What a great experience! I was visiting Santa Barbara in July and stopped into Longoria's tasting room on a whim. Brent immediately welcomed me and made me feel right at home. I'm definitely more of a wine novice, but Brent has an incredible depth of knowledge and explained everything in a way that was approachable and engaging--never pretentious or intimidating. It made the tasting so much more enjoyable, and I left feeling like I had actually learned something. The wines were outstanding. If I hadn't been flying home, I honestly would have bought a case to take with me. The tasting room itself is also fantastic. It's family-friendly, has a wonderfully air-conditioned indoor space (which was much appreciated in July), and a beautiful outdoor patio that's the perfect spot to relax--especially during Fiesta. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Santa Barbara. Highly recommend! read more

The final stop on our wine tasting trip took us to Longoria on state street where one of our group had a pickup. I can remember when Longoria was in Los Olivos back in the day before the company was sold. Still very good wines and the pourer did a fine job giving us the info on all the pours. Nice casual State street setting. The pourer even had her little corgi entertaining us for a bit. Nice spot to end our tour before having dinner up the street. read more

Such a delicious tasting here at Longoria. By the glass we enjoyed their Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio. Both aromatic and fruit forward. And the Longoria Blues Cuvée is not to be missed. This place is nestled in the middle of State Street where i had unknowingly walked by hundreds of times. The inside is very nicely decorated. The bar and stools sit off to one side while tables and couches line the other side. There is also outdoor seating for those who like to people watch. The wine itself was very good and the staff were friendly. The one downside is if you come while there is live music, you won't be able to hear anyone talking in your group. I sat through one singer and then a band playing one day; I had to pause conversation with my table of friends because they couldn't hear me nor i them. read more

We stopped into Longoria Wines on State Street for the first time on an Aug 2024 visit to Santa Barbara. The space has a modern, hip vibe with comfy seating and big windows perfect for people watching along State Street! Sam was super welcoming, very attentive and incredibly knowledgeable. We were visiting right after the 5-day Old Spanish Days celebration in SB, so they still had a Fiesta tasting menu to choose from, in addition to the regular "Longoria's Latest" and "Blind Faith" tastings. We opted for each of the regular tastings and enjoyed them all. It's easy to see why this is a 5-star wine room - great wine, great ambiance, great people! read more

This tasting room is the most beautiful and elegant I've been. Located in Downtown Santa Barbara on State Street, you can't miss it. It's two doors from McConnell's Ice Cream. They have indoor, patio, and State Street people watching seating. The patio is beautiful! Longoria's Latest Tasting - 5 tastings for $25 (2 Whites and 3 Reds). All the wines were delicious. They were better as we went down the list. I typically like sweeter wines, but my personal favorite was the 2023 Graciano. It had such a great peppery flavor! The Cheese Plate was by local SB Cheese Shop - It had 3 cheeses, dried apricots, walnuts, crackers, grapes and fig butter. So yum! They also have events such as Karaoke and Wine & Crime. Super fun! Paige was so nice. She told me about the wine and their influence and how it shifting from French to Spanish. She even listen to me whine about my day, and I felt very supported and loved. Thank you, queen! I got to try the Alberino and the blues cuvée . Both excellent. It was a bit hot outside today, so I opted to go with white wine. We kept hearing about their Karaoke Fridays on State, and ventured in for some fun singing and wines. And the wines are truly delicious. They have a very impressive "By the glass" menu, and we enjoyed each one. Their list of Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir is also impressive. Very special vineyards in the Santa Ynez Valley, and we also enjoyed their Cabernet Franc, Matinee Rose, and Golden Hour Pinot Grigio. In my opinion, this is one of the more upper scale tasting rooms. But with a very down home, Santa Barbara Ishal . The service was incredible. Our guy came over to the little couch. We were sitting on with a big smile on his face just making us happy with his pours. We loved the 2022 rosé We also really love the 2019 blues cuvée . The prices were so incredibly reasonable. The tasting menu was perfect. They don't offer a lot of food so if you're hungry, they've got crackers you can buy or a cheese shop curated plate. Seating on the inside with tables and booths. Went to Santa Barbara for the weekend, as several of the locals were a good downtown winery is, they all pointed to Longoria, it's a pretty simple storefront. They serve small charcuterie boards, a few snacks, and the wines are pretty dang good. read more

