But not being a medical Facility they are not equipped to care for some one who is challenging with medical needs such as my mom's. They gave it a good try but she was just to much for them to handle.

We were looking for a place for our mom, who is 97 and had a stroke. We met with Mark Yerko,…read moreadministrator at Kings Care in Vista, Ca. He showed us the facility and explained the services. We liked the place, and explained our mothers needs and condition, including that she was on hospice. We told Mr. Yerko we needed a place very soon. He said they had an opening and that the following week was possible as a move in date. He took our good faith $500 deposit. He called the very next day to say he had issues with the current tenant that he had to resolve before mom could move in. He continued to say a move in date the next week was entirely possible, but wouldn't give us a date. In the meantime, we stopped looking for a place since we believed we would move mom into Kings Care. When we didn't hear from Mr. Yerko for days and got no return call, we had no choice but to look elsewhere. When we went to pick up our deposit from Mr. Yerko, his receptionist claimed they had been "misinformed " saying they didn't know mom was on hospice. That is a blatant lie as Mr. Yerko was told on two occasions that mom was on hospice. Mr. Yerko even told us that they regularly work with hospice. It's our feeling that Mr. Yerko was dragging out the move in date so we would get tired of it and move on. That is an unprofessional and unethical way to do business. It would have been better for him to just say they don't want hospice clients. This cost us valuable time in finding a suitable place for mom at a very stressful time. If your considering Kings Care you might consider taping or otherwise documenting your conversations with Mr. Kerko, or he may claim something other than that was actually said if it suits his agenda!

The folks at Aegis totally misrepresented themselves and promised things they were unable (or…read moreunwilling) to fulfill. Due to his dementia, my dad's behavior wasn't always stellar. But rather than working with him and the family, they evicted him, causing him even more anxiety and disorientation. We never would have moved my father into Aegis if the sales team and nursing staff hadn't assured us this was the appropriate facility for him and Aegis would be his "last home." They were deceptive and inflexible and actually quite heartless. We are considering suing the company for misleading us and causing my dad's health to decline so severely. DO NOT BE DECEIVED BY THE PRETTY BUILDING AND SMILING STAFF. THEY ARE ONLY INTO THE MONEY THEIR RESIDENTS CAN PAY AND HAVE LITTLE REGARD FOR THE SENIORS THEY PROFESS TO CARE FOR.

Extremely disappointed in how my father was "handled" there…read more We had made it perfectly clear what his issues were and that he had dementia. They called the police on a 5150, I think it's called, and he spent the next 3 weeks In the psych ward at the VA hospital. There, they screwed up his drugs, and he didn't sleep for a week. It's been a nightmare. And now, because of his behavior at Aegis, it was almost impossible to find him a new place to live, when the VA hospital released him. I can't even begin to tell you how angry I am with them. And from what I've been reading about assisted living, they cherry pick their residents. My dad is safe now, but like a zombie on antipsychotic drugs. He's 94 and otherwise in very good health. However I see the end of his life coming soon. It's so sad

My father and myself had such an amazing experience here from the staff who cared beyond any expectation I ever had . Please know that my dad is not an easy guy to like or take care of. Yet every single time I was there, their kindness and care for their patients was truly amazing . The nurses and the physical therapy staff were exemplary caregivers. I'd like to specifically shout out to James and Matt in physical therapy and Demi. The nurses were all so good, but there were so many it's hard to remember their names. To all the kind wonderful people that work here at this facility thank you for taking such good care of my dad and being so nice to me as well. This is hard work and often thankless work so I was beyond surprised at how well they took care of my and kind at the same time. So thankful to you all.

All they are interested in is discharging people that are unsafe discharges. The thing I learned at this facility is how uncaring and heartless the case workers are with people that have memory care issues like dementia and Alzheimer's. Part of their job is to help you with resources to help you with your loved ones find a safe place to go after their stay has ended at Vista Knoll. However, their nursing and CNA staff are very nice. I would 100% never recommend this facility to any one that truly cares about their loved one!
