We showed up a little late for our reservation, but you'd never know it by the way the staff greeted us. Everything was already set up and ready to go--no rush, no attitude, just genuine hospitality. That's actually one of the reasons we keep coming back: every visit feels effortless. The team knows their wines, they listen to what you like, and they guide you without ever making you feel out of place. The tasting room itself is beautiful--clean lines, warm wood, a modern Northwest feel. It's the kind of space where you can actually relax and enjoy yourself instead of feeling like you're in a tourist factory. You've got art on the walls, polished floors, and even those wooden kayaks that make you stop and stare for a second. It sets the tone before the first pour even hits the glass. And the wines... always on point. Whether you're into a silky dessert ice wine that tastes like it should be illegal, or you love those strong, bold reds that Kiona is known for, there's something here for every kind of palate. If you want a place that consistently delivers great wine, friendly service, and a relaxed atmosphere where you can actually unwind... Kiona is one of the best spots in the Tri-Cities area. Worth the drive every single time.

Since we had our dog with us, we opted to sit outside. Luckily, it's a covered patio, so although it was a hot day, it could have been worse if we had direct sun, and the view of the vineyard on Red Mountain is phenomenal! We were greeted with a glass of rosè, and opted for tastings. There are 3 tastings for $20 (not counting the welcome glass), with generous pours. The fee is waived with bottle purchase of $30. I opted for mostly cab or cab blends. Honestly, I didn't care for the wine. I was actually disappointed as so many people have raved about Kiona. The best thing I tasted was the rosè. Maybe I chose the wrong wines to taste, but I'm not sure I'd buy Kiona wines. On the flip side, the staff were absolutely great! And the tasting room is gorgeous, and if the views are your thing, and you enjoy their wine, definitely pay Kiona a visit.

The owners, Greg and Shae, are passionate about their business and it shows! The tasting room is beautifully decorated. There's a story board about how they came to Washington and started Frichette. But we had our dog, so we opted to sit outside. Greg set us up in Adirondack chairs underneath the Apricot tree, so we were shaded, as it was a hot day. We were so grateful. People were commenting we looked like a magazine cover! Lol! We were greeted with a glass of rosè and opted for the wine tastings. It's $20 for 4 tastings, not including the welcome glass of Rosè. Their wines were exactly what I was looking for. Fantastic, full bodied flavor. And Shae would chat us up whenever she dropped a tasting, not just to talk about the wine, but really just chat. It felt like we already knew her! If you're ever in Benton City, definitely add Frichette to your list of wineries to visit. I know we'll be back!!!

The entire place has this "European chateau" vibe that's impossible to fake -- from the architecture to the art to the view over the vineyard rows. Even the drive up feels like you're heading somewhere special. I added a note to our reservation asking for a spot by the fireplace and mentioned we were celebrating a birthday. Not only did they honor it, they nailed it. The chairs were warm, comfortable, and the whole room felt cozy in that old-world way -- fire crackling, candles glowing, and the kind of ambiance that makes you want to slow down and savor everything. The wines were bold and delicious, especially the reds. You can tell they take their craft seriously. They even brought out a little birthday treat, which was such a thoughtful touch and made the moment feel even more personal. We also ordered the cheese plate and honestly, it was perfect. Three different cheeses, a mix of crackers, olives, tiny pickles, and what I'm pretty sure was apricot jam -- everything balanced each other beautifully. Paired with the wine, it felt like the world outside just... paused for a bit. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful without hovering. They made sure we had everything we needed and explained the wines clearly, but still let us relax, enjoy, and take in the atmosphere. If you want a place that transports you, even just for an hour or two, Hedges is absolutely worth the visit. It's one of those wineries where you don't just taste the wine -- you feel the entire experience.
