Angie was at the door and welcomed me to her salon the moment I arrived. She made me feel really comfortable and I had such great time just getting to know her and having conversations with her. I had extremely damaged, uneven bleached and box dyed over hair and somehow Angie was still able to even out my hair, give me more highlights, lighten it, and on top of still having healthy feeling hair as I left her salon. Also, when she was washing my hair, she also made sure my Airpod in my ear did not get wet at all, which is a little detail I appreciated a lot. Angie also made sure to check up on me every now and then during my appointment and also answered all my questions I had when it came to bleaching my hair, highlights, hair products, and hair routines. I had my hair done by Kami who was very sweet, kind, and walked me through every step. It was my first time ever dying my hair and was a little nervous for the process but she was recommended by a friend who always does a magnificent job on her hair, so naturally I felt excited with her! You can really tell when someone is passionate in what they do and move away from a "job" making you feel secure and comfortable in even the simplest or nerve-wracking situations. Highly recommend her! The studio is located in a plaza with so much to do whether its shop, grab a bite to eat, or catching up with friends over some drinks at the corner bar. I had reached out to Orlando who was extremely kind and helpful with the process needed for my hair. The stars are truly only for him. We had spoken on a Saturday and I was told I would be matched shortly with a hairdresser that same day. I hadn't heard anything for a few days so on Wednesday I texted him asking about how the process was going to match me up with someone. He said Lorraine had tried calling me and even tried to leave a voicemail and gave me her number to contact. I was extremely apologetic and told him I would call her right after work. I had checked multiple times and had no missed calls in the last days. When she later picked up the phone, I very kindly said 'hello is this Lorraine' and her automatic response was 'yeah, not only did I try calling you, but I also tried texting you as well and you never responded' in an extremely rude tone, didn't even say hello and wasn't even kind about the mixup. I was taken aback and truly didn't know how to respond as on my end I legitimately had no misses calls and definitely no missed texts. I was never even given a chance to respond to apologize before she continued to go on about my hair, what needed to be done and trying to get me in for a consolation. When I finally was given a chance to speak, I apologized to her very kindly and said on my end there wasn't any missed calls or texts. I then went on to tell her i would be out of town the day she was trying to get me in for a consultation and wouldn't be able to make it. She very rudely responded 'well I'm not trying to get you in for an ACTUAL APPOINTMENT, just a consultation'. Obviously I knew this, I was just relaying I wouldn't be in town at all. She tried looking for another day she had available and that's when, yet again, I tried to apologize to her about the text/call mixup. I truly felt bad and didn't like how she had been speaking to me. I figured if she knew how apologetic I was she would be kinder to me. She completely ignored me, did not respond for a while then said very shortly that I would just have to get into contact with her when I was back in town. I'm hoping she just didn't hear me but either way this enter call had just been rude. Needless to say I will not be pursuing this salon, if someone cannot treat me kindly or even be understanding of a mixup they do not get my business and cannot touch my hair. Again, or Orlando was great and extremely helpful. The stars are only for him. I'm hoping this was just an off day or moment and no one else has had to deal with being treated as such but this was my experience.
