I like this station. It's 5 minutes from the house, which my husband loves since he works in the city. When we first bought our house he wanted to be close to a train station, which we are. One of the reasons I love being near this station is the fact that the town of Babylon is right there. Along with a few restaurants outside of the town. There are a few restaurants on the other side of the station. There are about 4 different parking lots. One on each side of the main train tracks, and two across the street. One is hidden though, and has been on and off blocked off. I don't think there is free parking but if you do end up driving to the station, you'll have to pay $3 for the day. Which if you do that once in a while it isn't that bad. read more

Why is it that the Babylon line is ALWAYS running late? There have been several times I waited...and waited...and waited...for a train that never came or was 10 + minutes late. I haven't experienced this hassle on the Huntington line. The conductors and everything else has been fine, along with the to-be-expected drama of fellow train-goers and their crazy antics. It's close to home and super convenient if you're able to grab the express train. But, this line is perpetually late and that is perpetually annoying. read more

The station is clean, customer service is friendly. The few times I took the train it was on time. The trains are awesome and comfortable. The rush hour sucks if there is not enough seats, it bugs the shit out of me how some selfish people will lean against the pole so there is not space for me to extend my hand and hold on to something, like what the fck! if you lean against the pole to be all selfish then don't give me the nasty look because I am too close to your body trying to grab onto something, like really?! No matter which train I took, it took me an estimated 1 hour to make it to the city NY, making it an average of 2 hours commute to get to work by train, something to consider if you are moving to Long Island. If you are like me, who doesn't mind the commute, then this is all for you. read more

Convenient but smells like pee near the elevator and stairs it's gross and I wish they'd clean. Because it's potent.

I use this station 5 days a week. It's convenient, close to home and trains run extremely often unlike a lot of other stations on this line. One major down side is that you have to pay to park in the lot in front of the train and on surrounding blocks if you're going to commute all day (25 cents/hour in metered lots, $3 all day in private lots). Another downside is that there are a lot of people who just loiter and hang out here, making it feel unsafe. A lot of times I see the same people hanging out downstairs at 7am as I do when I return home from work at 7pm. The station itself also smells funky, especially by the parking ticket machines downstairs and the waiting rooms up on the platform. Other than the normal annoyances of delays and high ticket prices by the LIRR, this station is pretty good compared to most others. read more

I am rushing to an important Meeting I purposely took a Far earlier train than I needed too so the 6:14 from Rockville center Showed up at 6:34 twenty minutes late .the conductor said ( laughing ) " Well we got into Babylon late and We turned around to Go to Penn station Late " laughed again. Said " hey it's Friday night everybody's just gotta relax and chill .. It's not like youre going to work .. I am. For one thing and I'll just about make it on time Maybe... That isn't the point. I work on a Schedual .Supposedly the Railroad does too Yet here I get a " who gives a sh--t attitude" Because it's Friday night and " Oh Well"" I am professional in my work . And I am well traveled there is just no acceptable excuse for this but oh Well .... read more

I like the Babylon station because it's near my home, and because it's a hub of the south shore. You can get express trains to or from here. The reason I don't rate it higher is because of all the usual hassles you have to deal with from time to time when riding the LIRR. read more

Much better then wyandanch, cleaner and safer The cab service is slow there that's what i dont like. Sometimes they make you wait for more then 30 minutes to get a cab. read more

I don't have a car right now and until I get another one after some time I'm going to be frequenting train stations and bus stops, along with bus terminals quite often as I have been doing. This is a great train station, one of the better ones I've stopped in during my travels. It's HUGE! Babylon is one of the main train station hubs for Suffolk County so it's well taken care of. During the day there's actually people working in the waiting room, which is a pretty rare scene now for the MTA so if you need help you can actually speak to an employee in person, you can buy your tickets from a real live person instead of from a machine. The waiting room is huge. The bathrooms are alright but not the greatest, the snack options are decent if you want to grab anything before you hop on the train. Most of the trains leave on time. My biggest gripe is the fact that the waiting room isn't open 24 hours, on rare occasions I am coming home on the train during a late night I'd prefer the waiting room was open so I didn't have to stand out in the freezing cold waiting for a ride back home. read more

The conductor looked right at me trying to enter the eastbound train and he continued to close the doors. The people the lirr hires are extremely rude. I take the train everyday to and from work. Get it together, keep an eye on your employees. It makes your business look really bad and unprofessional. read more

The ticket agents suck especially the females. Their attitudes need to improve at the Babylon LIRR Station. First of all, if I choose to buy an expensive ticket at the booth, I have that right especially when your vending machines have credit card readers. Several times, I had to spend over $200 for tickets; therefore, I would give $50, $100, and many $20 bills to the clerks. The clerks would sigh as if I was bothering them and they spoke in a negative manner. I should be with the one with the attitude paying those expensive tickets. read more
