My wife and I were craving Hawaiian fried chicken so we came to the "new" location. Place is smaller than the Artesia location, but the food is still awesome. The portion was gigantic and we took have of our chicken home. We left happy campers.

The staff were friendly and the food was great. Myself born in Hawaii gives them a thumbs up for good tasting local style food. And the portions were great for the price.

Recently moved to a new location. They are now off Western Ave in Gardena. They are in a little strip center shared with other businesses parking is small here especially at peak times and weekends either the other eating places. This place is in the corner and very small inside. If you plan to dine in there are only a few table if you have a big group it will be tough to dine in here. Overall the food is good here this is my favorite place for bacon fried rice.

Katsu is HUGE!

Awesome amount of food for price. Good food quality. They can use a few tips though on their sides. It's more of a take out place. Dine in felt like a warehouse

I did t like the food very much....... LOL!!!

The Loft is the place for Gardena Hawaiian comfort food. I have been going there since I was a kid. I remember riding up the elevator with my parents to the loft location off of Normandie. I have always finished whatever is on my plates. The lady that was helping us promptly took our order at the counter. This is different than the table service as before, but fine by me. I ordered my combination of beef, chicken, and pork; then went to take a seat. In a few minutes, the server brought out the food to the chosen table. I love the color scheme and decor when going to this restaurant. Looking at the old photos reminded me of my days of playing baseball and basketball. The Loft has been around for decades. There's a reason why. The food always puts a smile on my face! I hope it does on yours!

Korean BBQ beef & bacon fried rice are my faves at this place. So good! They have a pretty good Chinese chicken salad too.

I like this Loft but menu prices too high. I can go to the Loft in Lakewood and get the Island Chicken plate for $5 less.

Not sure why they moved. Parking is almost non-existent. No dining in, take out only. Had to park on the side street about a block away.

Ask the Community - Loft Hawaiian Restaurant

Do you serve beer at your new location?

Hi David, sorry but we do not sell beer or alcohol. We share a space with a bar but we don't have a liquor license so we can't sell.

Did they open up at another location or is this their only one?

There are a few of them but I believe some locations are run by different owners.

This is in a little food court, but a high quality food court. There are so many great options here! Theres a parking lot, and plenty of seating inside and outside. It's a causal spot, nice and clean with plenty of options. You place your order at the counter (you can use the ipad to order, except if you want the Fak'ed up fries, those you need to order with an employee). The shrimp - I could eat these forever. Holy toledos these are so good. I got the karaage chicken with the cheehoo teri sauce. The sauce is soooooo bomb. The chicken is perfectly cooked. And the red noon is the perfect addition of acidity. The Mac salad was great, stick to your ribs kinda good Now I ordered several other plates for my friend, including the teriyaki chicken, and the fak'ed up fries with shrimp and karaage chicken. He said the fak'ed up fries were fire, so good, he didn't even know that's exactly what he wanted. I have to come back to try them - I didn't know they were a thing bc they're not on the menu. But after I placed my original order I saw a video of the fak'ed up fries on their board and they looked so good, I had to buy them for him. I also got him the crispy spam musubi and the POGua Fresca, and he loved those. I will definitely DEFINITELY be back here!

There are a lot of new options and unfortunately no more chicken katsu. After my previous review, the owner actually reached out and offered to have me come back and try the food again, which I genuinely appreciated. I never took them up on the free food offer because I prefer to keep reviews honest, but the gesture still stood out to me. This time I ordered the 2-item combo with the honey sesame chicken karaage and kalua pork. The karaage was easily my favorite part of the meal. It was crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. I asked for all the sauces on the side and the green sauce paired really well with it. The kalua pork was tender, but a little sweeter than I personally prefer for traditional kalua pork, so I'd probably try a different protein next time instead. I also grabbed a spam musubi, but the portions were so generous that I didn't even get around to eating it until I got home later. While I still miss the old chicken katsu, I get that menus evolve, and overall this visit was a much better experience than my previous one.

