, and have a local beer. read more

Jessica and Adam made us feel right at home! On our drive to get a new puppy we decided to stop into the pretty little town of McCook, Nebraska and found this great spot tucked away just off the main strip. I can't emphasize enough how delicious the breakfast hash is! I ordered a side of chili which added a really nice kick of spice, hard and sharp on the nose with no lingering heat or after-taste. I highly recommend it! Most importantly to me are the people and Jessica and Adam truly take the cake. You should expect warm smiles, helpful staff, and an owner who places the emphasis on his team and customers. Man I hope to visit y'all again! 2nd review: Returned for another visit, and found the most amazing appetizer! Marissa took care of us at the bar and was nice enough to let me sample some of their craft beers. Unfortunately none of the beers were to my liking, guess I've tried too many in my home state. She made me this lemonade drink that was AMAZING, and then she recommended this pretzel appetizer that I'm attaching a photo of because I wasn't sure what it was but it was mouth-watering awesome! I will be back to devour it again, and soon! Stopped by while visiting from out of town and this place was pretty neat! Sat at the bar and had the pleasure of meeting Amanda, whom was a delight to have small talk with and the drinks they have are beyond awesome! I could literally go back just to try more of the drink menu and of course, a beer flight, which I didn't even get to on this trip. I tried their turkey sandwich with green chile and my only complaint is that they need to add bacon. Where I'm from the same sandwich comes with bacon and it's a complete game changer. Cool place tucked back in an industrial area near the tracks. Somehow need to get more attention to this place! Great vibe inside...Wish we could have stayed to eat, got an early morning so ordered take it! But Conner was there to greet us and was very friendly. My husband loved the wings and wished he'd ordered more. Salad was pretty big portion. Great prices too! I live two hours away in Hastings and decided to make the drive over and check this out. It was worth it. Good selection of beers and I enjoyed all of them. Although I tougher it was weird they didn't have flight trays. They just brought the four individual taster glasses loose. My daughter and wife each had a Mac and cheese skillet that they both loved. I had to try a pizza. It was very good. Cool atmosphere in an old repurposed train depot. Nice laid back vibe which I love. read more

It's McCook, small town Nebraska. It's not a big city and you won't find big city food. What you do find is a small town pub with great beer and a healthy serving of Nebraskan food just off the railroad tracks. This is a perfect upscale restaurant and not a franchise, for this town of 7500. The staff were very friendly and helpful and didn't leave us waiting. After reading most of the reviews we decided on french dip pizza served with au jus. I was really looking forward to being swayed into liking this pizza. Disappointing. Mostly the crust was not completely cooked. The second item we tried was cheesy bread. It was different. Fried cheese sandwich with fried tater tots. Again, it was different, really enjoyed the tots. Wish they were Cajun just for a different taste of fried. Drinks- cherry beer which was good. Not to heavy and not to light. The homemade root beer was also delish. Recommend both drinks. Now the real test: would we return? Of course. We always give places 2 chances. Like I said before the beer and root beer were great. We would like to try a sandwich next time or Mac n Cheese. read more

As a JUCO basketball referee, my avocation takes me to a few smallish towns in NE, KS, WY, and CO. On this return trip to McCook a week after an earlier trip, my GF and I (well, maybe mostly me) were regretful that we didn't order beignets (!!!!) that were allegedly "to die for" at this brewery bar restaurant in town. So...we talked my two basketball partners into returning to the restaurant to partake. I enjoyed another Black IPA (think 95% Guinness with 5% hops) - never seen such a blend anywhere else. We shared bacon and sausage stuffed mushrooms as a starter. Remember the old Wendy's "Where's the Beef??" TV Commercials? We liked the cheesy mushrooms that arrived in a little cast iron skillet but really couldn't discern the bacon or sausage. We also shared a double patty Big Al's burger that was advertised with spicy aioli and al pastor pork on top. The pork was over-sold on the menu as there wasn't more than a few strands on the medium-well+ and overly salty burger patties. The sweet potato fries were on target and a good choice to upgrade. So...the beignets. Let's get down to it. On our first visit here last week, the server said they were "TDF" but we were wired for a pint of Ben and Jerry's at the hotel and passed. I'd been kinda obsessed ever since and knew we'd order them this visit. I mean, how often can you utter the phrase, " I had awesome beignets in McCook NE..."? And again the server this visit also said they were her favorite. Now, if you've ever had them in New Orleans for example, you know they somehow manage to be doughy AND light simultaneously, just brushed with a dusting of powdered sugar. They arrived four to an order tonight, hot and dusted nicely. They were pretty good, too. Maybe not TDF but certainly worth ordering. Instead of doughy, they were flaky and lightly fried, maybe just a touch greasy. Still, they were worth the order and now we can say, "We had beignets in McCook NE" ...and I can move on to a fresh obsession. read more

