A couple weeks ago my father passed away at a very young age. It was a very stressful time for my family especially due to us needing to have an expedited service. We had the pleasure of working with Winnie who is amazing. She took care of pretty much everything, allowing my family and I to grieve without worrying about logistics. I'm appalled by their services to Asian communities. My parents and my aunties all have their final resting places here. They signed the contracts and paid off the graveyards, burial containers, and tombstones. But it took forever to get the things moving when the day actually came. And don't get me start with tombstones, which is at least 4 months out. We had to continuously call this place to get results. Worst yet the staffs don't communicate among themselves and confused us all the time. Their services are not only poor, but also expensive. Covid brought them a lot of businesses, but also enhances the arrogance. read more

Losing someone is never easy, but the team at Lone Tree Cemetery made a difficult day a little lighter. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and incredibly well-maintained. I don't even know where to start. My dad passed away about 3 weeks ago, June 24th. In my religion, we must bury as soon as possible. I'm only 22 and my dad was only in his 50's so this was all extremely painful for our family. We went to this cemetery the next morning and was greeted by Winnie, the kindest woman there is. Everything went so smoothly and my dad was buried the next day. She was so extremely accommodating to my family and treated us with the utmost respect. Now, its been 3 weeks that my family has been consistently visiting my dads grave and she has never failed to make me laugh. I keep thinking to myself how much my dad would have loved this place, the spot of his grave right under a tree, the deer and turkeys roaming around, and the amazing staff. Winnie has become a great friend to us and has made this devastating loss to my brother, mom, and I a bit less painful. The smiles shes given us is all my dad would have wished for. My mom is buried there and I have called several times with no response . The date of my mom's death is worn off gone. I want it fixed. There was also lots of broken headstones all over like they were thrown. Awful read more

My experience with lone tree has been nothing but great!! All of my relatives resting place is there...the staff is always so tentative and caring. In recent years 2012, 2016, 2017,and 2025 I lost 4 of my siblings, a staff member name Winnie who was so kind to my family worked some magic, I don't know how she did it,but was able to have each of their cremator niches close by each other...my family and I are so grateful for that, it's like I'm with them all during one visit! I wish that I could give this place a ZERO star rating! The staff here is rude, dismissive and so not know how to speak to people...not what you would expect when dealing with grieving families. They are quick to sell plots but when the service is needed to open plots they just put their hands on their hips and say oh well! ...plots are not cheap and they gouge for weekend openings. They say one thing and quote us on opening a plot but when we arrive they don't even want to talk to us and change their tone. We purchased our plot in 2017 and when we tried to use it we were an inconvenience and were told that we were too late so we had to wait...umm what? They didn't want to hear us out, offer sympathy or actually care. This place is a disappointment! A complete waste of time! Loosing my mom is all I'm trying to focus on but they are with the foolery...it's a JOKE (or so the woman behind the desk seemed to think). *I am not one to leave bad reviews, but this is needed because I don't want other families to go thru the same thing that I did when trying to lay a loved one to peace, unfortunately i did not get the 2 ladies names that were in office. But I will be going back to make a complaint and will try to come and update on here* read more

Came here today, and it's a nice location overall. I have a hard time with death, but this spot seemed very peaceful and well maintained. It's also pretty spacious. Overall, it helped me deal with being in a cemetery. read more

Suddenly they have a major cleanup that they removed and discard all of your beloved family members mementoes, a small rock 3 inches long by 1 inch in height that was hand painted that was placed on top of the headstone was removed. They went to the extreme when they performed this clean up. Some families visit the deceased and bring flowers, or a small solar objects or hand painted rocks with sayings and they come in and remove and discard everything! read more

Having to deal with final arrangements for a loved one is never an easy task. Over the course of the last 23 years I've worked with Lone Tree for both unexpected and pre-need arrangements and I have always received the best care. I'd like to specifically thank Winnie Chan who always goes above and beyond! Winnie you have made yourself available 7 days a week, even while on vacation. While most of our interactions have been during extremely difficult and painful times. I have received the same level of care and attention during the times whenever I have had any questions or concerns. There service is good but their rules for the funeral are horrible. I wish I never buried my wife here, I should've had her buried at chapel of the chimes. I wish I could dig her grave up and have her buried somewhere else to rest. read more

I went to visit my father niche and place flower,s but I had a really hard time finding it because it still doesn't have its shutter, its been over a month since he was placed. If you want to be able to visit your family and be able to find them, I don't recommend lone tree. read more

