Ice cream is amazing probably why I didn't walk out. Service severely lacking. After being the 4th person in line, I waited almost 30 minutes to get 2 quarts of ice cream. I watched 12 people get served, multiple items. After 25 minutes and the last person standing, I let the girl at the counter know I was till waiting. She looked at me, like I had some nerve and said "he's scooping it now." Seriously!! It was 25 minutes and 8 people behind me were served. First world problems I realize. It's only ice cream but what a joke having to wait that long. Poor service. read more

Longacres is always a stop for me when traveling back and forth to Philly. Love to get the baby dish - it's enough for two to share, if you don't want to stuff yourself. I've never found a flavor I didn't love - but have found a few dishes that were subpar. Mostly because it's slower in the off season, and the less popular flavors just don't turn enough to keep super fresh (beware of ice crystals and that off taste if you choose poorly). They put up a huge new covering over the entrance so you can sit in the shade. Love it...just stick to the basics in the off season to ensure the best goodies hit your mouth. read more

Honestly the best ice cream and milkshakes I've ever had. Tons of flavors and toppings to choose from, also frozen yogurt! It has a very old-school, home-y vibe...places like this do not exist anymore. They also sell milk to take home--and I definitely recommend the chocolate milk. read more

On the way from Allentown to West Chester on Rt. 100 you pass through this town called Barto and Bally. If you need to put on 5 pounds, this is your choice. You won't have any problem allowing this rich creamy ice cream to melt down your throat. REALLY GOOD, all natural and straight from the farm. We'll be stopping there again and again. In the little town where I live they have "Superior Dairy", but this place is by far was more superior. The ice cream here has such a great consistency and full flavor that really carry. I tried 3 flavors. One I had and some on my brother's and sister-in-law's. Cherry Vanilla, Butter scotch and something else. They were all amazing. Stopped here several years ago for a cone & the ice cream was delicious! Happily found this awesome place again in our travels. They added nice outdoor seating, the ice cream was just as rich & creamy as I had remembered. We sat inside because it was cold outside. Staff was very friendly & the portions were generous. What's not to love?, amazing creamy ice cream in just about every flavor you've ever seen, have a cone, enjoy a sundae or take it with you, ice cream anyway you want it. I've tried many handmade ice creams in and around the area and this really is the best. Now that I am closer I also get my fresh milk here, which ironically is actually cheaper then getting it in the store and obviously better. The staff are extremely friendly, helpful and all around cheerful, small mom and pop store/dairy bar/restaurant, all that home town feel and ambiance with the quality and flavor you'd expect. I won't go anywhere else for my ice cream and my milk and at.$4.00 a gallon why get it in the store?, love the glass bottles too, you can get every kind of milk along with eggs and butter, I believe they also carry homemade soda. We stumbled upon this shop on our way back from Bethlehem, PA. I saw the ice cream sign so in we went. There is lots of outdoor seating on benches. We went in and it wasn't crowded, we ordered "small" cups - geez we should have ordered the "mini" cups. The small was really big and enough for 2 people - so unless you're really hungry, go with the mini size. I think the small was around $4.00 and the mini maybe $3. The ice cream was phenomenal - we ordered pina colada, chocolate peanut butter and chocolate and all flavors were amazing. The seating inside was empty so we opted to stay inside. A few minutes later the place was a zoo with customers and a really long line. Place must have a reputation for great ice cream. If we ever pass by again, we're definitely stopping!! We drive about 25 minutes out of our way to go to Longacre's. Their ice cream is amazingly good, and the ambience is a throwback to another era. There's nothing like getting a cone, and sitting outside on one of the benches watching the cars pull up. There are three sizes of cones - baby, small and large. The "baby" is a generous small at every other ice cream joint; the small is a hefty medium elsewhere and I can't even imagine eating a large. Favorite flavor, hands down, is chocolate peanut butter cup. I've been so tempted to buy packaged ice cream to take home, but I know it wouldn't last a day if we did. Limiting ourselves to the occasional trip to Bally keeps our weight down and makes it a special, fun outing that we look forward to. read more

Ive been going here for at least 35 years Great Ice Cream poor service. Stood in front of the teenaged server for several minutes before she even made eye contact with us. I know it's your summer job, but no need to be so rude.. Especially to children! The kids with us actually had better manners than the girls behind the counter. There's another reviewer that had similar issue, but overall the kids liked the icecream. Mine seemed a little bland, but one of the kids couldn't finish theirs and had a flavor that was more to my liking.
