As a follow-up, it is only fair that I share that Loftis Repair DID take care of the problem with my mower. I gave them one more chance to 'clean-up' the situation. I was referred to 'Tony', one of the mechanics. He listened closely to my problem, said he would take care of it and call me when it was done. The shop called me a week later and told me the mower was ready to be picked up. When we arrived, Tony was summoned and he brought out the mower for us and explained everything that had been done to the mower. He started up the mower and demonstrated that all was in good working order. All of our issues had been taken care of. We were very impressed with Tony and his authenticity and sincerity. The mower has been working perfectly since then. Because of him, we are happy to give the shop another chance. But I will add, the shop REALLY needs to upgrade their customer service and their record-keeping. No customer should have to wait around for 20 minutes while their equipment is located. But, because of Tony, we will give them another chance next time any of our equipment needs repair. read more

Will never take my equipment in to them for repairs. Took in 2 leave blowers that were running rough along with a mower deck that needed a new spindle. Ran both blowers for less than an hour and neither one of them is running , the problem we had prior to taking them in is now worse. The young kid behind the counter was a punk . read more

I called the following Monday and was told they would get to it by Wednesday..... Friday at the latest. Friday came and went.....no word. Same for Monday. Tuesday I called and they said they hadn't looked at it yet but maybe later this week. Finally we said "We'll be in tomorrow morning to pick it up." We live a good 30-40 minutes away. We just decided to take it elsewhere. I mean we dropped it off and July and would kind of like to have it back before the warranty expires in 8 months. So we traveled all the way out there to pick it up and they told us that someone was working on it right now and it it will be about an hour and a half. Ok....... and knowing we were coming out first thing in the morning to pick it up and take it elsewhere you didn't think it was necessary to call us so we wouldn't travel all this way? So communication is LOUSY. They don't keep their word. They obviously don't care about ethics, reliability, their customers time , honesty, or return business. They may answer their phone......they may not. It's a crap shoot. read more

Do NOT take your equipment here!! I dropped off my x500 in June after hitting a rock while mowing and shearing the bolt in the spindle. When I dropped it off they asked if I wanted new blades - I said ok, but they weren't in terrible shape. I told them if they couldn't drill out the bolt that replacing the spindle was fine. They gave me an approximate turn around of two weeks. Fast forward two months later - still no mower. When I called to get an update they stated it's because they mower blades were backordered. This was false - they were trying to order an obsolete part number. After picking up blades at the dealership and dropping them off at Loftis personally, along with informing them of the part number error - a week later an still no mower. At this point I had my husband call and now they told him now we have a bad spindle - we dropped it off two months ago!!! So they didn't fix the spindle because they were waiting on blades that weren't really backordered????!!!!!. Another note, I was never unkind or rude to the gentlemen at the counter but I do believe they handled me in a way because I am female. My husband called and they treated him completely differently. The reason for my 1 star is because the customer service and repair service has gone from great to questionable. I had my mower in their shop for a simple tune up. After 2 weeks it was returned and did not last one mowing. Called them to come pick up and fix (which I thought would be covered under warranty). But was informed they do not warranty their work. They stated I needed a new carburetor. I had them replace carburetor which took 6 weeks. I stopped in to inquire about statis of mower and was told it was ready, so I asked for it to be started up, upon startup it was found that they had not adjusted carburetor properly (throttle was wide open so I mower was able to idle). I told them I had arranged for a trailer and was going to pick up mower next day or I believe my mower would still be in their shop. Loftis did a great job a couple of years ago, but I am sorry to say that a simple tune that cost me over $400 and no warranty is very bad business. read more

They have a lag regarding the turnaround time to get mowers returned from what should be routine servicing. The typical wait time to get seasonal servicing done on mowers, at Loftis, is approximately two weeks. We bought our mower from Loftis approximately four years ago, and the turn around time used to be less than a week for servicing; their customer service has gone downhill, which is a huge disappointment. We will most likely focus on finding someone else to better service our mower, and in less time. Do not turn to these guys if you want your mower dealt with in time for you to begin mowing for the season. Tried calling for an explanation as to what the hold up is, and the guy never returned back to the phone. I was on the line for approximately 15 minutes. Tried calling back and the phone just rang and rang. I also tried calling a few days ago, and the person who answered the phone wasn't even aware that we dropped our mower off. We didn't drop our mower off, Loftis picked it up. It has only been in the last two years that we've truly had a problem with their customer service. Purchased a new lawn mower from them found out it was a used mower from Lowes tried to get the to take and fix issues was treated so badly a no one there could find and of my info embarrassed me treated me like dirt I feel taken advantage off at least I found a company to fix it a well known company that's when I found the dirty little secret of it being a damaged Lowes lawn mower. read more

Very unreliable and unprofessional, and only did part of the job. Set up an appointment for them to come get our mower for repair and routine maintenance through the Lowe's service/protection plan. They didn't show up or call. They finally came and got the mower 5 days later, and arrived late because the driver left the work order at the office. After they'd had my mower for two weeks, we contacted them through Lowe's and they finally brought it back near the end of the day. They didn't say what they did or leave any kind of receipt or service order. On inspecting the mower after delivery, they did the repair, but did not do the routine maintenance. The blades were not sharpened and the oil was not changed. Next time I use my Lowe's protection plan, I'll definitely ask for a different provider. Loftis Small Engine does not provide the kind of service one expects after paying $500 extra for a service plan. I wouldn't recommend Loftis Small Engine, and my feedback to Lowe's will strongly suggest they find a different company for their contract work. Loftis is makung Lowe's look bad. read more

In April we were planning to take our older Ariens to an Ariens dealer for repair but because a neighbor recommended this shop and we are new to the area, we called Loftis. They picked up the mower and after 2 weeks we called them. They spent endless time looking for our work order and said they would get to it the next day. A week later, same story. Long story short, and many calls later we got our mower back - in JUNE! 2 months! $239.74 later it worked for 2 hours and stopped. We called them and they said they were sending someone the next morning. We waited. We called. They were running late and would send someone as soon as they finished the call they were on. We waited. We called. They delivery guy had to go home but they would send someone as soon as they were freed up. No call and nobody came. These people are beyond unprofessional. They are inept, they are disorganized - the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing, and how they can be in business is beyond us. NEVER AGAIN. And if they do not fix this we will be demanding a refund and turning them in to the Better Business Bureau. read more

Terrible customer service, only reason we use Loftis is because there is no one else in Ozark. Loftis picked up our lawn mower because it wouldn't start, they had it for 2 weeks, and they never called to tell us it was finished. We finally called and by golly it was done! They dropped the lawn mower off while we were not home, so we went by the store to pay for it. When we got home the lawn mower still wouldn't start, not sure what they did to it that cost $126 as they didn't write it on the receipt. Have called them 4 times to pick up lawn mower again to actually fix it and we are still waiting for them to come, have not come when they said they would, and do not bother to communicate with you that they are not. I understand being busy during the summer months, but communicate that to us and we would be more than understanding instead of giving empty promises. Would definitely recommend going somewhere else until the management can get act together. read more
