Went to Locktec to have a new car key made. They had a shell in stock and were able to get a new key made quickly. They were able to transfer the electronics in the old key fob to the new key so I didn't have to wait and pay for a download. I was in and out in about half an hour. We needed to get an old deadbolt replaced and hoped that Locktec would be able to find a cylinder that would come close to matching the cover plates so that we wouldn't have to replace everything. Entering the store we were warmly greeted. Hubs explained that we needed a new cylinder if possible. The lady at Locktec said they had a comparable cylinder that she thought would be suitable. The technician called to set up our appointment and he was on time for the service call. It was a short time later that the new cylinder was keyed and installed. The cylinder matched the old hardware and the cover plates were back in place. We were thoroughly pleased with our technician and the excellent job he did. We highly recommend the services at Locktec. They are reliable and on time. Can I give this business zero stars? Pathetic. My brother and I called b/c this locksmith was the closest to us. The old guy Glenn said he was on his way. 45 minutes later we called wondering where he was and the lady that answered the phone said that Glenn was headed to a doctor's appointment first then headed our way. I hope Glenn is OK, but I sure wish he would have told us this instead of saying he was on his way. Really bad customer service! read more

I can't recommend this place. AT ALL! I've been there three times and the silver-haired, bespectacled guy manning the counter is CLUELESS. Fortunately other employees have bailed him out and I've EVENTUALLY, gotten what I needed. This guy, who MAY be the owner, simply doesn't know where certain keys are, how to look stuff up in the book, tricks to copying keys, what he has in stock, nothing. This business needs someone who knows what they are doing to deal with customers who come through the door, not a beginner or clueless owner. I'm not going back. Home Depot with their laser-guided cutter does a better and faster job cutting duplicate keys than this firm. read more

Nothing fancy, they just get the job done. Reliable, easy to work with, reasonable rates. They have taken care of the locks and security systems for both our home and small business for many years. I especially like that they are willing to do a security review of your property and make recommendations based on real world issues. I thought I might need to upgrade to a newer security system, but they showed me how me existing system did everything the newer ones did for my particular circumstances.
