We had also looked into quicken loans (who led us on a wild goose chase) SO by the time I contacted Northwestern I was doubtful about this whole "buying a house" business and I was pretty sure we were going to be stuck in our overpriced rental until we eventually got priced out with lease renewals. When we entered escrow on it we began getting inspections and bids and found proof that they lied about all kinds of expensive things....they actually had gotten a written bid on a total re pipe job because of burst pipes since the house wasn't winterized in time. The agent didn't disclose this little fact and wouldn't allow us to turn on the water to inspect the pipes. Hmmmm... Thankfully, in a small town the contractors know each other and talk about their work to each other so we found out about this inspection and bid through word of mouth. I actually have a copy of the written bid to this agency from the contractor dated weeks BEFORE we entered escrow. The agent, in fact, told our agent that there had been NO inspection other than the pump house during the previous escrow period that fell through. They were aware the well was going dry but told us the pump didn't work so we wouldn't check. We sent out a contractor to get a bid on the pump and he was able to do a flow test and found the well was going dry and we would need to dig a new well. There was nothing wrong with the pump. Interestingly, the bank put in new carpet...wonder what that sub floor looks like.. Foreclosures are always a bit tricky, but it sure doesn't help when the listing agent doesn't disclose (or is actually dishonest about) things he/she does know. Selling a property "As-is" doesn't negate an agency's responsibility to disclose what they are aware of and doesn't absolve them of the responsibility to be truthful. Where we come from this could cause an agent to lose his/her license. If you are looking for an agency that is honest you might want to keep looking. We would never again consider doing business when this agency was involved.

I Wish I Had Found Webformix Sooner…read more I recently moved into a new home in Bend, Oregon, and signed up with an internet company I had not heard of before: Webformix. I only wish I had known about them sooner. They ROCK. The speed and reliability of the service are the best I have ever encountered. The internet itself is excellent, but what really sets Webformix apart is the company's GREAT attitude toward service. The staff is genuinely helpful, genuinely responsive, and genuinely super kind. That may sound simple, but it is not something I have often found in Bend, Oregon.... or really anywhere else in the United States. The people at Webformix seem to actually like helping people. Their service is immediate, and effective. I have honestly never seen anything quite like it. It almost seems too good to be true. But it is true. The internet service is the best I have ever had. The company is the best internet company I have ever dealt with. And, on top of all that, the price is lower than any internet service I have had before. Webformix has beaten every internet experience I have ever had, by a mile. It is excellent. I just want to spread the word and thank the company.

They generously reward customers for referring other customers to them. They are proactive and go out of their way to ensure their clients are satisfied and well informed. They will not try to sell service to you if the signal is inadequate, and that is very different from my experience with other companies like Tmobile, Century Link, and Spectrum. The set up and service costs are dramatically lower than starlink. I am so glad we made the move.

Meaning, we lived elsewhere and handled the whole transaction over the phone and email. So I am grateful that the transaction was handled hassle-free. Grateful because I know that that isn't a given with real estate transactions and I assume that there are more pitfalls when you do everything long distance. So, full marks for executing the transaction. Here's my issue: Our house had an offer over asking price within hours of being listed and three back-up offers. You'd think I'd be grateful, right? My conclusion though? They low-balled the price to execute a quick, easy transaction for them. They could have priced it $50-70k higher and worked harder, longer and ultimately netted us an extra $40k or so. We accepted their recommendation (mea culpa) and they turned it fast. My only point is to suggest to others using Norma and Julie to ensure that the price is appropriately aggressive to meet your objectives. Otherwise, I suggest that the default strategy for them is price it low and turn the volume.

I let him know i was just getting out of the shower with wet hair and could meet him in the middle at 1:30. He said "THAT IS GOING TO PUT ME IN A BIND." I told him I would get dressed as fast as I could. He showed up at 1:15! He gave us the sales pitch and explained there would be extra costs for installation. When I asked how much he let me know he would just "have to see." I asked if the water test would be able to find chlorine and other chemicals. He said NO only sulfur and other minerals. So I said never mind on that. He also explained there is a quite a bit of maintenance with the system but couldn't provide any amounts for that. After that he then let me know there would be a charge for his visit. At that point, my next appointment was already there waiting for me. I said "wait one minute" and went inside to get a plastic container of tap water. Brought it out and asked that he go ahead and test it since I was paying for it anyway. He said "i need to collect payment TODAY." I said "please ask your wife to send me a link for payment, I need to get with my next appointment. He literally chased me through my yard and said "You will be paying me today!" I said "No, I have a meeting right now but I promise I will pay you." He then literally THREW THE PLASTIC CONTAINER ON THE GROUND and said "i wont be testing your water!" I then called his wife "Angela" to let her know what had happened and before I could explain his behavior she said "WHAT DID YOU DO TO CONTRIBUTE TO HIS AGITATION?" Seriously? I'll be taking my $5000 purchase elsewhere.

Our HOA changed their system so wanted to go through the process again. In the end I find that the only testing they do is hard water testing. I shared concern for chlorine, the response I got was "you are the first person who has expressed concern for chlorine" when I asked about reverse osmosis, I got a funny look back with the comment "I don't know why people ask for that." When providing the water report which shows high levels of nitrates and halocarbons (from chlorine) for our HOA, they did not know how to read it to tell me if their water filtration system would remove the contaminants listed and directed me to some other company (wrong number provided) that they use for purification equipment...so I'm paying for what consultation? In the end, they reached out to the company on my behalf and was told that to remove the contaminants in my water, reverse osmosis and carbon would be needed. I do not recommend anyone paying for their service if you want anything more than testing of your current water for hardness, iron, and ph? or softened water (for the opportunity to replace your system).
