I waited for 3 months to get an Electrician on my boat to wire up my Radar and GPS. Three no shows, typical these days. I ran into Dan of Long Beach Marine in the parking lot at Shore Line Marina so I talked to him about my problem. He gave me a business card so I can call Susan at the office and schedule the work. She told me Friday at 8:30am. So by now I am skeptical about punctuality, but not with these guys. They were at my boat at 8:30 am just like they said. Both Dan and Mike got started right away on wiring up my Radar, GPS, SAT and Hailer Horn. I made them a bet that if they finish before noon, I would give each guy $50 dollars. They had everything wired up, tested the units and cleaned up before noon! I lost that bet, but I tell you it was well worth it! We have used Long Beach Marine Electronics & Refrigeration for a number of updates to our (new to us) Tiara 3500 Open. These updates include new radar, chart plotter, television, stereo system and numerous other system updates. Their technicians are alway on time, courteous and very knowledgeable. They never leave a mess and their work is always top notch. The real reason for this review is to bring to light a problem we had with a pump installation. Due to a miscommunication, the wrong raw water pump was removed and replaced. When the work was questioned, they immediately took full responsibility for the error. They, within a day, removed and replaced the correct pump and would not accept any remuneration. It's a pleasure to work with such a professional company who alway preforms flawless repairs and stands behind their work. I wish we had not used this company. We had a broken refrigerator on our boat and hired them to repair or replace it. They replaced it and chose the equipment. See photos. This is how they installed it and we can't get them to come out and finish the job and explain wtf they did. What they didn't do: Remove the right side door swings. Put screws in the holes for screws. Install the trim on the bottom. Explain and fix the icing issue. See photos I wouldn't use this company if I were you. read more

Superior customer service is a hallmark at Long Beach Marine Electronics (LBME). Over the past seven years, LBME has provided outstanding care when tending to our 1991 Grand Banks 36. Most recently they installed a new hot water heater and repaired the old Grunert refrigerator. A few years back, we thought our Furuno sonar had died; however, still being new to boating LBME helped us understand that all we needed was a new transducer. Six months ago, they upgraded the same Furuno system to include AIS ship tracking. Regardless of the technician, we hardly can tell that they were ever on the boat. Never a trace. LBME has exceeded our expectations each time we have used them. They are the first call we make when we need help with a repair or upgrade. read more

I had a Dometic refrigerator that needed service. After talking to the receptionist twice, I finally got a call back from their technician. I explained the problem and he told me he was going to get back to me with my options. A week goes by, no call back. I talked to the receptionist, who assured me she would get the message to the technician. Again, no call back. I called another authorized Dometic service center in the area, and they were at the boat a few days later. I guess Long Beach Marine doesn't need business. read more

I wouldn't and don't use anyone else but Long Beach Marine Electronics. This company is absolutely the best, both technically and with customer service. First, about 15 months ago I hired them to rid my boat of the 1985 electronics and install state of the art up to date equipment, replace all engine gauges at both helms, replace the inverter and batteries, replace the intercom system, install two fusion Sirius satellite radio systems, install Direct TV in two locations, service the water maker and rebuild the alternators. A lot of work and I am sure I missed something. Since that time we have installed a new ice maker as well. Not only do they have an incredible and talented staff of technicians with Mike, Steve and Doug, they all provide the best customer service you can expect. They show up on time, leave your boat clean, communicate with you on all matters and explain everything to you and help you along to understand the detailed systems. Every time I need some help with something, I make a phone call, get an answer the first time and they provide me the time necessary to help me out. They never rush me and are genuinely concerned. Second, when we did the retrofit of all the items and the additions they were able to preserve the 1985 look of the boat that was important to me. Custom teak panels were made to match the interior of the boat, new electric panels were made to fit seamlessly into the helm and the new gauge panels looked as if they had been delivered with the boat. It was an amazing retrofit and my wife and I are so pleased with everything. Lastly, like all boat owners you have a problem every now and then that technically I can't figure out. Usually this comes before a holiday weekend or the night before you are leaving for a trip. On two occasions this summer I needed to call upon them to help me out with two matters not related to the work they had previously completed. On both occasions they provided to me the most wonderful customer service, coming out to my boat on both occasions just before a holiday weekend to make an emergency repair so my family and I could enjoy a planned trip. This company and their technicians are so good, responsible and trustworthy that they have a key to my boat so when I need something they just go take care of it. On top of all that, their hourly labor rates, materials and equipment are all priced very competitively in the market.
