Food was great!! Just as two friendly heads up: first there are other establishments side by side and they HOUND you to eat at their location. Please check the menus if you have any dietary/food restrictions. My boyfriend is Muslim so it was the unfortunate part is that he ate pork. We asked the young server multiple times if asada meant beef or pork and she insisted it was beef. It wasn't until I asked a woman older in age and she informed us it was pork. [The establishment to the side had vegetarian accommodations] FYI: Service was slow because the food is made on the spot and very much a home made food type of establishment. We were a party of 2 and it still took a while. There was a party of 4 annoyed with the slow service but it's FRESH and 100% hot when they come with your order- so don't come if you're on a time crunch or if you easily get grumpy lol. Everything we got was delicious, we went back the very next day for lunch! There was plenty of outdoor seating, but was a little difficult to find parking, so if you are walking distance from this location, I would recommend to walk. read more

5 stars here! We stopped by after asking for local recommendations on where to eat after visiting Chichen Itza. Gloria, was super helpful and offered wonderful customer service. The other staff were wonderful, they took our fruit that we bought at a local market earlier and cut it up for us. During our time in the Yucatán this was our most favorite and authentic places to eat. We had the tacos de poc chuc! Bien hecho gloria y todos aquí! Great find in this small town called Piste. We needed lunch when we found out they Ik Kil was at capacity. It's in a strip of restaurants, nothing fancy but food was pretty good and pretty cheap. Gloria was very friendly and helpful. I'd recommend it if you're in the area and need a quick lunch spot. read more

This place is on the way in or out of Chichén Itzá on part of a traffic circle. There are a couple of restaurants right next to each other and you may get hustled once you are out of the car to eat at another one so make sure you pick the right one~ Keeping this one quick - Great food, al pastor is awesome! CHEAPY CHEAPY ALMOST FREE! My husband and I stopped here on our way back from Chichen Itza as we heard it was a good local authentic Yucatan restaurant. I've never had Yucatan food so I was excited to try it. When we pulled in we were immediately flagged down by multiple girls with different menus so make sure you go to the right location- there are about 4 different restaurants in the same mall strip that share the same patio space. They don't serve alcohol here, but we did hear that they allow you to bring in outside drinks. Regardless we ordered a Coke and Sprite along with a big bottled water. For starters we got the chicken empanadas that were served pipping hot! We also got limes and two types of salsa (complimentary). The red salsa had a kick to it and marinated tomatoes. The green salsa was green pepper and a kick of habanero in it. It was hot, but not scorching. For my meal I got the Chicken Filete de Yucatan, which came with a side of marinated onions, cabbage and rice. The chicken had a really good flavor/spice to it, but I enjoyed it when I mixed everything on my plate together. My husband got the pork wrapped in banana skins (forget what it was called) and it was very delicious. I liked more than mine, but both dishes were tasty! The biggest bonus about this place is that is super cheap! For our entire meal our total was around $13USD!! You can't beat that! read more

Came here after Chichen Itza, based on reviews and it was very good local Mexican/Yucatan food and very inexpensive. Gloria was very helpful, including fluent English. For the money, an absolute 5-Star restaurant in Pisté just opposite the main square. It's co-located with a couple of other small loncherias, but Los Arcos seemed to be the one with most visits this day. We ordered some refreshing homemade pineapple juices (watered out - just fine) and a collection of starters for sharing. 6 people, 600 pesos incl tips. Menu card doesn't announce prices, so you never know what bill you're gonna get :) The restaurant holds a key to the restrooms in the main square. read more

The food was authentic and delicious just don't expect an air conditioned place with music, alcohol and restrooms. As you park the employees are almost interrogating you but don't be persuaded and go to this spot. The food came out fairly quickly since they ate freshly made tortillas. The salsas were good and the fresh juices were too. We ordered the empanadas with chicken and cheese, cochinita pibil plate, tacos and panuchos. The food once again was great and inexpensive, we only paid $410 pesos for 6 people. I'd definitely come back here again. I liked this one better than the neighboring restaurants. They serve free appetizers of fried tortilla chips with about 4 different salsas. Very friendly and the only criticism I could give is that they menus don't have prices. Regardless even the most expensive dinner plate is 50-60 pesos. We adored this humble mom and pop restaurant in middle of Piste, less than ten mins from Chitzen Itza, and it was en route to our next stop Cenote Yodzonot, which was only 12 minutes down the road on the same road. This place shares common area with other restaurants and it can be confusing as you pull up when all the other servers from adjacent restaurants try to pull you in. Across of the main plaza (a very pretty old church). Food is yummy, flavorful in a home cooking way. Do try the Sopa de Lima, some of the best I had while in Merida. I think our fresh juices, soups and and panuchos cost 120 pesos for 2 people. Friendly and apparently a popular stop as we saw others dining there also at Cenote Yodzonot. read more

Okay this is Anthony Bourdain territory here. However asked and asked to get the right place that will give me the true flavors of Merida/Yucatan home made style. This was impressive, get over the fly's bugging you on the plastic tables, and the stray dog visiting you and you will experience something truly out of sight! No beer but we walked over to the next corner, to the Corona place picked up beer and brought that back to our table. They took our beers and put them in their fridge for us to keep them cold and the table was is pure silence after that while we were in food heaven for the next half hour. Go to loncheria and not the restaurant at the east end of this building. This review is for the restaurant next to Loncheria. Not the best I've had in Mexico. Where is the restaurant that was for the east in this complex. The food took a long time to make and was not fresh. Maybe the worst meal I had during my trip. read more

There were 7 people around our tiny table and when the food came they couldn't get it to us. Unfortunately the staff didn't help us eat in peace since we didn't speak any Spanish. They also have to 2 salsas to every table...the green Salsa was fire. Whole meal was $310 pesos, @$15 USD. The row where the restaurant has neighboring restaurants right next door who will try to get your business, look at the sign and make sure you're at the right spot. right on the main drag in pisté, sandwiched between two other family owned open air restaurants. all three will try to flag you down as you enter, clearly vying with each other for business. but the food is excellent. We had the "mixto" panuchos- all four kinds, but the carne asada and cochinita were our favorites. Also had the cheese empanadas which were excellent. This is where the locals go to eat. read more
