My mom and I took a walking tour of the cavern. They're stunning and full of unique and interesting history. Unfortunately, the reason for the less than great review is due to our guide (Marissa, I think). I debated whether or not to take a tour. I'm a caregiver for my 75 year old mother, so I'm cautious with her and very budget conscious. However, after reading a lot of reviews, all of which referenced engaging and funny guides, I decided to splurge. Mom has worked really hard to build up her strength and endurance with hiking. So, we felt good about this. Mom and I were the only two on our 10am tour. Our guide met us at the meeting area several minutes late, then dove right in to the rules. She made zero attempt to engage with us before taking off down the path at a very brisk pace. She stopped at each point along and quickly recited her script in monotone, before rushing us through to the next point. Mom and I tried repeatedly to engage with our guide and make conversation, but she never strayed from her script. I totally get that she's done this tour a million times, but it was Mom's first. She was fascinated and wanted to soak it in. I absolutely get that the guides have a timeframe in which they're expected to complete the tour. However, again, Mom is 75...a healthy and fairly agile 75, but 75 nonetheless. Lastly, as someone who works in customer service, it really bothers me to give my money to a business that shows exactly zero interest or appreciation for me.

This park was very beautiful and vean. The staff at the gift shop were extremely friendly and helpful! The tour of the cavern was very enjoyable, our tour guide was amazing & I highly recommend the experience, it was very enjoyable. I did the 90 minute tour but they have other options as well. I'll definitely be back.

    Really fun experience!

What a great opportunity here to go spelunking! And not in the crawl on the floor kind. But they also have that if you are into that kind of stuff. Our guide was very informative and had the answers to all of our questions. If you are a cave explorer and have not been here ever check them out. Heck if you are in the area and never been in a cave like this then you must really check them out. It's well worth it and a great learning experience for all ages. Check it out, highly recommended!

We had a great time visiting this state park. We brought friends with kids and everyone enjoyed the 90 minute walk/tour. The tour guide was engaging and informative and a lot to see and learn. Highly recommend!!

Cave 4 of 5 on the Texas Cave Tour...and this on is very cool...being the only cave formed by water you won't see very many formation, but the stories behind it are fantastic...Great lighting with a few "Chicken Nugget" size bats to see...great guide and I would say and easier cave to navigate..but it does have some very low overhangs....was a great adventure for sure..and we all thoroughly enjoyed it.

If you're looking for something exciting to do with your family, come here and do the night cave tour! With a tshirt, meal voucher and a guided experience in the caves you will not regret this! Our guide was fun and made the experience fun as we explored through the cave in the dark. They even have a cool spot for stargazing with a telescope. The gift shop has a lot of cool memorabilia, honestly better than most state parks. To top it off, they had a little dance party which was the cherry on top.

Houstonian here! This was such an amazing experience. The caves are beautiful and have a fascinating history. Cavern State Park is clean, well kept and beautiful. Jim was such a great tour guide! He was funny, enthusiastic and very fun. Jim made the tour entertaining by quizzing us and having us lead the group at times. I truly enjoyed this experience and I can't wait to bring my family with me next time so they can also get to experience nature's beauty. 10/10!

My son and I decided to check this place out on our way back to Austin from Enchanted Rock. It was pretty busy on a Sunday, we were able to walk in but had to wait an hour, but that was ok because there were trails and cool CCC structures on the ground. So it was nice to check those out! We had a large group on the tour (40) but our guide Jennifer spoke up so everyone could hear and kept everyone safe. She had some great knowledge about the cave to share and some funny deadpan jokes. My son and I thoroughly enjoyed this adventure. I don't think I have ever seen a cave quite like this, we live in Missouri where we have a lot of caves but this was really unique due to the river formation! Highly recommend!

Since I spent all day Saturday in the Texas sun, Sunday seemed like the perfect day to take some underground time! This cavern is absolutely fascinating, especially the dolomite section in the back! The tour was about half the price of the Natural Bridge Cavern ticket, and was 30 minutes longer! There are specialty tours available, like lantern tours lighting up the darkness, or a 3 hour wild cave tour with a t-shirt gifted for successful completion! There are short trails that have an above ground view of the karst landscape, and a few CCC structures as well. Book your tickets in advance as they can fill up, and the cave stays around the 70's, so not too hot, not too cold. Wear appropriate shoes, there are some head duck areas and slippery rock paths, and you are walking for about 90 minutes!

Initially drove out to enchanted rock and turned away due to not having a reservation and came across this place in Burnet TX. - Entry cost $158.88 - backpacks water allowed - included a very knowledgeable guide - Terrain is mostly smooth, no high inclines -9- 10 years olds made it through effortlessly -different package options. My reservation was booked same day. - gift shop offer food and beverages - activities seen in the different packages are available to purchase upon arrival was not required to purchase during reservation. Overall the experience was unique, calming. Seamless, and very scenic. Only reason for the 4 stars was due to the kids becoming impatient towards the end, eager to run around and lost interest in listening to the history the guide presented along the way.

