A few weeks back i bought my first ever high performance board from LB Surf and every part of the process was really great and informative. When you are dropping $600 plus you want to make sure you are getting expert advice and I definitely felt that way. I ended up getting a sick 5'7 Firewire Mankinne x Chumlee and to be honest have gotten more waves than ever and the thing rides like a skateboard. Wow, surf's up dude! Who wouldn't want to pay $65 for swim trunks or $55 for flip flops?? They have some cool surf boards but I didn't have to time to check them out. I was looking for swim trunks but everything here is overpriced and tacky. Long Beach itself is really cool, very underrated beach and much more zen than Jones Beach or Robert Moses, IMO. If you're visiting I would def check it out but maybe not buy too many clothes here unless you like paying their exorbitant prices for their tacky stuff. With very few choices for surf gear in and around the city LB Surf is a solid choice. It has a good selection of boards and clothes. They carry some unique local shapers and have rentals. Prices are reasonable and end of season sales are great. The staff is friendly and helpful. We bought our winter suits here and the first time out got a tear from a fin. Despite it not being a warranted repair they shipped it back to the manufacturer and negotiated the repair on our behalf. That kind of customer service has won me as a customer for life. read more

Cute surf shop for last minute things. If you live in the area, I guess this is their go-to shop. They have plenty of clothing for guys. DC shoes, and Quiksilver label. Drove over from Rockaway with my 90 year old father. Passed by Boarders, Breakwater, RB surf shop and Stations to buy a board for Christmas from Long Beach surf shop. We get to the store and the worker wouldn't let my father use the restroom and says to use the pizza place down the street. Really? I'm gunna drop $700-800 in your store and you won't let an elderly customer use the restroom. read more

TERRIBLE customer service. I bought a straw hat here and when I got home, realized it had a tear in it so brought it back and they would not exchange. The owner basically accused me of lying. I literally never wore the hat! He was incredibly rude. This place is horrible - don't shop there. I certainly won't be returning. read more

I bought my new board here in 2020 right before hurricane Teddy. They stock a ton of quality surfboards so it's probably the best surf shop for comparing boards. They had two mid-lengths I was interested in buying. I decided to pull the trigger on one from Lost. The prices on boards are what they should be, certainly competitive with any other surf shop in the region. I told the owner how I set up my fins and was asking where I could get a small center trailer that would fit the traditional fin box. He gave me one free of charge, said people don't really buy them. He could have easily gouged me for another $30 to $50. This place ticks all the boxes for me as a legit surf shop. If you're looking to pick up a new board you can browse here undisturbed. You can ask questions of experienced surfers about what to consider. Then, if you get a new board they have all the accessories you need to get in the water right away and start surfing. I'll always come to LBS first when shopping for a new board even though it's not at my home break. read more

Went in looking for some flip flops but instead of helping me the people working decided to just yell at my kids who were only looking at the surf boards- not touching because I prepped them before we even went in. Prices are inflated and you can get everything off amazon for much cheaper. I normally support local businesses, but this place is just plain unhelpful and rude. Go elsewhere. read more

After having finally found my Long Island stickers at a shop in Port Jeff, I wanted to get a sticker from my hometown of Long Beach. I stopped into LB Surf and the man was very helpful. There are a wide array of clothes and accessories for any surfer or anyone who just likes to be warm while in style. The North Face selection is incomparable to any shop I've been in. Hello all long beach locals. I just moved here from florida and everyone said the long beach surf shop had the biggest and best selection of stuff. Well that might be true but be careful because luke is a asshole. Not only did he sell me a wet suit mis marked as a xl when it was a large when I brought it back to ask for a exchange not a refund so I could purchase the right size suit he told me it was used now and they dont take back used stuff. I did were it for more then 10min in the water. I didnt realize till I got home and took the wet suit off that the suit was a large. I will never set foot in that store again nor will I recommend it to anyone. And I work local in lb and see a lot of people and will tell everyone who will listen about there poor owner luke and his horrible customer service there are many other shops in lb I would recommend one of them. And the lost a board sale to me now good work luke . I give it one star only because I have to ....... come ask me about them I tell you the truth the WORST read more
