After we walked around for a bit, my youngest politely asked an employee if she could hold a bearded dragon. The employee responded, "Only if you're interested in buying one." I felt that was an inappropriate and dismissive way to speak to a 12-year-old who was clearly excited and potentially interested. I stepped in and asked what policy states that customers can only interact with animals if they are actively purchasing. If this is store policy, it would be helpful for it to be clearly communicated and explained in a more respectful way -- especially to children. We came in excited and left feeling discouraged. Now off the record? If that's the policy, fine. But delivery matters. You don't shut down a kid's curiosity like that. That's how you lose future customers.

I'm deeply disappointed by our experience with Cypress Veterinary Hospital. Over a span of six…read moremonths, our vet ran three different sets of lab work and even conducted a specific Cushing's disease test. Despite all of this testing and the considerable expense we had already incurred, they still refused to diagnose her with Cushing's or start treatment. The vet even admitted that her gut instinct said it was Cushing's, but she refused to act on it. Instead, she relied on an AI tool that claimed only a 53% chance. It felt like the AI was more about protecting the clinic's bottom line than actually helping our dog. In the end, we sought a second opinion. The new vet reviewed the same clinical notes and confirmed without a doubt that it was Cushing's, no extra tests or lab work was needed. They started treatment immediately. Our dog suffered unnecessarily for months because the vet here prioritized AI-driven uncertainty over clinical data, clinical symptoms and common sense. If you go here, I highly recommend you to ask for a copy of all the clinical notes, labs and test results and get a second opinion. Educate yourself, use AI that is available to the public (ChatGPT) to help you understand your animal's health condition and advocate for your animal!