Really fun cave tour. The caves stay cool, so it's a very reasonable summer afternoon activity after a hike and cliff jump at Ink Lakes, which is exactly what we did! Best parts of the tour were the lights out section, and the reveal when the lights got turned on at a certain part. (The guided tour is $22.50 for the base walking tour, and there was plenty of availability for walk-ins in case you stay late at Ink Lakes!)

The cave was spectacular. They had to dig it out for exploration. They even offer a 3 hour tour that goes exponentially further than I went.

Highly highly highly highly recommend going to this park if you are in Austin Area. It's a very cool spot to visit and the history to Learn how this cave was created is amazing. For $25 a person for an hr guided tour it's worth the drive. We went on a Sunday for the 10:30 tour and it was great wasn't too crowded, wasn't too hot or humid and it was just the perfect way to end 4th of July weekend.

The place was clean and just the right size for my wife and I. Being city folks you forget how dark it is out in the country at nights. It was nice. We signed up for these adventures to make the weekend even more fun: 1. Feed baby kangaroo(Bodhi). This was about a 30 minute session where we got to feed him a bottle and kibble. It really was an amazing experience. 2. Bucket of food and self guided feeding of animals. We walked the property and hid to feed so many animals. All of the animals were friendly toward people. They were all very good motivated. We encountered a giraffe, donkeys, zebras, horses, cows, pigs, dwarf steers, camels, emu, deer, buffalo and more. The animals were often trying to bully their way to the front of the line. The cow Oreo who has not skipped a meal was always front of the line. 3. Afternoon safari ride in ATV. This was a fun ride around the property. Did not see any new animals but had a great time. The cows out at pasture were thrilled to be fed. 4. Giraffe encounter and meal. This was a little expensive but I would spend it again. The giraffes were super friendly and personable. We wanted to take them home because they were so much fun. The guide, experience and never felt rushed made this worth it. Our guide was top notch. I think her name was Jackie but could be wrong.

It's not recommended to go on the tour when it's raining, and when it's too hot or cold outside. We had to reschedule twice due to weather but we finally made it out there and it was a lot of fun learning about bees, their importance to the world and seeing them up close. We all enjoyed the hands on experience being in the bee hits offered us! Standing in the middle of bees flying around, not angrily, and see how they work together was breathtaking. Becky, one of the staff members, scheduled our tour and led our honey taste testing. She was the sweetest lady and took the time to learn all of our names. After all, this place is out in the country and, although not too far off of Hwy 71, it is secluded and kind of remote (probably seems more remote than it actually is). It was, however, a delightful surprise! The shop had a wide variety of bee-related items from tools and clothing for serious bee keepers to honeys and honey-sweetened candies to bee-themed household goods. So cute!! We were treated to a honey tasting, which (like wines) started with the lighter colored and flavored honey (a local honey) up to the darker honeys, then we veered off and were sampling cinnamon honey (think Red Hots + honey), coffee and chocolate flavored, and (my favorite) chili-infused honey. Cannot wait to try this drizzled over some soft cheese. I don't know how I got out with only the few items I purchased (photos below), so I'll have to go back. Many of the items would make great gifts (I'm thinking of those coffee mugs: Let it Bee; Bee Happy; and my favorite: Give Bees a Chance. Searched online for brewery tours that included this and finally decided on Austin Brewery Tours. Almost daily tours, online booking was so easy, and we got a reminder, a couple of days earlier to our tour, via email. Tour starts at noon. Meetup time was 11:30am. At around 11:25am the van was there. Out comes Shane, owner and tour guide. He immediately introduced himself, thanked us for being on time and proceeded to ask us our names and where we were from. Once the other people taking the tour arrived, we were all introduced and in the van we went. During the time we were driving, he would ask us questions to get to know us better, and see the style of beers we liked. He also gave us an intro of each of the breweries we would visit. He made the time driving pass by fast and welcomed all questions we could have. At each of the breweries, he explained the process and what we had included in the price of the tour. At Jester King, they even had a special release and he bought a sample of each (which was not included in the price but he gifted us with it) making sure we had the complete experience. You can tell he enjoys doing these tours and meeting the people. He even took us to Revolution - which was in front of one of the breweries we visited - to try locally made flavored gin. So greateful he allowed us to do this quick stop - this was delicious, and gave me the opportunity to talk more with one of the ladies on the tour, exchanging ideas on recipes with the gin we had just tried. Shane is grate at incorporating everyone in the tour and conversations. He allows you plenty of time to enjoy each brewery and every beer you choose. He is now friends with the staff at each of these breweries, which works on the advantage of everyone in the tour since we got excellent/ friendly service at each stop. Best part of this all, is you meet new people, get to enjoy all the beer you can drink, and don't have to drive. Great way to spend a day in Austin. If looking for a beer tour, look no further, this is it!
