I cannot imagine my homebirth experience without Elizabeth. She was a wealth of knowledge, she has the most grounded energy and she was always there for us for any small or big questions. On the day of our sons birth she wore many hats and she knew exactly where she was needed. She helped with our 3 year old daughter, knew exactly when to call our midwife, and was the steady, confident energy I needed when I was in the thick of labor. She also was able to capture some of my most cherished photos and videos of the entire experience. I cannot recommend Elizabeth and Looma Birth enough. read more

Where do I begin? These wonderful humans helped me through the most transitional phases of my life. I was so worried, nervous, all of the things and Elizabeth and her team are truly angels sent from heaven. Raylene was my actual doula and she was a true miracle worker - at one point she was massaging my hands and arms and feeding me otterpops (just one of my many fond memories during a time when my birth didn't go as planned). I am so grateful for not only their birth services, but all of the things in between - education, community, new mom circles. This was exactly what I was looking for and found it though them. We are still connected to this day (had lunch with Raylene a few weeks ago!), and I hope for forever! Love you all - and if you are on the fence about getting a doula, it is soooo worth it. Elizabeth is an excellent doula. Though excellent does not even fully honor how brilliant she is.  For context, Elizabeth helped me achieve a VBAC, which is a scary thing to attempt.  Throughout the entire process she met me where I was and never made me feel judged.  I felt respected for wanting to deliver in a hospital.  I felt heard when I shared my previous birth story.  I felt like I could ask her ANY question along the way.  Whether it was,  "Should my boobs feel like this?" or "What does pushing feel like?", Elizabeth was consistently and genuinely there for me.    During labor, having Elizabeth there was a calming and soothing gift.  She was there as soon as I needed her and jumped right into doing the work.  She coached me through challenging moments (the decision to get an epidural or not, the onset of pushing which came rapidly, translating what the nurses and doctors were doing, etc.).   I felt like I could lean on her throughout it all.  And by lean, I mean LEAN.  I was only comfortable standing for much of active labor and she stood with me the entire time. Labor is a blur for all of us that go through it, but what I clearly remember is the gratitude I felt for Elizabeth when it was all done.  As I held my son to my chest, I knew I wouldn't have had that birth without her by my side (both during labor and all she did leading up to it).  I have made a career out of observing professionals do what they do, and watching Elizabeth as a doula is like seeing an awe inspiring expert in practice.  She works seamlessly with your partner and the nurses, knowing where things are and what is needed when.  She has a grace and confidence that permeates the space.  She is, in my book, the best doula one could ever ask for. read more

Elizabeth helped my husband and I welcome our first-born in November of 2018. I have only positive, loving, happy memories of that birthing experience, and Elizabeth was a big part of the reason why. She helped us prepare, walked us through our preferences and what to expect, and listened to how we envisioned her playing a role in the process. We felt prepared and supported leading up to the actual labor. On the big day, I called her after my water broke in the middle of the night; she calmly and lovingly talked me through my options over the phone, and met us at the hospital (as per my wishes) shortly after we checked in. During my labor, she coached me, supported me, gave me space when I needed it, and nudged me along when I started to tire. She was our champion and advocate, allowing me to fulfill my wishes for the type of birth I had envisioned. I honestly can't imagine going through that day without Elizabeth by our side, and would, without a doubt, ask her to be our doula for any future births. I can't recommend her services enough. We had Aubrey as our post partum doula for our second child and she made the first 6 weeks home with our newborn perfect. She came three nights a week to care for our son, tidy the house and do laundry so that I could sleep longer stretches at night, and really rest during the day, other than taking care of my son, and spending time with my 3 year old. Aubrey (and everyone at Looma!) Is kind, caring and clearly meant to be part of the birth and postpartum community. These are truly beautiful souls handling the most precious people in our lives while we are at our most vulnerable, and I have never felt so comfortable with someone in my home. From our first zoom call I knew Aubrey was our person, and I was sad (and a little nervous!) When our 6 weeks was up. But I knew she had helped us ease into being a family of four. She was gentle and caring with my son as if he was her own, and an angel to my daughter, who was going through her own tough time having a new sibling. She also spent many an evening listening to me ramble as I nursed my newborn which was so nice to have someone during those early hour feeds. We hired Aubrey to care for me and the baby, but she helped our whole family, and will forever be a part of our birth story. read more

She helped me and my husband learn about the birth process instead of fearing it. She helped us to understand what would happen in the hospital and encouraged us to use our voice and to know what we could say no to. I felt so empowered having her by our side.
