When they did the scalp review, I saw that my scalp was extremely oily but then once she did the whole head spa experience, Dora showed me the after and my scalp looked SO clean and my hair itself was so amazingly healthier!! Also, I brought my two other friends to this head spa and they were able to accommodate me and my friends by bringing in another staff member which in my opinion I think that's just so amazing as they were able to accommodate me and my friends! 10/10 experience, I think everyone should do this at least once in their lifetime haha, I 100% would recommend this place again!! read more

From the beginning, Dora was extremely professional and attentive. She started with a detailed scalp analysis, which made the entire experience feel very personalized rather than just a standard treatment. You can tell she genuinely understands scalp health and takes the time to tailor everything to your needs. The treatment itself was amazing... Everything from the deep cleansing to the essential oil rejuvenation felt intentional and soothing. The scalp rejuvenation and oxygenation steps were especially impressive. It was a pleasant experience and Daisy did a wonderful job with my hair and the massage. The service started with a scalp analysis. Daisy was very patient in explaining how to best take care of my hair and took great care in blow drying my hair after the service. If you are like me and one of your favorite parts of getting a haircut is having your hair washed, the 90-minute treatment was the best, most thorough version of that. The atmosphere was clean and kept calm with dim lighting in the treatment space and typical massage music playing. Elaine did a great job checking in with me about the pressure and water temperature throughout. I appreciated how she took her time and how kind she was. If I were to give one critique, I have curly hair and was nervous what it was going to look like afterward, and my nerves were justified in the sense that my hair wasn't dried and styled properly for my hair type. I appreciated the use of a diffuser and curly hair products but those were used after my hair was fully dried and combed through dry, which is not curly-hair friendly. However, I don't feel this is worth giving less stars for because I didn't go for a styling service and was given exactly what I came for. Overall, I would highly recommend this treatment! read more

I am giving them 3 stars, because from the moment I walked in they started asking for more money! I was supposed to pay 100$ for my scalp and head massage! Then they said I had dandruff, which I did, but they charged me an extra 20$ for the use of some special shampoo. Then as soon as I sat down the lady started asking me for 20$ for a facial! When I was paying, the lady started charging me for more money! I felt they were ripping me off! When I said I didn't want to tip, because I felt that they are charging me for extras anyway! The lady started telling me: "are you sure, didn't we do a good job?" She also said that the amount i am paying doesn't include tip! I am not a cheap person, I always tip when I do my hair or nails. My husband and I went the day before Valentine's Day to celebrate together. The experience was amazing! We got the upgraded spa package and facial each. It was so relaxing, so cool to see our scalps and what they needed, and Dora was sweet and accommodating. She noticed that my hair has a natural curl to it so offered me the diffuser and curl products, and they noticed that my husband's hair is thinning (shh don't tell him) so they used a hair growth serum on his scalp. After reading their reviews I didn't see any for Summer, so I called back and ask to be seen by Dora, they said she was off the day of my appointment, I then asked for Daisy, because she also had good reviews. I was told ok, Daisy would be my therapist. The shampoo and massages were nice, and relaxing. After my service the therapist said her name was Summer. I thought wow they lied to me and gave me who they originally wanted to in the first place. This was very disappointing, I felt duped. So, so good. This is a very no frills head spa. I've been (and paid more) for others that focus more on the fizzy drinks, fluffy chairs and cutesy pictures. Don't be deceived by the outside being more of a strip mall vibe. This place is a hidden gem of a spa. Lynn was my spa tech and she took her time. I got the VIP experience (used a Groupon) and felt I was taken care of. My scalp felt clean and my hair felt really nice. They use beautiful products and the massage that goes with the scalp cleaning was so nice. I was debating a drive to Orange County to go to another head spa, but I think I'll stick around. I also booked the spot online the night before. They charge a few bucks for a credit card but you can tip with one too. read more

One star because ZERO isn't an option! Absolutely awful experience. I received almost none of the services Dr Head Spa advertises all over their Instagram. Instead of relaxing, the entire session was painful and borderline abusive. The woman performing my service repeatedly dug her nails into my scalp over and over. Not massage. Digging. I left with my scalp raw and tender, and it was still sore more than 24 hours later. There were no relaxing tools, no soothing techniques, just half effort massaging and constant scraping that felt like my skin was being torn up. Nothing about this was calming or therapeutic. It was miserable. What made it worse is that my sister in law, who booked the exact same 90 minute session and paid the same price, had a completely different experience. She received all the advertised accommodations and loved her service. I did not. Same booking, same length, wildly different treatment. I called to complain and requested a refund. They refused and instead offered a discount for another service, which makes zero sense since I do not live in state. Then they suggested giving the discount to my sister in law, who also lives out of state. Not sure how that benefits me at all. I asked them to simply refund my card for the amount of the discount they were offering. I was told they would ask and call me back. They never did. When I called again, they flat out refused to refund anything. Save your money and your scalp. Do not go here unless you want nine layers of skin scraped off your head and 90 minutes of pain instead of relaxation. This place is wildly inconsistent, unprofessional, and not worth the hype. read more
