I asked an old friend to meet me there for lunch. Albeit a quieter time of the day, the decor and stage indicated a much livelier crowd in the evening. Note to self, go back on a Friday night. Our waitress Gatsby was a pure delight. She was prompt with both our drinks and food. We asked a lot of questions and through them all she smiled and left us satisfied with her replies. Now, if you're craving Irish beer or whiskey, they'll be your new favorite stop. We had Guinness, of course, but also, Harps and Smithwicks. Not much of a whiskey person but I did see their selections. We both had the fish and chips. Good and fresh. They have lots of Irish dishes so return trips are on the schedule. I can only imagine a full place and good music playing! What a fun place. Thanks Gatsby! You were the best.

This place is the real deal with Bangers and Mash, Shepherds Pie, Guinness Stew and more. I settled on Fish and Chips (actually cottage fries) that came with wee ramekins of tartar sauce and tangy, sweet coleslaw, and a slice of lemon. Instead of citrus, I chose to liberally sprinkle malt vinegar on my battered cod and potatoes. Yum! The best fish and chips I ever enjoyed was at a diner near the California coast, but Mulligan's is pretty darn close. Although the pub has a hearty beer and cocktail selection, I ordered a soft drink which cost only $2.00 and came with a refill. Now that's a bargain! Since only a few other tables were occupied, the spouse and I got first-class service from a witty Irishman (I think) named Ciaran. (sp?) Later that evening, the pub was hosting live entertainment, and on some nights there's karaoke and other events. If I ever find myself in Johnson City again, I'll be sure to swing by.

An authentic British pub that definitely feels like a go-to spot for a lot of the locals. You'll…read moreavoid a lot of the tourist traffic here with its unique vibe, and you'll come away with a memory of "that cute British pub" when it's all over. NOTES: -This place is run on bare bones staff. I'd guess maybe two cooks and the single server. It is not a place to come if you need quick service or quick food. They're very friendly (even if you're not a local!), but definitely come when you have a lot of extra time. -This place is not accessible in the slightest. You'll need to go up two flights of very steep stairs to make it to the front door. The stairs are on the old side, and I was concerned about one breaking. There is no elevator. -The parking lot is relatively small and shared with a nearby Urgent Care. It's gravel and grass, and people mostly made their "own" spot where they wanted. As this made for a haphazard parking lot with small margins for cars, I wouldn't let a newer driver park here. PROS: -Lots of unique British dishes. We've never seen somewhere serving Bubbles and Squeak and lots of other dishes. If you're not familiar with niche British dishes, you'll probably have to pull out your cell phone to figure out what some of this stuff is - and that's really fun. -Food is really good. It tastes like food-your-mom-would-make instead of gourmet takes on these dishes. It has a really authentic, small business vibe to it. -Unique beers on tap too. You aren't going to find Bud Light or Miller Lite on tap here. All of their beers are unique pub fare. They do offer some of the American favorites in a can/bottle, but this is a great excuse to try beers you wouldn't normally have access too. -Despite the older age of the building, the bathrooms are very modern and very clean. Most gas station bathrooms are in worse shape than the ones here. CONS: -It's definitely a small, "small margins" business, and all of the cons that go along with that. Food took awhile, upcharge for using a credit card, non-focal dishes may have been frozen/reheated/canned, and parking was difficult. That all being said, we're looking to come back again, and the atmosphere (and the taste of their unique star dishes) make it one of those places you'll actually talk about when you're done with your trip instead of forgetting that morning you simply went to Denny's to scarf down pancakes.

Good choices. Limited food but for tourist area very nice vibe…read more Drinks high though and no specials I believe it will be better

Whether it's coffee, a pastry, some bottled drinks, or food, everything here is good quality. Of course, we were paying casino prices, but that is expected. No complaints about the food or drinks. The only suggestion would be to have assistance for people who cannot use the kiosks to order and hold up the lines.

What kind of food court opens most of the restaurants at 4:00 p.m. like this place? Crazy. We decided to keep wandering around the casino and hotel complex and see what else was available but before we left we stopped at the pub in the food court and ordered a couple of drinks. We had one gin and tonic and one old fashioned for a total of $43 not including the tip. On Saturday for dinner we returned and that was a serious mistake. The crowds were insane. Several people mentioned that they had never seen it this crowded but it was because of Larry the Cable Guy being there that evening for a performance. All ordering is done on a set of self-service kiosks that are in the middle of the food court. That was confusing because everyone had to learn from other people that this is the way you order food. It was especially difficult for some of the more senior citizens and whoever thought about putting this in a casino really needs to be replaced. So after you order at the kiosk you then have to listen for your name to be called at the places you ordered. I ordered from the sushi place and from the burger place so I had to stand between them and wait for my name to be called at one and then the other. It's definitely not user friendly if you're ordering multiple meals from multiple stations. The small few pieces of coconut shrimp with fried rice cost $27. It was worth about 7. My hot dog was $13.95 plus a dollar to upgrade to sweet potato fries. It was a regular hot dog. Each of our small fountain drinks was $3. The drink dispensers were only dispensing foam. Take a look at my photo to see. Grand total of $49. The Chinese dish was ready in 10 minutes but the hot dog took 25 minutes. We would not return here unless everything was open and there were no crowds. Git 'er done!

We got the deviled eggs, southwestern Benedict, green tomato Benedict, and the breakfast burrito. Everything was great. I didn't have anything to drink other than water, which seems silly at a place that has beer in the title, but check out the brunch. The servers were mostly younger folks, but really attentive and professional. The vibe is clean and casual. A spot that the local college kids dig, which I wasn't mad about. I'm a kid at heart. My buddy got the ice cream cookie thing and the banana pudding taster. The ice cream cookie will make me quickly turn into the Michelin man, but damn it was good.

Brunch gives you access to a small buffet (fresh fruit, potato salad, chicken salad, pasta salad, brownies, and cookies) that you can help yourself to while waiting for entrees. I split a mimosa carafe which was delightful, their coffee is spectacular as well. While it was packed, I could still speak at a normal volume with my partner and enjoy our valentines morning! The energy and ambiance didn't feel overly hurried and it was overall very welcoming and pleasant. I ate the quinoa benedict and LOVED it!! For two entrees, coffee, and a large mimosa carafe we split about $50.
