Just bought my 3rd board from these guys (including my wifes board). Great little shop very well run. They open up nice and early so you can go after your early morning surf session. That was a pet peeve of mine with other surf shops, you'd have to wait around an hr or 2 if you wanted to buy a leash! Anyway, they'll chat you up and make sure you get the right board. I am so happy I found this little gem! When I come home, I make sure that I make it over to Maritime. I used to spend a lot on designer shades but Maritime has the BEST polarized sunglasses in very cool styles from aviators to my funky 90's plastic shades for only $50! I always get a ton of compliments on them. There is a really good selection of comfy flip flops and bathing suits. For a small spot , you can have a lot of fun in there without spending a lot. Mike was very patient with me (I was in the store for over an hour being indecisive) and helped me pick out a cool pair of board shorts for my boyfriend. He even threw in a freebie! I highly recommend this spot and plan on hitting it up next weekend to get a head start on spring shopping. I wish they had a Maritme in the city! read more

Just stopped by here yesterday to pick up a surfbag. The BEST surf shop in the metro NYC area. The best selection of high end and custom boards, but they won't break your piggie bank like some of the NYC stores (like Mollusk). I love their shapers - Chris Birch and Jim Hannon really know how to make boards that work great on Long Island and NJ. Can't wait to get a new custom from these guys. read more

its a small place... i found the two guys there to be very unprofessional towards women and little kids. As for a real surf shop- i have to disagree, i've been to plenty surf shops where people are true, kind and love what they do which these workers do not. read more
