This is the station that I go to now since I moved in. It's about a 15 minute walk depending how fast you walk in a five minute drive. That's how far it is for me. I do like that when you first come off of the station there is a few restaurants right there, so if you're hungry and it's not closing time for them, you can easily run right in sit down and grab something to eat. If you have time. You can also walk right into the town of Babylon and look at the storefront there. Which I find great. The town and restaurants are to the left of the station. There is the Babylon High School right in front of the station. Their field is across the street from the high school, which is fenced in. And right next to the field is Argyle Lake, which is a nice sized park. Pretty much it's a lake with this trail that goes around it and at the other side of the station there is a parking lot for the park, a little playground for kids, and Florist. Which the florist is very small. I do love the fact that you can either go into the town and look at the storefront and see what stores and restaurants you can go into or you can go to the park if it's a nice day to walk around sit down and relax. They are renovating the escalators right now, so you'll have to use the stairs. I think they recently just started doing that. Not sure how long it'll be though.

With the proposed car fee driving into the city, for $23 - a return trip from Babylon Station. Can't beat that.

Had a quick stop in Hicksville on my way to Plainview. This is actually my first time visiting this…read morestation. Here's some facts: 'Hicksville is a commuter rail station on the Main Line and Port Jefferson Branch of the Long Island Rail Road, located in Hicksville, New York. It is the busiest station east of Jamaica, Penn Station, and Grand Central Madison by combined weekday/weekend ridership. ' My commute from Atlantic Terminal to Jamaica to connect to Ronkonkoma line was seamless. The ride took @15 minutes to get to Hicksville. When I arrived, there are eight buses to connect to other parts of Nassau County, which is extremely useful. The taxi stand looked deserted thus unsure if it is viable. I walked across the road to a nearby Dunkin Donuts to order an Uber to get to my destination. The train station was clean and there's of course an information booth to assist with connections. There are restaurants and stores around ten minutes away via bus or Uber. Commuting home there was a bit of delay heading to Penn Station; it was a Friday late afternoon. Thus, expect a crowded train during the summer with beachgoers, events happening at Madison Square Garden {,Penn Station stop) travelers making Jamaica connections to JFK airport.

I use this station quite often and it's very convenient…read more There's an indoor waiting area on street level, where there's a manned ticket booth as well as ticket machines. You should definitely get your ticket before you board your train. They also have restrooms here but they are closed off hours. There also a small convenience store here as well. Drinks, newspapers, smokes, lotto etc There's an escalator that takes you up to the train platforms. There's also elevators as well. Getting down is stairs and elevators only. They also have indoor waiting areas(heated in the winter) on the train platform as well. These are only open during "regular" hours though. There's plenty of parking here and a Dunkin Donuts as well.
