We moved from New Jersey to Connecticut and it has been very hard to find a great hair salon and hair experts that truly care and listen to what you want. I took my daughter to Loks salon and Desi worked on her hair and I have to say she was amazing we did take a picture to show what she wanted and she went above and beyond. And she made sure my daughter left with a smile on her face and on top of it all my daughter had ACL and meniscus surgery 2 wks prior and they were so accommodating and making sure she was comfortable. 3 years while my husband was stationed in Groton CT I went to desi here at loks salon. I was blonde for almost 3 years and before I moved back down to Georgia I decided to do a mommy make over and go back to the dark side! I would recommend this place to anyone who would ask! She is great at listening to what you want and giving guidance to get the results you are looking for. I get so many complements about my hair color and style. The salon is pleasantly decorated and very clean. On arrival you are immediately welcomed and offered a complementary beverage from their " loktail" menu. The atmosphere is friendly but very calm with no gossiping or politics. The head-massage is just the best! Loks is a very special place and although I have Meghann, all of the stylists are very talented. I just recently moved to the area and was looking for a reputable place to cut my hair. The last time my hair was cut (by someone else in a different salon) they did a HORRIBLE job so I was very scared to have my hair cut again. I found Loks salon online during a Google search. They already had great reviews so I decided to go out on a limb and trust them. I requested an appointment with Meghann for a wash/cut/blow dry. They got back to me via text message the very next day, super quick response! They required a card to schedule the appointment, which is understandable, who wants to get stood up?! When I arrived 10 minutes before my scheduled time they checked me in immediately, and I only waited about 7 minutes before Meghann called me back to her chair. The ambiance of the salon is absolutely amazing, decorated to perfection, I wouldn't change a thing! Meghann was SUPER personable, and got right into asking me what I was looking for. She listened to exactly what I wanted, and brought me back to the wash bowl where I got the most amazing scalp massage! We chatted a lot and it felt like I was talking to a friend. She cut my hair exactly how I imagined it looking and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I would 100% recommend Meghann or any of the other ladies who work at Loks Salon! We moved from Boston to Groton and I choose this salon after driving by it on my way home. I saw Meghan for a single process color and cut and I haven't gone anywhere since. She did a great job listening to what I wanted and I get a ton of compliments even weeks after going. Whatever products they use are great - my hair is always super-smooth and shiny for 2-3 months after getting it dyed and feels healthy. The price is incredible and the service is five star! I see Meghann everytime because she knows exactly how to trim my thick curly hair so that it looks amazing no matter how I wear it. Excellent experience. I went in to the salon to get my hair fixed after I got a cut I didn't like at another salon. Desi did an amazing job on my hair and gave me a cut I absolutely love! I came in for the first time this morning. Had a 9:30 appointment with Scott Kennedy for a wash and cut and style. I hadn't had a hair cut in a long time, I showed Scott 2 pictures of what I was looking for (long layers) and he did a great job styling my hair. Very happy with the result and I'll be back! Amazing customer service! I called that morning before the Salon opened and left a message, and they called me back shortly after opening and were able to get me in that evening. I was scene at my scheduled appointment time, and I was offered a drink. I had an appointment with Scott and he did an awesome job with my hair! I went from long hair, to short hair with layers. I have had many compliments on how well it looks. Scott was able to take what I was thinking in my head, and bring it to life. I visited Loks Salon today for my first time. I'm from out of town, visiting family, and was in desperate need of a hair cut! I met Danielle today, who was extremely friendly and warm. She inquired about how I normally style my hair and was eager to cut and style it to my liking. Beware going to this salon if you have blond hair!! I had just moved into the area and was looking for a salon to color the roots of my blond hair. I did some research online and found this salon. I made an appointment with the owner since she seemed to have the most experience with color. She had asked me if other salons ever bleached my hair in the past and I told her I wasn't sure. After my hair appointment and her reassuring me my hair looked great, I get home and notice my hair looked BLUE. I had bluish/gray streaks all over my hair and the color didn't take in my hair AT ALL. I called the next morning to tell them of my disappointment and they had me come back in that afternoon. The owner had another one of her employees fix my hair who seemed annoyed that I was there and hardly talked to me at all. The owner came over for a quick apology and tell me she used a product for my hair that reacts with bleach and turns hair blue. What I'm wondering was A) Why would she let me leave her salon in the first place with my hair blue and still dark after the color treatment? and B) If you weren't sure if I had bleach in my hair then why use a product that reacts with it when an alternative was available? At least I wasn't charged a second time for them to fix my blue hair but even after they did the color a second time, the blond color was still not right and you could still see dark roots. read more

LoK's Salon was absolutely amazing. They did my bridal up-do along with my MOB and bridesmaids' hair. They were very professional and fun! Also, super reasonable in price. They did such a great job with everyone's hair - everybody loved their up-do! They even magically turned one of my bridesmaid's bobs into an up-do! Loks is amazing! I've had them cut my hair when it was long, then donated my hair there and had them cut it short (really short), and I've been so happy with every cut! The people who work there are all very friendly and knowledgable (Meghann is my stylist and I love her!). I've also had them do updos for the Sub Ball as well as doing all the updos for my wedding (shout out to Lauren, who did my updo for my wedding - but Meghann and Lo did my bridesmaids' updos and everyone looked fantastic).
