It took another 10 minutes for them to take our food order, and then after 30 minutes, and watching others who came in after us getting their food, we asked about ours...they forgot to put our food order in and blamed it on the printer in the kitchen. If it was the printer then why did others get their food?!? So they lied on top of it. Then the four people who ordered burgers got their meals, but they forgot me because I ordered a bacon chicken ranch wrap. When they brought my wrap after I had to ask for it, there was NO CHICKEN in the wrap! I was so hungry I ate it anyway. But really?!? Where was the manager? More importantly where was the owner?!? Neither one gave a damn about us! We won't be back. Even if the food is good, and the place is clean, awful service ruins the entire experience. BTW - we tipped our server well anyway...

The captain is dead…read more The foreshadowing was there as soon as I walked in the door...from the completely missing doorhandle on the men's room...to the paper towel dispenser with a handwritten "Broken" sign on it...should have known better and just left. When you see a place in disrepair... the owners/managers/and sometimes staff are non-verbally telling you ..."We don't give a fuck about our customers." A door handle--maybe $15 at Menards and 10 minutes of time...is that too much to ask? A "broken" towel dispenser... now was it "broken" because a couple of batteries were dead inside of it? That would cost 3 or 4 bucks tops. Course if something is mechanically broken... well fellas... you can go on Angie's list and will never find a paper towel dispenser mechanic. If they are broken- you replace it. Many distributers will give you them for FREE! But why leave it on the wall? Takes you about 5 minutes to remove. But that is trivial and like I said just a clue to bigger issues within this bar/restaurant. The big issue are the flies. Not one or two...but literally HUNDREDS that buzz and disrupt your visit. Now they might try to convince you that flies just wait outside for the opportunity to get out of the hot weather and into the cool air...but that would be a lie. No...its quite OBVIOUS they have a fly infestation going on from lack of cleaning either in the kitchen or the bar. I flat out refused to eat as this kind of infestation is so unsanitary and again shows the MANAGEMENT doesnt care about its customers. This WAS A RESPECTABLE HIGH-CLASS BAR ON THE LAKE. Now its a place to avoid unless you want to get sick. And maybe the management wants it to be more of a dive bar than upscale...and I say...if so...EMBRACE THE IDEA! Keep handing out the flyswatters--hell the heavy-set guy at the bar took down at least 50 while we were there...but make it into something fun. My suggestion is to offer discounts that are based on confirmed kills. 10 kills =10% off your bill. 20 kills--20%. Think of how much fun that would be for all...and would save you the cost of calling in an exterminator! Its a win/win situation.

The bar was pretty empty at the time but a nice woman walked by us and made a few recommendations on the menu since she loved them so much. Lisa is the bartender and server. She was pleasant and regularly checked on us. Since the woman recommended the Chicken Wild Rice and Mushroom soup, we each decided to order a cup to go with our sandwiches. I ordered the BLT with fries. The bacon was crispy and the sandwich was delicious. Fries were hot and crispy. My husband ordered the buffalo chicken wrap. He said it was tasty. Now, to the chicken wild rice and mushroom soup. This is by far the most delicious wild rice soup we have ever eaten. My husband, being from the area has grown up eating chicken wild rice soup so we've eaten a lot of it over time. We loved it so much we bought a quart to go. Apparently everyone else loves it as well as she had pre to go containers of the soup for purchase. Now, the only gripe I have is the charge for extra sauces like a small mayo, etc. Really? I would highly recommend an improvement and that would be to clean up the outdoor seating. When I see dirty areas at any restaurant, it makes me wonder how they take care of the kitchen.