Great big space perfect for a party to a family lunch. Family-friendly. Food looked delicious however didn't realize they had a full kitchen so came full and had beers. Pleasantly surprised not a single beer (but for the IPA which I didn't try since don't like) that I had was good. (Most breweries seem to have one, maybe two, good beers imo.) My son and I had dinner here last month after reading the online reviews and it was a very positive experience! We arrived somewhat early on a Friday night after having driven all day from eastern Iowa. It was not crowded, we were seated and approached right away by a friendly server, and both of us ended up ordering the Workingman's burger (cheese, bacon, fried egg) and they were super tasty! My son also loved the fries, the fried cheese curd appetizer, and I had the Red Willow ale on draft--yum! Choices of restaurants were limited--most were closed. What an OUTSTANDING, UNEXPECTED FIND!! The atmosphere is casual but the menu is gourmet! We had mushroom caps stuffed with sausage and bacon for an appetizer. DELICIOUS! We followed this with the personal sized, wood fired, 'Cowboy Bleus' pizza and 'Grandma Emma's Krautburger' with a side of Jalapeño Relish. Then, we'd shared them. I wanted to like this place, but it just wasn't a good experience for us. The food was mediocre at best. I had the Philly cheesesteak pizza and my daughter had the brisket mac & cheese. The pizza was super bready and the steak had a weird texture. My daughter loves cheese, and the mac and cheese was too cheesy for her. The service was not particularly attentive. We ran out of water twice and had to ask. And when the server brought us our food he noticed we didn't have silverware, but then stopped at a table of 6 to take their orders before grabbing us silverware. Very strange. read more

Loop Brewing's sign on the building shows that they have been in business since 2011. However, of the taps inside, only four are their own offerings. It should have been fewer, as at least a couple of the beers tasted "off" -- the kolsch wasn't crisp and fruity; it was sour and funky, almost as if the taps had not been cleaned for some time. None of the beers was worth the effort, and in a rare moment, neither of us finished off our flights. Of all of the brewerys in SW Nebraska that we visited on our trip, this was the clear last place finisher. Perhaps their pizza is good; we didn't try it. read more

Loop's gets tastier and tastier each time I go in to eat. I have had one of their burgers with avocado and it was perfection. Recently I had the BLT and it was loaded with bacon and flavor. I mean, who can complain about that?! :) We enjoy their jalapeño corn fritters (I believe they're called and their stuffed jalapeños for appetizers.) I've had their pizza, and it's been good, too. They have a pizza on the kid's menu and they give you the option of bringing out the sauce and toppings and letting your kiddos put it together before they take it back and cook it. Such a great deal for the price! As an added bonus, my little boys love to look out the large window at the trains that pass by. read more

The Reuben pizza served the night we ate here was a good twist & the menu has a few others you won't find elsewhere. Nice touch too that kids can assemble their own at the table. For a place which seems to also make up a random pizza one night a week, thereby giving the impression they have a lot of ingredients to hand, there were surprisingly a number of options lacking when we asked for extra or amended toppings. Likewise don't expect all of their own beers to be available. Small-ish enterprise so they presumably can't brew & store every type all the time. Service was okay and the general atmosphere was pleasant. Toilets could do with a bit of livening up. As with other places in town it seemed a bit odd to have UFC matches on the TV when little kids were likely to be in. read more

This was my third visit to Loop's. I love the historical vibe here paired with delicious, hearty food. My favorite is the French Dip pizza, which you can get as a single serving or as a whole pizza to share. Delicious steak, cheese (lots and lots of cheese) and mushrooms sandwiched between two fresh pizza crusts, with a side of au jus for dipping. Wonderful! Customer service has been consistently good, and accommodating for larger groups! read more

We just stopped in to this little gem of a brewery and restaurant on our way out of town after spending the weekend in McCook. What a wonderful surprise. The vibe and atmosphere are really nice -- high ceilings, brick walls and well worn wood floors complement the comfort food that was unique and well prepared. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive, made some wonderful suggestions and we were happy all around with the food and service. Some things to consider if you're going for the first time: they serve plenty, plenty of food! We could have split an appetizer and and entree and still had some leftovers. Btw, the fried cheese curds are really good. The burgers are actually double patty burgers but they can make a single version of any of their specialty burgers. The hand-battered fried chicken sandwich was both crunchy outside and moist inside. And If you like thinner style crispy fries, go for the sweet potato fries. Their regular fries are hand cut, thicker style fries and not all that crunchy. It's a personal preference thing, but I really prefer more crunch to the outside. We didn't try the beer, but kudos to them for only having one IPA on the current beer menu and saving room for a lot of other interesting sounding choices. We had several issues got 3 orders completely wrong on our table of 8. They tried correcting and fixed it partially but got charged still for the side of sweet potato fries even though they brought fries out instead of the sweet potato fries 2 times! Also it's a brewery but they only had 3 beers on tap and ran out of 2 of them. The food was sub par. Beers had to be ordered 3 times because they kept running out of beers they supposedly had. However our servers were very helpful even though apparently the rest of the restaurant needs a serious makeover. It's a nice spot and has lots of potential. read more
