He pulled over again and said that we wouldn't move until he was sure I was ok. As I wasn't sure it wouldn't happen again, I opted to get out of the car and walk the final part of the journey (at least a 15 minute walk). Before he left he spoke to his manager. I also spoke to her and gave my email address, asking that I get sent the invoice once the car had been cleaned. I paid my fare and got out. Less than five minutes later I got a call from the office saying that my payment had failed. When I explained I didn't know how they said that the cost was £71 ( original fare was £31) and said that they had already added the cleaning fee to the fare price but until that point no one had told me, or the driver, this. We agreed the driver would come back to take the payment but I explained that I wasn't home yet and I would be there shortly. Five minutes later the office called me again and without any greeting on the phone immediately asked if someone was coming to pay the driver. I once again explained that I was on my way but I had got out of the car 15 minutes away from the address they sent the driver to. I did eventually get home and meet the driver to make the payment. He could not have been any nicer or patient with me and was so nice about the whole situation but the office staff lacked any kind of empathy, sympathy or patience and made an already awful and embarrassing situation so much worse. The driver treated me with so much respect and patience but the office were so rude and demeaning. I usually swear by this company but I definitely wouldn't be recommending them any time soon.

A taxi was booked, I waited for half an hour on the Tuesday, before the taxi turned up. Then last night, I was waiting about two hours, but never turned up. I phoned myself, asked what happened to the taxi. The office staff member asked, if I was looking for a taxi. I explained that I was nearly there for 2 two hours, he then just hung up on me. They were told on both occasion, that I was going to Glasgow Central Station for a train back home to Greenock. There was to be "Storm Diana" making an appearance. I had nasty thoughts that the trains would be cancelled, and me stranded in Glasgow. This company should have their Operators Licence revoked, if this is the way they treat passengers, especially visitors to Glasgow.

Got a taxi from Wellman cars from chalterhault park to my house from reg number FD58DAW. My son is…read more3 year old and had to climb to his seat because he's small. We had just left a park and my son left a couple of muddy footprints on his seat due to the climbing. It will come off with a wet cloth!His car was already filthy before this.This taxi driver spent the whole journey making us feel uncomfortable. Snide remarks and shouted a couple of times as well because of this couple of footprints on his seat. I kept my mouth shut thinking if I said anything right now he would turf us out and leave us abandoned. After getting told that all their taxi drivers have card machines he told me I couldn't use card and forced me to go to a bank machine. I nip out to grab money from the machine and he's in the back of the car doing something. He was holding my son down and grabbing him forcefully. He dropped us off and shouted at me as well then has complained that I stood up for myself eventually after having to deal with any of this. Wellman trying to cover up instead of deal with it. Haven't even heard back from them or had as little as an apology.

In my experience the taxi will appear before the stated time. All drivers are pleasant and hospitable and cars are kept clean and tidy. Identification badges are always clearly on display for the drivers. Driving standard is also high and I have been well able to relax on any trip. I usually find prices to be cheaper than many other companies and great value for money.

I chose Edinburgh Executive Carriages (ECC) because they were listed on the Edinburgh Airport Web site. I booked a driver from the airport to our hotel through the ECC Web site. The site requires you to submit your arrival date and time as well as the number of passengers and your preferred vehicle (sedan or van). According to the site, the company will contact you by e-mail with payment instructions if the timeslot is available. Having been through this sort of thing before, I was somewhat concerned about the length of time before I'd hear back. My concern was unnecessary since I received a reply within minutes with a link to worldpay to prepay the booking. We were going to be in Edinburgh for two weeks and had a lot of luggage, so I'd requested a van because I didn't think the sedan would have enough trunk space. There was some confusion on my part because the reply email specified a Mercedes as the vehicle. After a very quick back-and-forth series of emails, ECC confirmed that it was a V-class (van) with plenty of luggage space and we'd be fine. Whole point of sharing these details is to illustrate how refreshingly quick ECC is with email communicate. 5-stars for communication. I'd been to the Edinburgh airport only once before and since I couldn't find any details on international pick-ups with ECC (they go into detail about their planeside pickup, but that's only for UK travel), I had some uncertainty about where we'd meet our driver. We found him immediately upon exit from the Customs area. He introduced himself took my wife's bags as well as some of mine and led us out the door to the van, which was maybe 100 feet from the airport exit. The van was the most comfortable van I'd ever sat in and had no problem holding all of our bags (including our carry-ons) in the back. Our driver was quite personable and during the 15-20 minute drive to our hotel, we had a pleasant conversation. He seemed genuinely happy that we were visiting Scotland and made us feel welcome from the start. When we arrived at the hotel, he unloaded our bags and helped us inside to the desk where we parted ways. I have zero complaints about ECC, their staff, or the driver. On the contrary it was a great experience and the next time I need transportation from the Edinburgh Airport, I won't hesitate to use Edinburgh Executive Carriages.

I would just like to start and say myself partner, son and father in law travelled from Edinburgh…read moreto glasgow on the 16th of march. My partner has recently gone blind where he is blind in one full eye and half in the right eye and is still trying to face his daily routine and get around using his blind stick. We both want to thank the guys that are around the busses before departure offering to help him on the bus as we were ready to head back to Edinburgh and another guy saving us a seat on the lower ground as the bus was quite busy.
