Right now there is a lot of construction going on at this station. The waiting room is currently not available and trains can arrive on a different track than the one you're expecting it to due to the construction. Daughter and friend needed to get to LGA, but the trains from Speonk/WHB were few and far between. So I drove them to Babylon, which had MANY trains. The station parking lot was PACKED. Not a single space. I drove around twice, but finally dropped them off near the door. This wasn't ideal, because my daughter had wanted me to stay until the train came, about 30 minutes. There's some construction and many confusing signs. Getting out of the station was confusing, too, since one street is one-way? Ugh. But it's not a bad drive, given that the options are much better in terms of trains to Jamaica. However, if I had needed to park and take the train, it would have been disastro. The parking spaces nearby are either 1 hour, or metered. I'm guessing that the lot is full every weekday, possibly on the weekends too. read more

Here we go, LIRR Babylon is a very busy train station. Now in the process of being remodeled. No matter what time of day or night this train station has a great amount of people in and out. 10 years ago homeless people use to sleep in the lobby but today that's has changed. Its pretty safe lots of lighting and security in the area. Few but not many stores in the area. Train leaves out every 30 minutes going west. Going east every 45 minutes to an hour. Trains , bathroom.are fairly clean. I take the LIRR when Im traveling to the city. Its very convenient. Im looking forward to riding the LIRR for the summer 2026. Happy Yelping. read more

This is the station that I go to now since I moved in. It's about a 15 minute walk depending how fast you walk in a five minute drive. That's how far it is for me. I do like that when you first come off of the station there is a few restaurants right there, so if you're hungry and it's not closing time for them, you can easily run right in sit down and grab something to eat. If you have time. You can also walk right into the town of Babylon and look at the storefront there. Which I find great. The town and restaurants are to the left of the station. There is the Babylon High School right in front of the station. Their field is across the street from the high school, which is fenced in. And right next to the field is Argyle Lake, which is a nice sized park. Pretty much it's a lake with this trail that goes around it and at the other side of the station there is a parking lot for the park, a little playground for kids, and Florist. Which the florist is very small. I do love the fact that you can either go into the town and look at the storefront and see what stores and restaurants you can go into or you can go to the park if it's a nice day to walk around sit down and relax. They are renovating the escalators right now, so you'll have to use the stairs. I think they recently just started doing that. Not sure how long it'll be though. read more

mostly reliable transportation, trains are usually on time or a few minutes late, not a big deal. the buses are usually a few minutes late. however, i try to take the train cause it is faster and more reliable, but sometimes if i'm not going too far, i'll take the bus, especially if i'm going to deer park to go on to the ronkonkoma branch or like going to a specific place like the mall or a store. i've never really had any complaints from the suffolk or nassau or huntington area rapid transit buses, only one time the suffolk bus but that's about it. the only bad thing is that if the bus is late and you're transferring the buses are usually 10-20 mins early and you could possibly miss the bus at the stop you have to get off to that's the only disadvantage when you have to transfer to another bus. i always show up 15 mins before the bus is supposed to come to the main stops, the main stops you don't gotta worry about. the first stop is the easiest in my opinion. the other stops, the buses could be there 10-20 mins earlier than the bus schedule says the bus will be there, the bus that i have to connect to could be 10-20 mins early at the stop and if the first bus i'm on is late, you could possibly have to wait for the next bus available. i'm here all the time cause this is how i get around ny cause i do not drive. i am a huge rail fan, i love watching trains go by it's my favorite thing to do is hop on a lirr train. i also love the suffolk and nassau buses. my only complaints of babylon station is that the elevators kind of smell and the bathrooms and waiting rooms are locked. just like at any other train station always make sure you are on alert for anything cause stuff can happen sometimes. just wine your business and walk by. i've never had any safety concerns for the babylon train station, but some other ones you have to be careful. *especially at night* i would watch your surroundings in patchogue station at night time. but any train station could be dangerous at nighttime i've never had any problems, just wind your business, just go to where you're going to and you'll be fine. i've been in babylon my whole life, i'm in my twenties and i've been going here since i was a kid. it's a well lit, lots of boards telling you the status of the trains which is very helpful! you can always use the lirr app too. only thing is i wish it was more near me, it's 2 miles from me and it is a hike to walk there if i have no one to drive me. i do not drive due to my anxiety. it's just not for me. tickets are somewhat reasonable, i do use the train a lot to go see my friends or go to the city to have a good time. i'm just trying to get by on long island like every other commuter. read more

By first appearance, I was struck by how large a train stop it is here in Babylon, a modern depot of commuters of work and pleasure. Exiting the train from large electric doors to the platform and walking down to street level, you cant miss viewing the parking area for locals, its huge. Cabs, ATM"s, grub & beet and a mailing store are all in sight coming down off the last step of the staircase. Nicest conductor ever on my ride home. A tallish young fella, a great representation of the Long Island Railroads new blood. read more

With the proposed car fee driving into the city, for $23 - a return trip from Babylon Station. Can't beat that.

Easy transfer location to Penn Station. Station clean and not crowded. Staff courteous and attentive. No issues

It is better then driving but they seem to have a lot of rail and signal problems.Village of Babylon will rob you every chance they can so keep the meters fed and inspection up. read more

Standard LIRR station. Lots of trains come through here. It's safe, well lit. I'm not sure if all the train cars have plugs near the seats. Electronic tickets are sweet. They ask to see them again at Jamaica. That makes no sense. Leave the little ticket on the seat back. That should tell you everything you need to know about my destination. If not, fix the system. The station is okay and the bathrooms are okay. Here is why I give this station only one star. The female ticket agents who work the morning shift are so rude! They act like they are too busy or they ignore you completely. This is the job that they are paid to do so why disrespect hard working people who pay for their tickets? I hope that the person who is their supervisor reads this review and let's them know the people of Babylon deserve to be treated better! There are a lot of people who would love to have a good job like the job they have. If they don't want to work at the Babylon LIRR they should quit. I'm not going to buy my tickets from here anymore and if you go to get your tickets from this station try another time in the afternoon or evening. I went to a window clerk at the Babylon Station. I placed my money in the slot and I requested a ticket. This clerk yelled at me asking me what was this? I did not know what she was referring to so I just looked at her and I repeated my request. She yelled the same question at me looking down at the money I placed inside the slot. I answered her the money for the ticket. She said that she can't break her nails unfolding the money and she continued to mumbled other things. Took the money and throwing the money against the window inside the booth. After all that, she gave me the ticket and said," Have a Nice Day". Now it is bad enough that customers pay high prices for subpar services, we had to be disrespecting too. Here is an idea. Fire the clerks and put more vending machines. read more
