This was my first time flying Loganair, dubbed "Scotland's Airline", which I never knew existed until I was given our finalized European itinerary. We used them from Glasgow (GLA) to get to Islay (ILY), an island in Scotland during our two-week long European trip, and from ILY to GLA.
Along with flying Loganair for the first time, this was also my first time on a commercial propeller plane (model ATR 42), AND getting back to GLA from ILY ended up being the shortest flight I've ever been on in my life, which only lasted 20 minutes, beating out two of my separate 45 minute long flights to California. Your carry on size must be limited to a very small bag (i.e., purse), as there's not a whole lot of space underneath the seat in front of you. If the criteria are not met, you may have to check your bag in.
Since both flights to and back were super short, no cabin service was provided, which was expected. The first flight went smoothly with no issues at all, but the second flight was a little wobbly, especially during takeoff and landing, which was a little nerve wracking for me.
Despite the bumpy takeoff and landing on the second flight, I didn't have any problems with this airline at all. Not bad as a first timer. read more