I have been to Hawaii. A friend of mine won a give away by stuffing a ballot box at a grocery…read morestore, and then he gave me the plus one ticket. Was it a trip gotten via ill ways? Back then I did not think of that. And now that I do, I say the breeze of Hawaii would help anyone understand that what he did was a youth Indiscretion, like going for a swim in the cloak of darkness while only wearing a lei. Going to Back Home in Lahaina was not a trip back to the Big Island, I won't say that, but it was a moment of joy inspired heavily by a Hawaiian decor that both bordered on the tragically kitsch and the whimsically fun depending on where you stood or sat. But the true treasure of this Hawaiian micro-isle is their fare-- no doubt about that. After the meal my friend Conrad and I went to the front of the house, where they have the to go section. This is where the kitsch became most circus-y. Although, I did not clip everyhing, I did clip a make your own lei kit, hawaiian stickers, and other things that make the place feel like a tourist trap for Hawaiian hopefuls. For me, the tawdry lessened the impact of the Aloha I heard from the dining room. In sharp contrast, the main dining room had this mural of a whale coming out of deep blue water with Hawaiian florals on the edge of the land that was more transportive to the land where coconuts fall from palm trees and hula skirts are a must for every closet. The main room dining room also had these string lights and sphere paper lamps that made me feel like I was eating at a night market where I could see the stars of a Hawaiian skiy but it was both day time, and there was a roof above me. The food was the situation that needs to be address though, with great respect and admiration because almost every bite was supremely good. My friend Conrad and I first shared a Lahaina Platter- basically their appetizer platter or to be Hawaiian their pupu platter, and please do not go for the easy joke it is not that funny and really kind of base and gross, if the wrong person is making it. The must of the spot, unsurprisingly, is their Lahaina fried chicken. The chicken was crispy, flavorful, and kind of like karage chicken but different with the spices and flavors and ocean fronts of Hawaii. I know I did not make sense but I gotta believe that Hawaiian culture made the dish great and Hawaiian culture is partly define by waterfront property. My favorite things from the dish were the Lumpia which are often described as Filipino eggrolls. The pork meat was flavorful, the paper wrapping was on point, like wonderfully thin yet still structurally strong, not crispy, more firm with crisp. The Cinderella story of the day was the spam musubi. The saltiness of the seaweed was present but not in an overblown way, the sweetness of their teriyaki sauce carried savory notes that uplifted the sweet notes, in a wonderful way, their sticky rice was textbook fluffy and fabulous. Overall, I would nitpick flaws. And for this review I do not feel like finding the wrong cracks on a whole coconut skin. My main dish was their bbq grilled chicken plate. I could not finish everything at the restaurant. I had cold left overs at home and they hit the spot in this way that really earned my respect, because cold left overs still holding strong that is like seeing a shooting star while you enoy Mai Tais in a white beach---- living the improbable dream. What was best out of the bunch was their Lahaina chicken. And again, even though the fried goodness had withdrawn, the flavor and textured that remained was still, in a way, intact and in some ways optimal. I just shivered admitting that. I was happy with the food overall, and want to communicate that it was a strong showing for a place that sits within a strip mall. Do not just a shore by the lack of its crashing wave sounds. I also love the name of this place. Like I went back to Lahaina, has personality. Like it is a name that drips from the tongue even though it is long. Pluis, saying multiple times in a conversation makes the place feel important. Conrad had some cheesecake with jello and he loved it. I did not try it, but it was unique and I did not think such a dessert existed. The crust was walnut, I would have thought it would be Macadamia. I definetetly love this place and want to back again soon!

The friendly staff and the amazing interior was so welcoming alongside the well priced drinks with all different games on each TV made this place feel amazing. Once I started off with the spam musubi, I was surprised by how it was bland and un flavorful it was. Even though it had sauce on top it tasted like I just had rice with meat as it was lacking the seasoning. Our entrees arrived, which looked phenomenal, but was then again hit with blandness even though it was smothered in sauce. The burger was bland and the Mac salad tasted like mush. Maybe some changes to the sauce and adding more seasoning may help these amazing looking dishes as I wanted to enjoy them but sadly couldn't.

I have to drive a little further out than I normally would, but this casual eatery is worth it…read more I've made it a point for myself to try something new each time I visit this establishment. Earlier this week, I ordered two of my personal favorite items. - Combo Plate w/Double Salmon Spicy Mayo - Beef Rib Plate w/1 scoop of rice and mac salad I highly recommend asking for a couple of samples of poké flavors you're curious about before ordering. I got to try CA Hawaiian and Spicy Garlic Salmon which were also fantastic. And you simply can't go wrong with their Shoyu. I'll have to try getting different flavors in my combo plate vs. doubling up next time. Salmon Spicy Mayo is creamy, with a perfect kick to it that makes this specific poké flavor ADDICTING. Truthfully, it's only spicy if you eat too fast. Beef rib plate was fantastic. The item pictured was only my 2nd time ordering this. Moving forward, it's hard not to order considering a) this has a nice smoky flavor b) the meat is so tender & succulent it falls off the bone with a little shake (portion matches the price point, which I deeply appreciate since other places will skimp out on beef). I think the only things I was bummed about was my scoop of mac salad was tiny and there wasn't much furikake on my rice. Not by any means, a major deal since I ultimately got money's worth in juicy beef ribs. Service was stellar. A polite young woman had 2 other customers in front of me with hefty orders, but I was still taken care of promptly.
