Clark's Bears

Clark's Bears

There are few places in New England that hold onto their magic across generations, and Clark's…read moreBears is absolutely one of them. Returning after all these years -- this time with our grandchildren -- reminded me why this spot remains one of the most unique and joy‑filled experiences anywhere. The park is exceptionally well kept and spotlessly clean, with a staff that is wonderfully down‑to‑earth. It's remarkable how that warm, earthy spirit is felt throughout the entire property. Clark's offers far more than its legendary bear show. You'll find rides, climbing walls, multiple museums, and charming exhibits of yesteryear that celebrate the history of the White Mountains -- even a touch of old‑time circus heritage. And of course, the iconic steam train ride delivers its classic adventure as you face off against the famous Wolfman of the White Mountains. But the bears remain the heart of the experience. There is simply nothing else like it -- a rare, up‑close encounter that is both entertaining and deeply memorable for every generation. Even the food impressed us: reasonable prices, healthy sandwich options, vegetarian choices, and fresh hard ice cream served by some of the kindest young ladies you'll meet. It's a place where families are genuinely cared for. Clark's Bears is a generational treasure -- a place to bring your children, your grandchildren, and anyone who needs a joyful escape into a world of history, nature, and pure fun. Never to be missed. Can't wait to come back.

Fun for the whole family. Reasonably priced and very polite and helpful staff. 5!stars.read more

Story Land - Carousel. The girls loved how they could rock the horses. I have never seen a carousel like this before!

We went last weekend and I think it's a great spot for 2 and 3 year olds. In the fall their hours…read morechange so just be sure you know ahead of time. There are plenty of rides for smaller kids to go on, although they're mostly the same variation of driving a car or a tractor. Our girl loved it. The area with the houses from old stories (little old lady who lived in a shoe, three little pigs, etc) has seen better days and could use a nice refresh. The food and drinks are a little overpriced but we brought in our own snacks and would do that again next year. Very easy to get in and out.

Our family had a fantastic time at Storyland yesterday! Priceless memories and loads of fun! Our…read morethree grandchildren (twins age 9, and 14 year old) all immensely loved everything (except one was anxious about the roller coaster--so each of us adults took turns sitting out a turn with her. For me, the Polar steel coaster was too small and I didn't have enough leg room so knee hit the seat in front of me, then that padded bar punched me in the gut at the end. But the wooden coaster made up for that! I had much more leg room and the bar that holds you in was much bigger and didn't punch. Whew! I will say that overall the wooden coaster was more fun, though it does jerk you around more side-to-side. (I had really been looking forward to both coasters and the water rides!) The bamboo log type flume water ride was probably my favorite. I wasn't expecting that, but could have done it twice (and I'm 64)! The gentleman working the ride graciously helped me in/out of the "log" as it is moving the whole time and your feet get wet too, so it is tricky getting out. I thanked him a lot! I appreciated that Story Land provided free cubbies at each ride so we could stow eyewear and dry clothes etc. in totes/backpacks we brought along because no way would you take those on the rides. Many people brought a wagon with them and next time, we'll do that. I took a small canvas tote with a dry change of clothes, towel, and water shoes. I bought one drink and kept the cup to refill with water. I bought our whole family lunch and it was about what we spend at a full service restaurant ($150 for 7). All in we had an amazing day and I was exhausted by the end. All three granddaughters had a blast! And that's what counts. The beautiful memories.

We are DISNEY, Universal, Busch Gardens, Hersheypark so we don't really hit the midway carnival rides so I can't comment here folks but it look nice for those that like to ride. The food selection was AWESOME! Tacos, burritos, blooming onions, fried dough, soup in a bowl, you name it... they had it!!! 4H has a booth as well for more affordable options! Don't tell my doctors! A wonderful 4H petting station that was available for young and BIG kids and it wasn't CROWDED! Shopping was a little bit on the lacking side for a fair... didn't see the vendor with the $10 Patriots sweatshirts... which may or may not be a good thing!!! Plenty of sheep, cows, goats to look at and plenty of photo opportunities!!! ... a little light on horses, bunnies, and chickens... none really for sale (THANK GOODNESS). We did meet a nice gentleman at his horse trailer and he gave us an extensive overview of the Scottish draft horses. I guess they are endangered because horse meat is big in Europe? The big pro of this fair is that it is CROWDED but NOT MOBBED!!! Easy in and easy out... no sitting for hours in traffic just to park your car. I here that free parking is available but we parked in the $8 lot. AFFORDABLE... for 3 adults and 1 child on Sunday it was $23. Soda cans and water were $1 at most places. Average food prices. They had some shows going on as well which we didn't participate. Some room for improvements: * Real bathrooms please * Missing was a lot of the barns with people giving demonstrations * Didn't see any political activists here (that may be a good thing for some people) Overall... a nice afternoon stroll...

I would not recommend wasting your weekend trying to attend. Just go and have a nice lunch somewhere else and enjoy the changing leaves.
