Yesterday I got heat exhaustion. All of the ugly symptoms included. Today I have had a migraine, muscle cramping, exhaustion and nausea. About 5 pm I had had enough. I got online and found Line Star IV Medics. They are a mobile IV service. Within 2 hours Brittany (a seasoned paramedic) was at my door with much needed help. She was very knowledgeable about all of the options and what they are supposed to do to me. You can totally customize what goes in to your IV. I chose the Myers Cocktail with added Tordal and Zofran. Before the IV had finished my migraine and nausea were gone. She started by checking my vitals, determined my needs (a mutual discussion) and administered the IV and was walking out in about an hour. After my husband was sick for the past few days, we went to the urgent care as I knew he needed fluids. That visit was pointless as they said they didn't have a nurse on staff so told us to go to the ER. Instead we called Lone Star IV Medics on a Sunday afternoon and they sent someone out with a couple of hours. The nurse was very professional and was able to assess his health and offer an add in to help him in the IV. They will be our go to next time someone in the house needs fluids. read more

After starting back on aggressive immunosuppressant therapy Friday, I spent 7am - 1:30pm Saturday violently ill. I knew these side effects were going to land me in the ER again, but I was too exhausted to spend hours in the waiting room and I really didn't want another hospital bill. I literally cried my eyes out when I got an appointment with Lone Star and realized they would be at my house to help in a few short hours. Sam was a godsend, and I can't express how thankful I am that he was here in DFW today. I'm a very tough stick, but Sam got my IV in on the very first try. He had me fixed up with zofran first thing to stop the vomiting and even stayed when the IV was out to make sure I could hold down my first drink of the day.
