Second, a mile away is the Port Jefferson ferry to Bridgeport CT, which makes this station one of a rare few to have a corresponding ferry nearby. Third, there's always parking. Fourth, if you live in town, there's a dedicated resident parking lot. Fifth, there are bike racks. Sixth, it's located in upper Port Jefferson, within a short walking distance from plenty of shopping areas. Seventh, it's very well maintained, unlike some other LIRR stations. Eighth, parking is allowed and free 24/7.

The station has a decent size parking lot and a very small sitting area which closes at 4/5 p.m. I have a separate beef with MTA and LIRR but that is a separate issue. Peak hour trains come in the morning towards Manhattan twice an hour from 6-9 am. The train time from KP to Penn Station during peak is anywhere between an hour thirteen minutes to an hour and twenty two minutes. On the weekends and or off peak hours its about 20 minutes more, aka fooooget about it.

The station house has one bathroom, a few shelves of books, and a little newsstand; everything you need and nothing you don't. A few fresh coats of paint would honestly do wonders for the place, but it seems to be holding up. At the very least it smells clean enough. There's only one platform, and it looks similarly dilapidated, though serviceable. The neighborhood is nothing to write home about either, unless you're really into E-list historical landmarks.

No matter what time of day or night this train station has a great amount of people in and out. 10 years ago homeless people use to sleep in the lobby but today that's has changed. Its pretty safe lots of lighting and security in the area. Few but not many stores in the area. Train leaves out every 30 minutes going west. Going east every 45 minutes to an hour. I do like that when you first come off of the station there is a few restaurants right there, so if you're hungry and it's not closing time for them, you can easily run right in sit down and grab something to eat. If you have time. You can also walk right into the town of Babylon and look at the storefront there. Which I find great. The town and restaurants are to the left of the station. There is the Babylon High School right in front of the station. Their field is across the street from the high school, which is fenced in. And right next to the field is Argyle Lake, which is a nice sized park. Pretty much it's a lake with this trail that goes around it and at the other side of the station there is a parking lot for the park, a little playground for kids, and Florist. Which the florist is very small. I do love the fact that you can either go into the town and look at the storefront and see what stores and restaurants you can go into or you can go to the park if it's a nice day to walk around sit down and relax. They are renovating the escalators right now, so you'll have to use the stairs. I think they recently just started doing that. Not sure how long it'll be though.
