The Ahi nachos were absolutely delicious. Tuna could have been cut smaller for easier nacho-chip-piling, but the sauces were really good and the tuna was fresh and tender. Baby back rib grilled cheese was also very tasty. We ordered the seafood tortellini and the scallops had a *very* fishy smell and flavor that just kind of tainted the whole dish. Breakfast was meh. Everything was lukewarm, including the coffee that was self-serve and tasted old/bitter. Toast wasn't warm enough to melt the butter they added. Eggs were cooked perfectly (I always order over medium and 90% of the time they aren't cooked properly, so I was pleased with this). One waitress for the whole place and she was impressively efficient. If you're staying at the resort, it's a reasonable option for breakfast on your way out or a sandwich on your way back in for the day. Otherwise there are SO many great restaurant choices nearby.

What I can tell you is that the bartenders are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. You can smoke at the bar. Inside. Yes, it's true! I was surprised there is still a place that permits indoor smoking. I'm not mad about it - I smoke too so it doesn't bother me. In all of my visits, I can never remember ordering food at JJ's, so I can't comment on that. There's a pool table and a vending machine that sells lottery tickets for $1.00. Neat! The seating is only around the bar and for a small place, there seemed to be plenty of room for everyone. Even though we're not locals or regulars, we are never disappointed with a visit to JJ's Dog House. Thanks!

I was surprised to find out that they make their own blue cheese and ranch sauces. They were super good and haven't had great ranch and blue cheese sauce with a bunch of decent sized blue cheese chunks in a while. I also tried their BBQ sauce and it wasn't bad, not too sweet and pretty smokey. Great deals on a pint ($5) and pitcher ($16) of Florida Keys Brewing Co beers. I think it may even beat the actual brewery's prices. I noticed their AC was blowing pretty good and strong. It was a cooler day when I went so I got a little chilly but I'm sure that is a huge bonus when it's the hot summer time there. The bartender was busy with all the football games playing on the big TVs but she was attentive and seemed to have given me the best service she could.
