We are DISNEY, Universal, Busch Gardens, Hersheypark so we don't really hit the midway carnival rides so I can't comment here folks but it look nice for those that like to ride. The food selection was AWESOME! Tacos, burritos, blooming onions, fried dough, soup in a bowl, you name it... they had it!!! 4H has a booth as well for more affordable options! Don't tell my doctors! A wonderful 4H petting station that was available for young and BIG kids and it wasn't CROWDED! Shopping was a little bit on the lacking side for a fair... didn't see the vendor with the $10 Patriots sweatshirts... which may or may not be a good thing!!! Plenty of sheep, cows, goats to look at and plenty of photo opportunities!!! ... a little light on horses, bunnies, and chickens... none really for sale (THANK GOODNESS). We did meet a nice gentleman at his horse trailer and he gave us an extensive overview of the Scottish draft horses. I guess they are endangered because horse meat is big in Europe? The big pro of this fair is that it is CROWDED but NOT MOBBED!!! Easy in and easy out... no sitting for hours in traffic just to park your car. I here that free parking is available but we parked in the $8 lot. AFFORDABLE... for 3 adults and 1 child on Sunday it was $23. Soda cans and water were $1 at most places. Average food prices. They had some shows going on as well which we didn't participate. Some room for improvements: * Real bathrooms please * Missing was a lot of the barns with people giving demonstrations * Didn't see any political activists here (that may be a good thing for some people) Overall... a nice afternoon stroll...

Maybe because it was raining out and more people were there to stay dry? As others have said, games are more expensive. We didn't have much cash on us so we had to be strategic about which games we played to make it last. The machines aren't very generous with tickets (although that could just be a testament to my arcade game skills). The prizes are pretty varied and some options are higher than expected (while others are lower), but they've got some good picks. I spotted a popper I wanted, but we didn't have enough tickets. The guy behind the counter told me I could have it anyway. Half Moon could definitely stand to do some upgrades, specifically to offer a card-based system so people don't have to rely on change.

There were so many beautiful areas along the boardwalk. The lemon squeezer and dungeon were the most difficult but also the most fun! We got a bit muddy and wet but that's all part of the adventure! We also loved the huge birds nest at the end and got a huge laugh out of pretending to be baby birds. I would definitely come back here again!

I had heard there were gorges & caves to explore different from other trails nearby along with beautiful pines and waterfalls. It exceeded all my expectations! It says this is a 1 mile loop hike but be prepared- I walk a 5k daily & this trail kicked my butt in a good way. It was moderately challenging- I went in the rain so it was a bit cooler too. The best advice I could offer is to take a backpack with snacks, another jacket just in case (although i layered up), pack rain pants to help keep me warm in the rain, and shoes with good traction. And plenty of water. Beanies may also be a good option to keep your head warm from the cold. And a portable battery. Also, if you haven't traveled with a car like me..then the Shuttle Connection is a life saver to travel in town. Way cheaper than Uber and fairly quick to transport you wherever you want to go. Also for travelers go back and forth to other states travel by bus is the perfect and most affordable way to travel. This trail offered amazing views, great photo ops, and plenty of additional trails to explore. They also make sure to keep everything maintained and safe for hikers exploring. Everything is well labeled and easy to follow. They do say and I can attest- travelers who have difficulty walking or have walkers etc..this may not be an ideal trail. Also, for younger children this may not be an kdela hike because of how extensive the elevation is. You are climbing a mountain and waterfall elevation. Make sure to look up details on their trail before you plan a trip. But well worth the hike :)

Expect a day trip for 2 to be over $100 for tickets alone. Food and drink in the park is pricey, like you would expect for an amusement park. The great thing about Funtown is that you are fully able to bring in your own food. My family opted for the annual season pass, as we come multiple times a season. If you plan to attend more than once, I highly recommend going the pass route. It pays for itself after 2-3 trips. Does it need updating? Sure, but honestly, it's part of the charm. Go forth and have a good time!

My family and I had a good ol' time at Funtown Splashtown USA when visiting Maine this summer…read more We've never visited this park, and now that our kiddos are taller and can ride all the rides, we thought we would give it a try. We went on a Wednesday at the end of June and it was not crowded at all. My kids had a blast! Right when the park opened we headed to Excalibur and rode it about 4 times to start off the morning. Everyone was so excited to ride it that many times. It's a wooden roller coaster that is a lot of fun. I highly recommend it. We hit all the Funtown rides multiple times. They loved the bumper cars, the vintage car track, the wild mouse, thunder falls log flume (which gets a little bumpy, but it cools you down on that drop), Atmosphere (which is an indoor Sizzler type ride with music and animations, that is the weirdest thing I think I've even seen in my life), and especially Whispering Pines Haunted Hotel. That last one is a dark ride where you have to save people from ghosts. You get a laser type gun to shoot at the targets and keep your score. I'm not sure how accurate they really were, but it was fun none the less. After a pretty "meh" lunch, we headed to the Splashtown area. They have a few water slides, a pool for the kids to swim in, and a little splash pad. The water slides were fun, until I bonked my head goind down Amphitrite's Challenge. You go down head first on a mat and for some reason on one of the turns my head didn't follow along. It hurt pretty bad, and I had one of the EMT's on staff help me out. He was very very nice and gave me an ice pack. I appreciated his kindness as I felt so silly after the event. Overall, we had a fun day exploring Funtown Splashtown USA. If you are looking for something to entertain the kiddos for the day, this is definitely a nice option.

This was fantastic and I noticed right away that they had no sticks or prongs or things to hit the bear with, just ice cream! The bears are adorable and they will not make a bear do what it doesn't want to do so sometimes the show will not be the same. I really appreciate this. The pricing for everything was decent, the train ride was about 20 minutes and I enjoyed it. The food was okay (normal theme park food). It was rather chilly when we went so I didn't get to do the water slide which is my only regret - it looked super fun! I would DEFINITELY recommend and would be back.

RUDE staff for an almost abandoned hotel that can't afford to lose customers…read more I spent $1,000 to stay at the hotel with the waterpark passes. There were about 5 people total in the water park. I came to tell the kids to come back to room in 15 minutes. A young lifeguard confronted me and said I didn't have a wristband. As I was in my street clothes and about 10 feet from the door, I informed her that I wasn't swimming and just came to tell the kids something. I also told her that I did have a wristband in my room and I was not walking back. She decided to make this the hill she would die on and continued the tirade. She was very persuasive and convinced me never to go back here again. I will gladly spend my money at Great Wolf Lodge, which is 100 times better and the staff treats customers respectfully.

The baby deer was SO CUTE and the animals are adorable and come right up to you. We were OVERJOYED that we had the ENTIRE zoo to ourselves cause it was raining but the monkeys were still going wild and howling! It was so much fun! Also Moxie is my favorite animal- she is three years old and is a beautiful Tiger. She sat right in front of us and was majestic to appreciate- she is a calm tiger. All the animals are taken care for and we are so glad we made the stop today! It was $18 per person and honestly had a blast. There were hundreds of ducks lying on the side of the pond, unable to swim due to the duckweed infestation. It was actually very depressing to see. I really hope these conditions are addressed. It is also worth mentioning that the ride section hasn't been worth visiting in many years. More than half of the rides are gone and the ones that remain do not look properly maintained. I grew up visiting this amusement park and the condition it is in now is really sad.
