I live out of state and needed to help my mom who is 96 get a taxi to a doctor's appt. Austin was so patient and went above and beyond to ensure he had the pickup and drop locations correct and that my mom would get to her appt on time! read more

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED After a frightening and stressful short cardiac admission at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, being not from the area and having no knowledge of local transportation options, I called purportedly 24/7 nearby West Islip Taxi at 1:00 a.m. on 5/17/23. The person who answered the phone spoke in a rude and brusque manner, hanging up on me after one sentence (go read my one star review of them). At the suggestion of a kind Good Sam employee I called Lindy's taxi. They got a polite and friendly driver to the hospital in less than 10 minutes, charged a reasonable fee, and got me home efficiently and promptly. BOTTOM LINE: Consider Lindy's Taxi for your airport and other transportation needs. I had a great experience with them. read more

Almost every driver that picked me up was either high or drunk the cars are dirty old and feel like they are falling apart. I white knuckle the whole way read more

Called the night before for a pick up early the next morning to go a few blocks to the train station. They never showed up! In the past they were always there before the requested pick up time. read more

All of it. Lindy's taxi is always great. Driver respectfull and friendlevi would use them always.

If I could zero stars I would. This cab company is a joke. My mom had a cut on her nose and the cab driver stopped the car and kicked her out because she was bleeding a little bit. He screamed and yelled at her and my 60 year old mother was forced to walk home. They also took her money because he refused to drive her until she paid so on top of getting kicked out of the cab, she basically got stolen. read more

Why I have dropped my rating.... Several weeks back I opted to take take a taxi so I could enjoy privacy on my way to my destination. A few minutes of solitude where I could sort my paperwork or send a few texts to fellow co-workers or clients. BUT NO!!!! I find that my FULL FARE taxi ride is not MY taxi ride at all. We stop to pick up not one, but two more riders along the way before dropping me off at my destination. If I wanted to be crammed like a sardine next to people I don't know, I'd take a bus. I also feel ripped off having to pay a full fare for a SHARED ride. Next time it's either UBER or LYFT for me because at least I can decide if I want to share my ride, and if I do, I will get a reduced rate for doing so. Do yourself a favor and use other services. What a difference from my last experience with them. read more

I have used Lindy's in the past with decent results. However I called yesterday and got a recording asking what town I was in and what town I was going to. The expectation was I would be getting a callback since "they were busy helping other customers". I called 2X and got no response. I was frantic since I needed to get to the doctor. Luckily I called Los Tios Taxi and Jose was here in 5 minutes. What a godsend. Lindy's is a disaster. Dodn'tcall them. read more

They were courteous & on time. Both the driver and the dispatcher were very pleasant. I don't know what the other reviews are about, but I didn't experience that. As far as price goes, they told me up front so I agreed to the price. It may not be cheap, but their insurance and fees probably aren't either. I would use them again No problems at all. read more

The word has not ben invented to describe how horrible this company is. I am a disabled person who was supposed to be picked up at 8pm and when I called to see why my cab was late, the girl on the phone was mean and nasty and my cab never came. I was stranded for 4 hours and I asked someone to call me an Uber. I didn't get home until 1 am and had to pay with my disability money, which isn't much. I will never use Lindy's again, and I suggest you don't either, they are the worst! read more

I contacted Lindy's taxi as I needed a local ride. The dispatcher was rude and hung up on me. I called back and got the same woman who called me "honey". I asked how long it would take for the taxi to come and she replied "soon". She couldn't bother to tell me if it would be 15 minutes or half an hour. Soon is not really an acceptable answer. I was standing outdoors in freezing temperatures waiting for this taxi to come. While on the phone with this dispatcher, she changed the price of the ride from nine to $15. I was picked up by a very nice gentleman who took me for my ride. He couldn't control the price but then again he couldn't of been kinder. If this company wants to thrive I suggest they educate or replace this dispatcher. I would take away stars because the dispatcher, however the driver was stellar! read more

Worst customer service ever get mad when u have problem as a female with some random guy in back seat with me then they talk shit to u for not wanting to share ride and called me names worst cab company ever prices are never consistent and they are complete jerks not all female riders wanna sit with some drunk man in backseat and be harassed or touched unsafe and very unprofessional read more

Man on the phone and in the booth were incredibly rude. I was in a rush and called a head and they couldn't have been less helpful. When I got to the booth I was the only customer and let them know I was in a rush. No help. Beyond rude. One star because my driver was amazing and kind. read more

I have to say it.... got another ride with yet another excellent driver today. When I was on the phone, the dispatcher apologized for the bad experience she had been told about and said that the owner had been notified. An honest apology and every other driver has been excellent. Lindy's stays on my speed dial. read more

Worst taxi company ever. Driver didn't show. After a half hour, and a phone call they said some will be there shortly. Never showed up! Find another taxi company this place is run bg assholes. read more

