Heaps of lifeguards all the time. There a few shaded grass area's as well as lots of seats around the pools so you can pretty much always get a shady or sunny spot. Every hour for about 10 minutes they call Adult swim, which is good and bad depending. When you have a 5 month old baby in the baby pool, and suddenly 20 kids get in, that have no boundaries and regard for you and the baby, then it's not the best. But the large pool is sectioned off so pick up your little baby and go get in the big pool, just not in the section where people might be swimming laps. Working out the parent life like a champion!

This one is close to home so I checked it out on a Sunday afternoon and for $4, it wasn't a horrible waste of money. They have a regular pool with a slide and kiddie pool and a lot of lifeguards, like five or so for such a small space! I really hoped that they would have chairs to lay in but no dice, only a few picnic tables and some seats that area little low to the ground and go back a little. I stayed for about two hours and went on my way and by the time I slept there were about 12-13 people there. It's basically a no frills, which is what I was expecting, but think I will check out other pools in the hood the next time.

They have a lot of weights and weights machines in the middle but they're lacking cardio equipment. They have about eight treadmills and they lean towards the jankier side. They're dated and if you want to increase or decrease your speed quickly, well you're out of luck. They just seem to have some of everything... Rower, elliptical, bikes. But you can't beat the price, if you're in Aurora resident it's crazy ridiculous and they have monthly memberships plus 10 pass deals which land you under $4 a visit. I mainly go for the weight area and equipment but they have an array of group fitness classes so maybe one day that will happen. This place is very kid heavy so if you're looking for peace and quiet, go elsewhere. Picky nit? The facility faces west and has amazing views of the front range yet they have automated blinds that go down each afternoon taking away those gorgeous views. Why don't Aurora Southeast Rec Center want us to see pretty things?

Shares a lot with the golf course. -Pool- it's big. Heated. Has a lap lane. They get the kids out once in a while for adults only swimming. 3 star rating is because someone defecated in the pool. At least the lifeguards caught it quickly and shut it all down. They said it would be closed for at least one hour as they shocked the water. I did not want to go back in an hour, sorry. And My youngest's fear of the deep end was overcome after one week. She even felt confident to jump off the standard diving board by the end of her 2 week session. Big Blue is great. We've been going for the past few months and my kids have gone from one of them…read morenot being willing to put her face in the water, to swimming laps with a few different strokes. I will say that I think they do better at the lower levels. My son is at one of the highest levels and the classes are bigger and longer, and I don't feel like he gets the same attention that he used to. My daughter is somewhere in the middle though and still learning a ton from her classes each week. In general, the location is clean and well maintained. There are family showers with doors as well as showers along the side of the pool for a quick rinse off. There are plenty of changing rooms for simply drying off and getting on clothes (along with plastic bags provided for putting wet swim clothes in). The staff is super friendly and my kids love them.
