    Lobster empanada
    Kristin P.

One of my favorites for an enjoyable take out. The mufungo is good but not the best, a bit drier than others I had. I am not sure how the dish would be prepared if dining in but was surprised to find all of the Lulu Latins nacho toppings to have been packaged separately. While not expected, it made for a fun make your own nacho night. Shrimp a la diabla mofongo and anything made with penil (i.e. slow roasted pork) are my favorites. Was not a fan of the lobster empanadas. Staff are very friendly and service is always great. The restaurant is small so be patient if it's a busy night. Would suggest calling if you are tight on time.

    Ceviche was delicious!

Great food! Great service! Everyone was so friendly! The live music was fantastic! I can't wait to come back!

Food was tasty. Got mofongo with chimichurri steak. They brought the plate out and I asked where the chimichurri sauce for my steak was and he said they didnt have any. You would think they tell you that at the time you order in case you rather go with something else but no. Food was tasty and place was very cute so i still have to give them a good rating.

    Camarones Al Ajillo
    Carey J.

I was so excited to try Lulu's as I love Latin cuisine. Unfortunately, my meal was terrible, I had the Camarones Al Ajillo (garlic shrimp), empanadas and sweet plantains. The empanadas were very bland/ didn't have much taste which was very disappointing. The garlic shrimp was made with frozen stir fry vegetables which were mushy and had a distinct frozen taste, another big disappointment. The sweet plantains were the only thing I enjoyed. My daughters ordered chicken and steak tacos they said they were decent. We got the sopapilla cheesecake for dessert and none of us liked it.

Tilapia mofongo with veggies and house salad.

The decor takes you right to island vibes. The music, the small trinkets that remind you of Puerto Rico are all here. The aromas in the air will have you drawn in. Our trip we had the roasted pork, and cube steak. My roasted pork was very flavorful. The rice reminded me of my grandmother's rice. The beans are amazing to say the least. I want the recipe! Tostones were fresh and hot! Made to order. The sweet plantain was the same. This last trip was today. Sundays are super busy! It was nice to see all the tables full and watching the family move in unison to get the customers taken care of. I ordered my food to go so I sat at the bar and waited for my food. Jessica the owner greeted me and was super attentive. Even when the hustle and bustle started she still checked on me. Today we ordered the pork chop dinner with rice and sweet plantain. I had the pork chunks with rice and beans along with tostones. We also had an alcapurrias that was delicious and flavorful. I ordered the empanadas, chicken and beef. They were perfectly fried and seasoned so well. The roasted chicken was deliciously flavorful, and that roasted crisp from the skin was on point. The rice, the beans, the pork.. listen, every single thing was full of flavor and so darn good. I enjoyed my meal and cannot wait to go back. This may be the best Puerto Rican food in the Midlands.

It's a small establishment but those tend to be the best. It's a no frills aesthetic both inside and out. I have never waited as long as they take to put these meals together. They did come out with an order but was completely wrong. My impression of the establishment is a small cafe with a few Jamaican flags, wording, and music camouflaged up to attract the tourists. There are no Jamaicans taking order, the menu is always on the TV. There is an attached side to cafe with 1 pool table, another bar, and stage. Upon finally receiving our orders albeit after an hour wait the food was presented well but no damn way wait for amount served. We have come to expect that no one here in America can give it the jerk taste and this was no different. Yes it is fall off bone but only jerk seasoning not the taste cooked in. It is serviceable as far as American standards. The curry chicken was way salty and the side of rice peas was very small as compared to me I got very large portion rice. The food was okay but as long as we waited I was ready to get refund and leave. If you want horrible service come here but I will not again.
