We contracted with Long Creek Construction to add a deck to our house in 2019. It is quite a big deck and quite high with a stairway down to our back yard. They did a beautiful job and this year we contracted with them to replace our large windows with a door from our dining room to the deck - again their work was impeccably done. The company was alway clear about what would happen and when. The crew was great in both instances. We would not hesitate to use their services. Just say no, save yourself the headache. This group tagged along with the Struxures Pergola rep. I assumed because of the association with Struxures that Long Creek was a reputable company. I'm sincerely regretting my decision to hire this company. In exchange for paying much higher prices I've received sub-par service. They've literally performed way worse in every way than the Mom and Pop contractors my neighbors used for their decks. Every construction project will typically have something go wrong. The vendors' ability to problem solve these issues is what separates the best from the rest. This company is not even close to a best in class contractor. The lead sales rep and supposed co-owner, Carlos Morales has proven highly irresponsible and unprofessional. Between infighting about which brother started the company and who's responsible for issues this has been an undesirable experience from day 1. The last and final straw for me which prompted this review was their failure to correctly install glass panel floors in my deck. The team did not follow the included instructions that came with the panels, which they clearly had because they left them behind for me. Four months and a series of no shows later the flooring correction STILL has not been done. So now I'll be hiring a qualified company to correct their work and taking them to court for reimbursement. Complete SCAM! I will be sure to share my experience with anyone who decides to use this deplorable company! Carlos is a fast talker & will indeed say what he thinks you need to hear in order for him to close the deal. We entered into an agreement with Long Creek in Sept, being told things should move relatively quickly with little interruption (Carlos also ordered materials which were delivered around this time before permits were approved). For months my partner & I were led on (Often times ignored) by Carlos about the status of permits, frequently placing blame on the county & Covid restrictions. At one point during this process Carlos advised us that we would need to sign an additional form for approval of our screened deck/patio. Upon signing, Carlos was asked an approximate timeframe & in his fast talking nature he sugar coated the truth. After nearly 3 months, we decided to contact the County ourselves only to find out a decision had been made on our permits (Partially Approved) months prior, however Carlos & his team never notified us. We discovered that Long Creek advised the county (Without speaking with us) that we would amend our plans & move forward with basically 50% of what the original drawings show. When confronted, Carlos begin to avoid what we were clearly able to determine to be the truth (Based on email threads provided by the county) & once again attempted to tell us what he thought we would want to hear. Obviously, at this point we decided to cancel the deal, which led to another serious issue. Of our $10k deposit paid, Carlos advised that the company paid roughly $4k in permitting fees which would be deducted from the deposit to be refunded. We advised Carlos that we would like to see detailed receipts of what was paid when he returned our money to verify costs. Carlos notified us that he would present proof of payment while dropping off our money. The day of, Carlos left a check in our door for HALF of our original deposit, with no explanation or proof of what was paid for permitting! We had to replace two 20-year old decks due to wind and water coming off the Bay. The first deck was on the second floor, and the next deck was the third floor and is, essentially, the ceiling of the living room. So it was a tricky project. Their problem solving was terrific -- they helped us solve a water management issue we hadn't cracke,d even with new gutters. The decks are gorgeous and every detail is perfect. Couldn't even get an estimate from them after they came to my home. I even gave them architectural drawings, which any idiot could use to do a take off. When I would call to inquire on the status...no response. Text...no response. Email...no response. For an entire month. I eventually wised up and realized that if this is how they deal with estimates...then their project execution must be a disaster not only to start, but to actually complete. Feeling like I dodged a cannonball at this point, especially considering the horrible reviews. Avoid Long Creek Construction at all costs! I signed a contract with Lowe's (on 2438 Market St NE Washington, DC 20018) for a new fence and they contracted the project out to Long Creek Construction. My contract was signed and paid for in full in April 2017 and it said my fence would be a day project that would be completed in 1 month. Finally, after almost a 1.5 years and countless appointments, emails, etc. in August 2018 my fence was completed. This was the biggest nightmare of a project! Coordination of supplies and schedule between Lowe's and Long Creek Construction was insanely bad... My first