If we try to re-set it ourselves, I'm worried we won't be able to line it up properly for the latch to work. I was told to do it ourselves using pieces of wood for the right height and clamps to hold it together. Nice. Call for help from the place that did the installation and was told they won't help us and to do it ourselves. I suppose a repair job just wouldn't pay enough to make it worth their time. I could write a lengthy post about the pains I went through to find replacement clawfoot tub feet…read more(CTFs) for two broken ones on my original clawfoot tub, but who has time? So many shapes, so many sizes, so many other imperfect CTFs out there! (Kind of a Cinderella story really.) Finally I was pointed to Creative Casting by a local reuse store (yay Earthwise!). For $45 a foot, they will use one of your original clawfoot tub feet to make you any number of new ones out of brass. They shouldn't break again, being brass, and they will fit your tub, unlike 99% of the other tub feet out there, as far as I can tell. And, best part, I totally expected this to take weeks, which was a problem, given that it took me so long to find them, deadlines, etc. However, they were very accommodating and got me the new feet plus my original back within about 10 days. The feet look cool too!
