From the initial phone call to Don's timely arrival and expert service, the entire experience was exceptional. I highly recommend Mr. Electric! I am so grateful to Mr. Electric for their prompt, professional service. Over the weekend, Dominion Power shut off electricity to my home with no advance notice other than a ring of my doorbell informing me that the power would be off for 30 minutes while they transferred service to a new underground power line. When I asked about the promised customer notification, I received no clear response. Approximately 45-50 minutes later, the power was restored, but something was terribly wrong. Some lights were extremely dim, while others were unusually bright. None of my electronics were working, and I smelled a burning odor. I immediately informed Dominion of the problem, including the burning odor, and called 911. I also contacted Dominion and requested emergency dispatch, specifically instructing them not to attempt to restart the power. The Fire Department evaluated my home and advised me that it was safe to remain there as long as the two affected circuit breakers remained in the OFF position. Both the Fire Department and Dominion advised me to have a **licensed electrician** evaluate the situation. Dominion's claims department also advised me to have the electrician document the findings and provide the associated costs. I called Mr. Electric, and from the very beginning, the service was exceptional. **David, the intake representative,** deserves special recognition for patiently reviewing my information to ensure everything was correct and initiating the process to dispatch a licensed electrician. Within 15-20 minutes, **Don, the licensed electrician,** contacted me, provided his name and photo so I would know who to expect, and called to let me know he would arrive in 15 minutes. He arrived right on time! Don walked me through each step of the process, explained how he would address my concerns, and patiently answered all my questions. He was sensitive to my fears and understood that safety was my primary concern. He went above and beyond to help me feel informed and reassured during an extremely stressful situation. Don tested the circuit breakers for proper operation and replaced the two that had been damaged following the power surge and suspected open-neutral voltage issue that occurred when Dominion restored power.