appointment (the day my fence was to be built and completed) Lowe's and Long Creek Construction had such bad communication and organization that my old fence was removed by Long Creek and the supplies for the new one was not deliver by Lowes. So they left me with no fence for weeks and then Lowes left all the supplies in my yard with no fence (see photo). Lowes left the supplies uncovered in my yard for days and then it rained and I was stuck with a block of cement that was rock hard and unusable. I had to take over coordinating the whole project from almost the very beginning. I had constant problems with both Lowe's and Long Creek Construction for the entire 1.5 years of this project. Every stage of the process I had to constantly follow up with Lowe's and Long Creek Construction to completed their contracted obligations. They didn't put the poll in to protect my fence for many months which caused my fence to be hit while I waited and it destroyed the fence. I had to live with a huge hole in my fence (see photo) for several months. Then when they finally put the poll in they used cheap materials because these concrete polls usually last for decades and I recently had to buy a new one (only a little over a year later) as it was hit and bent by a car and the poll hit the fence. I could write a novel about how horrible this experience was... but I'll just say that this was the worst project I've ever seen. The poor communication, unprofessionalism, and incompetency I experienced with both Lowe's and Long Creek Construction was appalling. Although I will say that Lowe's is slightly more responsible since I signed the contract with them and they were supposed to lead the coordination but both companies were at fault thought this nightmare project. read more

So the owner Carlos will tell you whatever you need to hear to take your money. Very shady salesman that I /we ever met along with being very unprofessional if he does not agree with you. He's all about money lied to my family and several occasions even violated MHIC policy with the max you can take for a deposit which is 1/3 . He told us something completely different so I contacted MHIC myself who told me that was illegal. At first he did not want to give us our refund back even lied about my HOA and county status which was never approved but told us everything was good to go..Stay away from long creek construction I recommend Mid Atlantic deck and fence or deck connection they do PG County also. read more

Long Creek will leave you up the creek without a paddle. PLEASE don't hire these guys unless you are prepared to wait indefinitely for project completion. ***The delay on Long Creek's part had nothing to do with COVID-19*** My mistake was in contracting with Lowe's, who subcontracted with Long Creek Construction to install my fence. The crew routinely showed up unannounced, typically after missing a scheduled appointment, and acted as if it was no big deal. Even after I repeatedly complained to Lowe's and to Long Creek management (verbally and in writing), nothing changed. They started my project in December 2020 and just finished it today. I had to repeatedly call, e-mail, complain loudly, elevate complaints, etc., to even get appointments scheduled. For example, they were supposed to come yesterday to replace a fence slat that they warped when cutting it prior to installation last December. However, they didn't show up, even after I was told twice yesterday, morning and late afternoon, that they were going to do so. At 7:30 am this morning they showed up on my doorstep as if they were expected. I had to cancel another standing appointment, which was embarrassing, but if I had not done so, they probably would have never finished the project. Thankfully, the County inspector showed up right after they finished and gave the project a "pass" where he had "failed" it before. To say I would never recommend Long Creek to anyone else is an understatement. My review of Lowe's is going to be even worse because they added no value whatsoever. They took my money and left me hanging for months. This is how they treated a Vet, someone they claim to honor for my service! Believe me, the so-called Veterans discount was not worth it. My only consolation is that the company that supplied the fencing materials stands behind what they sell and is locally owned and operated. Hire Long Creek at your own risk. read more

The crew was without hesitantion one of the best that the companies have...but on the other hand .dealing with Carlos the president of this company is just like others have daid...Con...he comes on like he has your best interests at hand when all he sees is $$$$... Don't think I would not like to make money but when you know you can over charge when you feel it's easy to con people... He will give you an estimate...interesting how he can compute the cost without even checking what materials would be needed.. He will sell you on the extras that he will provide that will raise the cost of his estimate. Make sure you get the estimate from him He will change the price on you as he did with others in tge community.. He is from the beginning hard to respond.. I had to always reach out to him..he will not inform you changes unless you send a text. The real issues arise when we changed one of our projects which was simple since they had just started the deck. We originally had asked to have a roof over our existing deck(*cost15,000 ) Then we said scrap that and just do a deck that will cover the existing deck inplace of a roof so we could use it from our bedroom..ok this was on or about 18 July 2020..by the time he figured out one deck and then was giving us the other price it came to 50,000...on or about 22 July he was doing the contract in his truck and came in with 54,000...we asked why..many excuses.. Ok, one project28,000 the other 26,000 The day they started on my large deck it was when we said...scrap the deck over the existing deck and we might as well do the room addition..Carlos said no problem need to do it now ...ok I told him to scrape the 26,000 deck which the same deck I paid 15,000..not sure how it became 11,000 more..ok he said i can just subtract the new one and give you credit..I said no scrap the first..he was trying to tell me that he would subtract..that didn't happen..he claimed he would make it work...not..at the end of the day he added 54,000 plus the room addition for 28,000...82,000 with 4,000 back i told him it was not correct he tried to fast talk and con his way by explaining what was involved..I will continue...please stand by!.. read more

This might take a minute to read, but it's worth it. We also had the misfortune of dealing the the combination of Lowe's on Rt 450 and Long Creek Construction after signing a contract for a 9 x 5 ft porch. I will admit that the communication between Lowe's and LCC is horrendous, however I have to give LCC credit because as the sub-contractor, they came through in the end. The customer service team at Lowe's is full of excuses, and it appears that they played me against LCC by saying it was LCC's fault that the project continued to experience setbacks that should have been avoided (wet materials, missing materials, etc.) We signed this contract on 6/2/2016. On 6/23/2016 materials were delivered and left to the elements. It rained a total of six (6) times on the materials, and the twelve (12) bags of Sakrete hardened and spilled on our brand new patio. Although we've sent numerous emails about the wet materials, delay concerns and non-existent customer service, not one rep from Lowe's came out to our residence to assure us that they were taking our concerns seriously until 8/4/2016. The management at Lowe's did not have enough sense to remove the hardened bags of Sakrete, and now they have to devise a plan to repair my patio. The store manager at Lowe's (Mr. Fleshman) told us that any complaint sent above his head would be re-routed back to him for resolution. He made sure I understood that the BUCK STOPS with HIM, and that he has no concern about customer complaints. He is so arrogant and confident that his job is SAFE, that he has excluded his name from the email chain in an effort to cover his tracks. If he say's he knew nothing about this, I'm prepared to string together each email we've sent with him attached to prove otherwise. This SMALL job should not have taken from 6/2/2016 until 8/5/2016 to complete. I will NEVER contract another job through Lowe's, and I'm in the process of sending a blanket email to the Lowe's chairman of the board and everyone under him so that they will know that the management at this location is simply in it for the money, and has no interest in repeat sales or customer service. A BIG thank you to the LCC team of professionals who actually DID THE WORK (Henry G, Henry M, Omar, Melvin & Wyron). With the proper materials and an experienced crew, LCC came through in the end and made things right. The attention to detail and overall customer service was above and beyond the efforts of Lowe's. I would recommend Long Creek Construction to family and friends. I am very confused with the amount of negative reviews for Long Creek. I recently purchased a fence from Lowes and they were subcontracted to complete the install. To be honest, my project was a complete disaster, but none of that was the fault of Long Creek. They worked hard to schedule an install time to come out and install my fence, and when I couldn't meet them, they came out while I wasn't there, even going to lowes to pick up the materials. When all was said and done my fence was installed in 2 days and pretty much looks fantastic. While I am still working through some issues with lowes. Was trying to give a local company a chance to get this work done for the house we have. Guy came the same day to do a walk through and give ideas. We were sold and requested a quote which we were promised within a week. A month later and we were still waiting for the quote. Called the guy back and he doesn't even remember us. So much for being a team player. I give two states because the ideas he have will possibly be used to help improve our home. Definitely wouldn't recommend for any work though. This company was utterly fantastic from beginning to end. the receptionist was sweet and polite. the men who did the work, showed up on time, got right to work, and threw the old shingles to the area I asked them to, so our garden wouldn't be affected. they were polite, helpful, professional and accommodating. combine all of that with a thorough clean up after they were done and we couldn't be happier. this was so refreshing. I mean to have a roof replaced and not even have to argue or stress with the work or workers? they will go down as one of my top 5 contractors ever. amazing! btw, Lowe's gets some of this credit also. the roof looks beautiful. read more
