I can't remember the last time I actually used a high street travel agent, there seems so few of them these days as most folk book online.
However, we had need of a more customised holiday trip than just a standard return flight as we want to got to New Zealand and then spend a few days in Sydney on the way back; so as we were passing and purely on a whim, we went in here to see what they could offer.
As it turns out, they specialise in Oz & NZ flights and Craig, the assistant manager, was super helpful and advised us on several different options. We went home with a brochure and made a list of things we wanted to include, then (having made an appointment) we went back in to meet Craig again.
After immediately saving us nearly £1000 by going with a different airline (via Gatwick, my least favourite airport, but hey ho), Craig immediately got on the phone whilst we went and did a bit of shopping. Twenty minutes later, he had put together the whole itinerary, including hotels, car hire, ferries, flights - the lot!
It's probably the most expensive holiday we've ever booked, and I don't know how much more or less it would have cost had we tried to sort everything out ourselves; but I really don't care! The time it saved, and the ease at which Craig put this complete package together made it entirely worthwhile, as all we need to do now (apart from paying the balance of course!) is turn up at the airport, secure in the knowledge that every detail of the trip is taken care of. read more