Had one hour to make a train after a local wedding in east Islip, expecting to make a connection in Babylon. I left my phone number to be called at the door or otherwise located on a residential street. Dispatcher said no more than a 10 minute wait. I called after 15 minutes, was brusquely told "she's on her way" and hung up on. Time passes and I call again with 5 minutes to spare on having any hope on making my train connection, I was informed that the driver has picked up 5 people (!) since I called (each or in total?). My train was completely missed. Eventually called another cab company to satisfy my needs. I arrived to my final destination in New York City 3 hours later than planned due to this company's negligence. read more

I'm not sure how I was going to get charged $50 to go 17 mins from West Babylon to Levittown. I called a different company and they said $20. After that my plans were cancelled, so I went the next day and took uber. It cost me $10. YES, $10. !!!!!!!!! Anyway, I think it's a shame that they're doing that to the locals. read more

Had to take the train to Babylon because the Sayville trains were not running due to the storm. When I got off the train I approached a Lindy cab driver and asked how much to Sayville train station. He wanted $50.00!!!! Not sure if this is the regular price or if they jacked up the rates because of the demand. Needless to say, I refused to use this cab company. Waited 5 minutes for my Uber at half the cost!! USE UBER. THESE CAB COMPANIES ARE RIPPING OFF LONG ISLANDERS!! read more

Do not call them. Do not support them. I witnessed one of their drivers run a red Light and a bus stop sign redlight almost hitting a child getting off the bus and crossing. Called the company and got some angry dispatcher who brushed me off. I said why don't you care??? She hung up. They don't care that one of their drivers during cool hours almost hit a kid while running a stop sign. Why would you give them your business??? Call literally any other company. read more

Lindy's Taxi - Taxis Near Me

This car service need to be out of business they're very rude . They need better car service in Long Island

Lindy's Taxi is one of the worst businesses I've ever encountered. I've unfortunately required their services on a few occasions to drive me the 5 minutes to or from Babylon Station. Every single time I call them, I dread the interaction. The phone seems to always be answered by the same guy no matter when I call. He's curt and rude and seems completely bothered by the fact that I called. Somehow, the estimated time is always 10-15 minutes. He does not take a phone number or say thanks/bye. He just simply hangs up and you have no idea if he heard you correctly or if he's really going to send a taxi. The taxi that eventually pulls up is always old, uncomfortable, and smelling of cigarette smoke. I've had taxis with back seats kept together by black tape. I've had taxis without a side mirror. Every single taxi creaks and rattles. And the drivers are just as rude as the dispatcher. Is it just the Long Island attitude or do they just hire people who do not care? My most recent interaction was an early morning pick-up to Babylon Station to catch a flight at JFK. I was quoted the usual "10-15 minutes", so I went outside at the 10 minute mark. Nobody showed up and I called 5 minutes later. I was then told the taxi had shown up and nobody was outside, so he left. If the taxi did actually drop by, it was much earlier than expected and he did nothing to try to find me. Perhaps the dispatcher could take down a phone number and the driver could have called me to let me know he was outside? I had to ask the dispatcher to send the taxi back. When the driver finally pulled up, he saw my suitcase, asked if I was going to JFK, and immediately started berating me. "The locals and regulars know how we work and don't waste our time". He essentially yelled at me and complained about the second trip the entire ride to the train station. At some point, he pointed to a black SUV parked at 7-11 and said, "look, that's an Uber. Maybe you should have just had him take you." Thanks for the tip, Mr. taxi driver! I don't know if he was more bothered about making the second trip or about the fact that I'm not a native Long Islander. Unfortunately, I was not surprised at all and this seemed exactly the sort of service I'd expect from Lindy's. They also have no meter. The price seems to be completely dictated by the dispatcher and, somehow, no two trips ever cost the same even from the same starting and ending location. You also have no idea how much they'll charge you until the ride is over. The driver radios the dispatcher and the rude guy rattles off a price. Worse, if you get a taxi from the train station, they often put multiple people in the same taxi. But they charge every single person a full fare. Where else would this be acceptable? After a long flight and train ride, the last thing I want is to be shoved into the back of an uncomfortable taxi with two strangers and have them all know where I live. They don't ask if it's okay to take a second or third person, they just do it. The drivers see this as completely normal practice. It seems they have a monopoly on taxi service in Suffolk and they know this, so they have absolutely no interest in providing a decent experience. They really just do not care. I normally use Uber when I can, but service during early morning is difficult on Long Island, so I'm forced to call Lindy's Taxi. Lindy's Taxi takes everything that is wrong with the taxi industry and makes it even worse. Uber or a competing taxi service will eventually be the end of them. read more

Worst taxi service. Long waits make u late, and terrible operator who hangs up and rushes calls. Never calling them again. Whichever of the ten different numbers they have. The deserve no stars, BOOOOO read more

I haven't used them yet, but am truly afraid to... I called several Taxi's to get a rate from North Babylon to Babylon Train Station... The same guy answered and was so rude and nasty... I guess he answers for all of them. I can't afford to miss my early train and wish there was another transportation I can get... Does anyone have any suggestions... ??? This company needs to be reported - not everyone has a car... This would be a great business for a reliable person to start! If I use them I will give an update review... Wish me luck!! read more

