I had a terrible experience with Jacob and his wife, who assumes the role of project manager in their company. Definitely not much of a project manager at all. I needed finishes done for a kitchen renovation (backsplash, stain island, paint cabinets and plumbing finishes).
The only communication I had before the project started was them telling me they had to push back the start date. A few days after the original start date they finally started, it began by Jacob coming to the project for about 4 hours for 3 days. Then, he called in sick for the next 3 days, which was not a problem, but ZERO communication that he would be out sick, unable to work on the job. There was no communication for backup in his absence or in the event of a delay.
Once he began work again, he only came for a couple hours each day and finally stopped showing up without any communication. I was told by another client of Jacob's that his guys had been working for them. I emailed about when work would resume and was told by Jacob's wife that there were more important clients. The project started on the 10th and by the 18th, was told that they would no longer be coming back because I was a terrible client and I added things for free.
The work done was unprofessional and sloppy. Improper ventilation during painting caused our house to be consumed with overwhelming fumes for weeks. We quickly had to relocate our pets for the duration of the project.
At one point I had to freeze the PayPal funds because they refused to finish the work they had started such as the backsplash, which had to be redone due to lack of attention to detail and sheer laziness. The total project took from Aug 10th - Sept 4.
I was told by his wife repeatedly that they had more important clients.
It is now Oct 8th and the paint touch-ups have not been completed and my garage floor was not properly covered during painting resulting in paint covering the ground. I have asked for them to come out after payment to finish and no response. If anyone is curious, I have pictures of all the incomplete work and nasty text messages from the "project manager" of this company.
I was paid $320 for the sealing of my cabinet and was told by the contractor that it would be sealed. It was not sealed properly, not sealed underneath and there ware water marks underneath as well.
I had to bring it in for repairs because it was warped and needed to be stained on the bottom which Lonestar was supposed to do.
I was also, invoiced $1000 for the backsplash which the grout is now cracking only 2 months after the install.
I would never recommend using them or having any association with this company. I will be posting pictures of the work done in hopes to help people avoid this company. read more