Who knew folks yelped cemeteries, but that's how I found Lone Tree. I was looking up another cemetery online and not only saw that cemetery's weblink, but also I saw it had a a 3 star yelp review....well, I said to myself, let's yelp cemeteries....That's how I found Lone Tree! And now I'm paying it forward by adding to their yelps. I had forgotten about Lone Tree as I normally turn on 5 Canyons. I emailed and got pricing information and later called and made an appointment, expecting to be very sad as my loved one was not beating cancer despite a heroic fight. The cemetery is beautiful with gentle hills and a comforting blend of old and new. I found the cemetery to be comforting, not sad. I got a tour, learning about different headstone materials and seeing that Mr. Hayward is there along with notables with streets named after them. The grounds are well maintained, and there's a sense of community and history. I knew from sight and feel this would be a good place to be and to visit. They price pre-need purchases at a discount, which helped make the decision to buy from them than via a reseller (note: not many sites are for resale in this cemetery). They also offer what I call 2-fer spots where two can be buried in one spot for a little bit more than a single plot. I thought that would provide comfort to my loved one to know he wouldn't be alone. When the day came, it was easy to finalize the arrangements for the graveside service. I also rented the amphitheater for the reception. That worked out well as everyone who attended the services could easily walk or drive to the reception and noone opted out as they might have done if it were held in a different locale. There was no rush on when the caterers could set up or take down, just an expectation that we'd clean up well afterwards. On the back side of the amphitheater is a stream and shaded nature spot, providing an area for the kids to play and also for quiet reflection. I got a lot of compliments on the service, cemetery and reception. They recommend not taking the flowers after the ceremony. We left them and the next day came back to find the grave covered in a blanket of flowers. Lone Tree is the most peaceful, comforting final resting place I can imagine. After a couple of years trying to fulfill a promise I made for my best friend, I found The Lone Tree. As soon as I arrived I knew that this was the place to lay him to rest. The grounds are well kept the facility large and very peaceful, but the most amazing thing about Lone Tree is the staff!! They were very helpful personable, professional and understanding. This is the most beautiful cemetery I've ever seen. The views are amazing . The grounds are well kept and the waterfall is beautiful. I know several loved ones that are buried here . When I visit them I can bring my dog and have a nice walk afterwards . Every year they have the best Memorial Day tribute . I highly recommend going to it . read more

My friend past away on July, and my mother told me that he would be buried at Lonetree. I was in disbelief, that he died at such a young age. As I arrived at the Lonetree cemetery, I looked at every possible area he would be buried, but couldn't find him. I went back to the front entrance of the cemetery, and suddenly realize there was an office. Quickly, I went in and their staff was amazing. I don't remember their names, however they were able, to narrow down the location. Many thanks for helping me find my friend. Little did I realize he was cremated. Without the Lonetree staff's help, I would not be able to visit him. I look forward to visting him again and hopefully in the afterlife. read more

Positives: Beautiful cemetery. Very Serene place. Clean. Access to a lot of water faucets. Groundskeepers are friendly. Pretty much let you put whatever flowers you like & other small memorabilia, as long as it's kept neat. Negatives: Grass could be a little better kept. Lots of crabgrass. Cut to close to monuments. Don't clean up monuments after mowing. Overall great place to bury a loved one! read more

without too many sappy details.. the lady we dealt with was Valerie. She made a difficult process very easy, and seamless for us. The cemetery itself is very serene and beautiful. It is NOT overcrowded and the headstones are not uniform, people have different styles and sizes. I love coming here and just clearing my head (and sometimes taking shots with my dad, but you know.. thats part of the clearing my head haha). Oh, and its important to know that the maintenance here is immaculate. the lawn is always mowed and trash bins emptied... good stuff. read more

Please don't bury your family here. There are other cemeteries who actually CARE after you've invested thousands of dollars to bury your loved ones. Lone Tree is not one of them. During the process of buying my grandfather's plot, the staff was extremely helpful and kind, but of course, right? They're getting paid. A few years down the line? Not so much. The office staff are extremely cold, uncaring and rude. I think I may have even heard a snicker coming from the Asian woman who works the front desk. So professional. I wasn't aware that the desire for respect and maintenance for graves was a ridiculous thing to ask for. My apologies for noticing the lack of care and attention to detail that has been a more common occurrence within the past few years. This cemetery used to be immaculate. I'm not sure if their maintenance staff has changed or not, but it sure seems to be the case, and if not, then the workers have been very lax. It definitely shows. Especially when they drive through the grass at top speeds without a care for what they're driving over. Very disappointing. Despite both of my grandparents being buried, an uncle and a great aunt, this is where it stops. No one in this family will waste another dollar here. I'm all about customer service and this just does not cut it. I sincerely hope they can make a change because it just isn't what it used to be. Maybe some concerns may seem frivolous to some, but you're dealing with loved ones who have passed. Have some integrity. read more

When my elderly father died suddenly with no arrangements made this was where I knew I wanted him laid to rest. My infant son was buried here in 1984 as are my daughter's paternal grandparents. My mom wanted another more "commercial" cemetery closer to her home but I walked out of that place. Chris was so great from the moment I walked in. This is a beautiful serene place, quiet and peaceful. Everyone was wonderful and I am so glad Dad is here. We placed his remains today and I feel the entire experience was exactly what he would have wanted. Valerie was extremely helpful from the moment we set foot in her office. She listened carefully to what we wanted for the burial and helped guide us into something that fit perfect. She called our family to verify that each step was complete, all in a timely manner. She worked well with the mortuary we used (Spencers Mortuary in Hayward) and coordinated the transfer of the urn. Do not bury your love ones here at all. I have my brother buried here and we see him every year. Today I went to see him after 9 years of his passing as every year I do and I came 10 mins before they close (don't understand why there's a time limit to see your relatives) just to get a "no I'm closing and I'm leaving" I begged to leave at least some flowers on his grave and he said "no I have to go" very insensitive and very unprofessional and I left home crying because I couldn't leave flowers on his grave because I had to work and I rushed to do this special moment. Their schedule is very unreasonable knowing this location is in the bay area and traffic wouldn't even get you 5 mins of the time to give a proper prayer to your love one. read more

Referred to the deceased's remains as "it" repeatedly. Very impersonal. Caulked the seal over the door of the vault as we were walking in, keeping my mother from seeing it. Just wasn't treated very respectfully at all. read more
