Longship is a charming little establishment well located next to our hotel along the Columbia River. We were greeted right away, and invited to sit where we wished. There are high top tables and cozy gathering spots. I appreciated the effort put into making the space inviting with colorful chairs, good lighting, and festive conversation areas. We had a long list of wines from which to select. My husband was better at asking good questions than I after our long day of travel, but we both ended up choosing flights of nice wines to sample. Of the 6 we tried, I think our favorite was the Albariño white. All were good, and we also really enjoyed the reserve Malbec. We noshed on the pesto Brie and the fig jam flatbread to accompany our wine. The flatbread came with goat cheese which we can go either way for us. This goat cheese seemed mild and our server recommended a drizzle of balsamic to balance it out. Great suggestion! The icing on top of our visit was our server - whose name unfortunately can't recall. When we asked for recommendations for other local wineries to visit, she offered to make us a list and wrote the down for us. Above and beyond kindness! I'm a big fan of the wine scene in Eastern Washington and an even bigger fan of Longship Cellars! I was visiting the Tri Cities for work and was graciously invited to happy hour at Longship Cellars by our amazing client. She's a member here and I understand why. The service, the wine, the atmosphere- all were so great. They have created a very nice space with cozy nooks and chic decor. We sat on the blue velvet couches tucked away along the window. As we perused the menu, we decided between a mix of flights. They were doing a few blind flight tastings that I didn't partake in, but my co-worker and client did. They brought out three wines and you got a little card that would reveal which was which. What a creative idea! All the wines we enjoyed were absolutely delicious! I can be a little particular about what I like, but these were great and absolutely matched my palette. Although we didn't order any, they also had a lot of yummy food options and the baked brie and goat cheese both smelled delicious. Service was so sweet and so attentive. The staff was very friendly! My favorite wine was the effervescent Harvest Rose' and to eat, the warm brie with seasonal berries and a crusty baked bread. We also shared a flatbread and hummus plate at our table of 3 and were pretty filled by the end of our visit. We sat at a table inside, and it was pretty busy for a Thursday night in June. We had to get some wine while in eastern Washington, which is where the best wine comes from, duh! And Longship Cellars is a great place for a tasting in Richland. We had a great time here and felt like we were among the locals. Longship Cellars is located in the downtown area of Richland and was walking distance to where we were staying, so decided to check it out. We were happy to learn that they had an outdoor area that's dog-friendly and it's a winery that doesn't have a tasting room in Woodinville as we wanted to explore wines that we can't easily get on the west side. When we visited on a Saturday night, the place was busy. Fortunately, even though we didn't have a reservation, we were able to get a table out on the patio and then the entire place filled. Longship Cellars is the place to be at on a Saturday night in Richland! There are three different flight tastings and we tried the red one since I don't like white wines. There were no bad red wines here, even the red table wine had a good kick to it with how it's blended. I like more bold, savory red wines and Longship Cellars has a great collection of just that. I was happily impressed. We ended up taking a bottle of their petite sirah, Once is Enough, which I recommend for anyone who enjoys a strong, red wine. Service was fantastic as our server was super friendly and although she was busy with the rush of customers, she checked in with us throughout our time here. In addition to wine, they offer food, such as flatbreads, cheese plates, and they have a wine pairing with truffles. Yum! Nice little winery in a shopping area that also has some bites to eat. Although they typically stop doing tastings around 4:45, they served us two when we arrived closer to 5:30 or six which was super nice of them. Came here at opening time with our baby and it was a nice quiet place to enjoy a drink. Service was very friendly, and the place was very clean. We noticed them using gloves while cleaning the glasses which made us feel good about their attention to cleanliness. Definitely an up-and-coming winery to explore if they come to your town for a tasting, and worth a trip to Tri-Cities too! I expected to like their 2016 "Ginger Man" Syrah and 2016 "Invader" Tempranillo, because those are two of my favorite varietals, but the surprise was that I loved their 2017 "Steel Dragon" Riesling, as that is one I rarely choose. We aren't wine people but thought since Longship was in the retail center across the parking lot from our hotel, so we decided to give it a try. We are extremely glad we did! The curb-appeal is a little daunting for us non-wine people, but we were pleasantly surprised on how nice and warm it was inside. The little gal behind the counter was so very nice and helpful. Third time in bar - first two times (spectacular); however, this time on a Saturday mid afternoon we walked into a crowded bar and sat at the bar ... and for ten minutes received no service though four people stood in front of us: two were on phones, a gentleman simply stared around, and a girl frantic at the register. Then the service was even worse with no food option - which others were receiving, and never asked if we wanted to purchase a secondary glass of wine.