So good place but we left our phone there. Luckily we have an Apple phone soooo find my iPhone came in handy. The app told us it was inside this establishment which my wife confirm. But when I went in, the only employee that was there, which we interacted with before, said it wasn't there. I check bathrooms and all couches and funny...was not there. But app said it was there. So I kept questioning the employee kept saying it was not there. Even after closing up, it is still there! So I giving this place a 1 star until management calls back and finds the phone. The interior decor is very nice, upscale. I really enjoyed the setting; they also have great chill music which adds to the experience. The visit would have been better if we were not the only people here, but what do you expect at 3pm on a Friday? Sam was a great sommelier, full of great descriptions and attentive to our needs. Longoria Wines did a few extra special things to acknowledge our birthday girl, which was appreciated. This is a wine tasting experience you will not regret. It's rare I review wineries since everyone's palettes are so different, however this tasting room blew us away. We hadn't heard of Longoria Wines before but the space drew us in as we walked by that we decided to have a tasting without researching them. So happy we did as it ended up being our favorite wine tasting from our trip. We picked the "Latest Release" flight priced at $25 for 5 pours. The flight started with a Pinot Grigio which we are not fans of, however this particular one may have converted us. It was unlike any Pinot Grigio we've ever tasted and even purchased a bottle. All the other wines were also outstanding, perfectly chilled, and we decided to take home 2 bottles of the Lovely Rita Pinot Noir. The tasting fee was waived with a 3 bottle purchase which was a no brainer for these outstanding wines. read more

Longoria wine tasting is one of those magic gems in the center of downtown. Sam, the bartender, is the star of the show, with his amazing personality, and artistic talents (he made the label of their "blues" bottle of wine and also is a drummer at his band). His dog Dennis, is a true character and lovely soul! The wines are great, the atmosphere is wonderful, and Sam makes you feel at home. But, with the current anti-business climate of the leaders of Santa Barbara, we believe this wonderful place might be in jeopardy. Closing off the street to cars, catering to teenagers on their bicycles, ruining retail because of their insane parking fees and other regulations, ugly plastic barriers like you find in Bakersfield or Stockton, all contribute to destroying the downtown, leaving little hope for the few remaining businesses on this most important avenue. I encourage you to visit this wonderful place and enjoy a delicious glass of wine and write your city council members to get their act together to save this gem as well as others! read more

I arrived at Longoria Wines with my parents on a recommendation from another winery in Santa Barbara. We sat at a high-top table and appreciated the high back & swivel seat of the chairs, which were incredibly comfortable and relaxing. The staff member told us about the tastings, and we later learned that Longoria updated their tasting menu. We had one Longoria's Latest tasting and one Blind Faith tasting. During our tasting, the staff member introduced the Nebbiolo, Albariño, and Tempranillo wines as "Neb-bolo", "Alba-rinno" and "Temp-a-nellow," which made us believe the staff member was unfamiliar with these varietals. We are self-acknowledged to be particularly picky, and prefer exceptionally bold, tannic reds (Lewis Cabs, Saarloos & Sons reds, Far Niente Cab, Tensley Syrah), dry whites (Cambria Winery Chardonnays, green apple-y and lemony California Sauvignon Blancs), and French-style rosés. While we did not walk away from Longoria with a bottle, we appreciated the comfortable seating, inviting atmosphere, and women's sports playing on the two TVs above the bar. I would recommend this winery for individuals new to wine-tasting and looking to explore new varietals. read more

Longoria is a vibe in itself, the ambiance and service is top notch. The wines are divine, never had one I didn't like, perhaps some I'm not partial to drinking but wouldn't say no to a glass. I'm a huge fan of their Bordeaux variety, they have some Rhône and burgundy as well. One of my favorite varieties is Albariño and they have a stunning one. Always come here when I want to unwind and enjoy the environment. Today I tried their Nebbiolo and Cabernet Franc, I settled for a glass of Graciano, black pepper and beautiful red fruit on the front end. Great new wine tasting room in downtown Santa Barbara. Very modern and stylish decor. I really like the seating areas as they are cozy and comfy. Excited for when they open their back patio too. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. They offer 2 tasting flights, and below is my personal opinion on them: #1 The Latest (mixed flight) - 2021 Rose was okay, nothing special about it. I'm not always a big Rose fan, so I wouldn't order a glass myself but wouldn't send it back if someone gave me a glass. - 2020 Chardonnay cuvee Diana I really enjoyed and my guests liked this one too. It didn't taste like a traditional oak barrel or steel barrel chardonnay. I'd recommend this one for someone who doesn't normally like Chardonnay. - 2020 Lovely Rita pinot was okay, and like the Rose, nothing stood out to me about it. This is another situation where I'm not always a Pinot fan, and for me, this was very light and a little bland for my personal taste. - 2018 Blues Cuvee I really enjoyed. This was a nice drinking wine. - 2020 Tempranillo was by far my favorite wine in this flight. We'll definitely be ordering a few bottles regularly. Highly recommend for red wine drinkers #2 Blind Faith (red flight) - 2017 Fe Ciega Pinot nior was a standard Pinot. Great easy drinking red and could go with lots of food varieties. - 2016 Fe Ciega Pinot Nior Block M was an okay rendition of a Pinot. We preferred the prior tasting. - 2017 Cab Franc was fantastic and even bought a bottle to take home. Decibel a bold, deep flavored red. Would go great with a heavy meat dish or some red sauce pasta. - 2018 Evidence was my second favorite wine of both flights. Delicious red, would love to drink by a fireplace or with a cheese board.