Okay first off the dispatcher sounded extremely uninterested in taking calls. He was very rude and didn't even respond when I said thank you he just hung up. He also said it would be 15 minutes which ended up being 25 minutes. The taxi driver himself was okay though. read more

Fuck these people to death. I called in needing a taxi quickly after the Uber guy literally never showed up. They told me it would be 20-30 minutes. Once in a while I use a taxi. Had used another company but saw my neighbor using Lindy's and the cabs were immaculate as opposed to really run down. Had a cab come yst a/m for a Dr. appt. They taxi came quickly but the driver was the nicest person you'd ever meet. My Dr's office wasn't open yet and he made sure I was OK before he left. Nice, incase there was a problem and I needed to go back home. I'm writing because no one writes unless angry. This man was so nice I hoped his boss would see this and give him credit. THANKS Will use again and highly recommend. what a pleasant cab driver. read more

Worst service ever. We called at 5:45pm didn't get picked up til 6:30. When they said 20 min. Then we used them again to go back home. Bad idea. The guy was rude, gave us an attitude the minute we stepped into the car. He said him and other people at the bar which we weren't sitting near, we were in the back of the restaurant we're yelling for the cab. So we walk out and he's like I don't know how you guys didn't hear me. First off you said 10-15 min it was only 5 min so we finished our drinks and we're getting up from our table when we heard all the commotion. Then you proceed to have an attitude towards us the entire ride home? You kidding me right? Nope very rude so unprofessional! Get new drivers who don't have an attitude and make people feel so uncomfortable. Horrible, will never use them again. Disgusted!! read more

don't bother. take an uber. driver was a hothead and its same price for an uber to take you ALONE to your destination and get you there faster. was extremely ungrateful and complained that i wanted to pay with card instead of cash after giving him a nice tip. won't drive with them again. read more

Never use this taxi ever, arrogant, rude, incompetent and unprofessional. Dispatcher lied on phone saying can driver would call on arrival. I waited outside can was a no show no call, I called ordered second taxi which was a no show no call as I waited outside for a third taxi it was a no show no call. Dispatcher said it was my fault even though the taxi did not show up. Honestly most disrespectful person I have ever talked to in my life, horrible at running a business and dealing with people, I highly recommend you never use this company there are better ones out there read more

Horrible customer service. hang up and call another taxi company. This was the one that handles Babylon, 631-669-0900. I have never spoken to a more rude person in my life. These people are in the customer service business? Go elsewhere!!!!! read more

I've taken this service many times, until I downloaded Uber. The dispatcher is rude, a few of the drivers are intimidating, the cars smell, one of the drivers smoked while I was in the car. I've had another driver go on a sexist anti-Hilary rant during election season. (A political discussion should never be a something a cab driver brings up, unprofessional and unnecessary.) Late night, they always pack the car with extra drunk people going in the same direction which has led to wildly uncomfortable rides with intimidating men, with no driver intervention for borderline harassment in the backseat. Essentially a woman's worst nightmare in a cab company. Overall, rude, unprofessional, also they're weird and pushy when you come down the stairs of the train station. read more

Grateful for this thoughtful staff and driving team. I work in Manhattan but live in Babylon. My son had an emergency orthodontist issue where his brace was piercing his tongue. I never write reviews. But this company, (the one serving the Amityville area, at least) is the WORST. They are consistently late, even when called well in advance. No one seems to care if you have an appointment to make, or a train to catch. Sometimes they've just completely no-showed, but they have a monopoly on the area. If you have ANY other way to get around, do that first. read more

There dispatcher is horrible he wouldnt listen kept speaking over me they charge me a set price one day and the next day charged me $1.50 more to go to the same place they say the coming right away and take a half hour the driver i had was not sanitary the car was disgusting and the drivers hygiene was even worst his smell made u wanna puke no one should have to deal with that on there way to work... i dont recommend them to no one HORRIBLE SERVICE!! read more

This taxi service is mentally ill. I have never been so disappointed in a taxi company. I use them from time to time, and each time it is nothing short of a disappointment. If you have to get anywhere at least a half hour late, then this is the taxi service for you. You'll be told that you'll wait 15-20 minutes and you'll be waiting an hour.Save your time, energy and frustration and just try to Lyft, Uber it Juno because it's half the price and a fraction of the time used. I'd give half a star if I could!!!! read more

Extremely rude and discourteous from the office people to the drivers. They have absolutely no customer service skills. They don't care how long you have to wait for a car and don't care if they make you late. They tell you that YOU need the taxi and the taxi company doesn't need you. Disgusting company. Just wanted to update-my brother was using the taxi service today and he called over an hour before the time he needed to be picked up. The car never came and he subsequently missed 3 trains in a row. Do not use this company if you need a ride.
