This post is for anyone who has had an expensive or frustrating experience getting locked out of a car or replacing lost keys or fobs - or wants to avoid one in the future. We lost one of the two fobs to our 2018 Nissan and I wanted to get a replacement and a spare. I ordered two OEM fobs on eBay with uncut keys, knowing I would need to have the fobs programmed and have the keys cut locally. I called around local St. Louis locksmiths and learned two things. (1) When you call what appears online to be local locksmith, you often get connected to a phone bank in New Jersey or India. (2) One of the brick-and-mortar locksmiths I found who could do the job would charge $220 and a second would charge $250, and in either case I would need to show up and wait while the work was being done. Then I came across Blake at www.LOOCSTL.com. Blake said he would come to my house and do the work here for $95. During our first conversation, he asked me a few questions to confirm that I had ordered the right replacements, then said to give him a call when my keys/fobs arrived. (If you need additional keys/fobs, I strongly suggest calling Blake before you you order them as there are many offerings on Amazon Ebay etc. that may not work for you.) I called him and he showed up at my house about 30 minutes later. He texted me a link so that I could see his location on Google maps as he drove to my house. He programmed both fobs and cut both keys in about 30 minutes - they work perfectly - and also cut me an extra emergency key at no charge. Blake would not accept payment for the extra key or a tip. He is friendly, very knowledgeable and answered his phone immediately each time I called. I am happy to be doing Blake a favor by posting this (I have no business interest or arrangement with him). Do yourself a favor by keeping his information handy for when you need it. (I don't know why YELP thinks I'm in Poplar Bluff. I'm in Webster Groves.) read more
