I don't usually post on here, but I just bought a fishing rod at the store and the guy working there seemed to be nice. I told him that I was new to fishing and I wanted to purchase a rod/reel combo. He jumped in with $130 rod/reel combo to start with. I told him I didn't want to spend that much so he pulled out another rod for $100. I also bought a rod for my son at $40. I asked him if he could set it up for me and he did. He then put... I don't know what it's called, but a loop at the end of the fishing line to make it easy to connect hook or other lures. My beef is that when I went to Walmart today, that same rod/reel was selling there for $45. It's one thing to charge a little more, but he charged me more than twice what it's being sold for at Walmart. I don't foresee myself going back there anytime soon, read more

John is extremely knowledgeable and patient. He helped my son for over an hour discussing all the different types of poles and reels that would be good for him. I'm a beginner and was looongnfor someone to give me basic advice about how to properly equip and operate my new gear. I went in to FB&T to buy a couple of lures and ended up getting amazing advice from John, the owner, who patiently walked me through how to tie knots, fix my twisted line, and give me expert advice on what to do and what not to do. The gentleman at the counter was exceptinally helpful with inquiries, explanations and provided good customer service. Worth locating this " off the beaten path" year round fishing shoppe. I would not recommend this bait shop to anyone. I paid the owners Robert and his wife Kathy for a boat slip in the back of their store this year for the first time. The owner Robert came running down to my boat and started screaming because one of my fellow boat neighbors was on my boat helping me screw in a piece of plexiglass door. My neighbor has had his boat docked there for quite sometime. The owner demanded him to to get off of my boat and used foul language saying nobody but his mechanics were allowed on any boats. First of all this is a private dock. It is not run by the Marina which has rules and laws about that because they pay more taxes to do so. My friend was not doing any mechanic work on my as we are personal friends. The owner has no right to tell anybody they can not come onto my boat because he wants to make a commission on using his own mechanics. I never asked anyone for help doing anything for my boat. Two fellow boaters offered me help with some minor projects on the boat and Robert was well aware of it as he was hanging out with us even lent us a flashlight. What he pulled yesterday was a childish and embarassing situation for the three people who were there. I was forced to leave the dock space because the owner was absolutely irate and even grabbed my friends arm and dragged him off of my boat. My friend is not a kid he is a grown man and was made to feel like a child. Please do not believe he is a friendly man because I have been told he can snap at the drop of a hat. That is why he can't fill up his dock space because of his temper people tend to leave all the time.!!!!!!!! Do not let his false charm fool anyone he is a very angry man.... read more
