In this case, I gave far too much. **5/9/26: UPDATE - SEE SCREENSHOT OF ILONA GUMENYUK'S 5/8/26 EMAIL CONFIRMING REGGIE ARRIVING TO DISTRIBUTE REFUNDS AND REPLACE MY SCREENS -- NONE OF WHICH HAPPENED. AND NOT A WORD FROM ANYONE.** I hired Reggie Villa / A&J Window and Glass to create custom window screens and a balcony screen solution for my apartment. Based on my recommendation, two neighbors also hired him and paid deposits as well. What followed was weeks of missed appointments, repeated promises to "check with the factory and call me back within the hour," long stretches of no communication, repeated promises that things would be ready "next week," and eventually requests for refunds that never materialized. As delays continued, Ilona Gumenyuk repeatedly communicated on the company's behalf regarding scheduling, refunds, and assurances that replacement materials and payments were forthcoming. When Reggie finally arrived to install my window screens, he showed up hours late with screens that were several inches too short and did not fit properly (see photo). Instead of acknowledging the issue, he attempted to explain the large visible gaps as intentional. One screen had to literally be hammered into place. Even after this, I still allowed myself to believe repeated assurances that properly fitted replacement screens and refunds were finally coming. They weren't. Since then, the two neighbors I referred have filed complaints with the Office of the New York State Attorney General Consumer Frauds Bureau, the Better Business Bureau, and local law enforcement. It is also worth noting that the company's Google Business Profile now appears as "Permanently Closed," despite the company continuing to communicate with customers and schedule supposed future work. As a result, customers can no longer post new Google reviews. I strongly encourage anyone considering this company to read the prior detailed negative reviews carefully. I wish I had.

We made maybe 1-2 revisions but the sales guy John R kept messing up the details and sending us incorrect revisions. We are now up to 16! Today is the day for the final bill and they have our shipping address listed in another state, charged us for stuff we can't use and provided almost no helpful information for installation. I don't know if they do it on purpose because they want to discourage self-installation? We called and emailed John at least a dozen times, talked to their engineer twice (nice the first time, jerk the second) and finally got the installation diagram AFTER all this, along with a classic CYA email from John that said something to the effect of, 'I hope you didn't install it before knowing this information.' We finally tried to complain to a manager, Chris R, who was super defensive and finally agreed to assign us a new contact to work with. We unfortunately had a lot of rotted thin plywood underneath our shingles - Kevin gently explained the added cost and made the arrangements to get it done. Despite the unexpected need for an enter re-deck, the crew got everything done within the day and cleaned up beautifully. The ability to see regular progress updates from their photography of the project was extremely helpful, especially the video demonstrating why the redecking was necessary. There was a small mishap with ceiling panel in the garage due to a rotted piece of plywood, and Kevin had a crew out the very next morning to patch and repair. By Labor Day, the weather person said "If you thought THIS summer was hot wait a few years until you remember this summer as the last cool one we had". We have a large Western-facing bow window that was getting direct sun. We put that window in 27 years ago, and it worked perfectly fine. Opened, closed, clear glass, nice screens. Really, a very nice bow window without a single problem. I didn't have window treatments because I like a plain look and it's a living room, not a bedroom. But I felt like I was under a magnifying glass, with the sun concentrating in our living room. The air conditioner would not stop cranking, and it was only getting moderately cool. All my neighbors have the same problem, but solved it with thick drapery which, aside from being expensive (4K for one neighbor!) was just dark. I was out shopping with my parents for window treatments, and my father said "Just get Renewal by Andersen Low-E glass". Now my dad is a frugal guy AND a builder. I couldn't BELIEVE he was recommending replacing perfectly good windows, but he explained "They are the best windows out there, I only use Andersen, and look, my house doesn't get hot". And it doesn't. Well one more hot day later, and I call the Andersen people. They have fliers, commercials, social media ads...I just found one of those numbers and made the call. I might have said "I am roasting alive in my own house". Next week, a consultant, Vito Anasto, comes to the house, and he has his box of samples, and a heat lamp. He was so down to earth, and didn't try to "sell" me anything. In fact, I started talking about OTHER windows, and he asked if I had any idea what windows cost, and I hadn't. So he gave me a ballpark figure and I quickly agreed that we should just discuss the one bow window. It was higher than I expected, but I appreciated his honesty. So he explained how the Low-E windows worked, and I was already getting excited. Then, out comes the heat lamp. Vito said "I usually don't do this demonstration, but since it says here 'Client reports being roasted alive' let me show you exactly how these work". So he takes the heat lamp, opens one of my existing bows, and holds the heat lamp outside. I touch the inside of my glass, and almost burn my hand. Then we decamp to the table, and he has samples. We do the same thing with each of the samples, and with the top-of-the-line sample, it's like a trivet. Cool to the touch! I was SOLD. Vito explained that he doesn't have to really sell the windows, the product sells itself; he's just there to figure out which of the local and national deals--which are ongoing--will help me get the best price. And after some searching and playing on his computer, out comes a price. It was higher than I thought it would be, but it was one price. No add-ons, no surprises later...one and done. Well, I looked longingly at that sample that acted like a trivet, and signed. No regrets.

I don't understand why this business thinks it's a good idea to solicit business by putting adverts…read morein people's mailbox. That alone is an annoying thing to do.. but to make the advertisements intentionally look handwritten and personalized- as if it was some kind of report specific to your home.. and then to make it seem as if there are numerous problems? At the very least that is false advertisement and a scummy, unethical thing to do- at worst that is bordering on criminally fraudulent. Who are you expecting to fool with that anyway? The elderly? Older homeowner who could be easily tricked and manipulated? I've included numerous pictures of their scummy advertisements- and this is not the first, second, third, fourth or fifth one I've received. Probably got at least half a dozen of these. Please stop wasting paper and money by sending these offensive scamphlets out.
