5 stars all the way! Omar saw our "complicated" project, and let us know he could do it and was…read morehappy to take on a challenge. We are very happy with Omar and his company. I have done a lot of work over the years and am happy to say that if you live in this area, he is your guy. He was fair and honest from the get go. The price he gives you is the price you will pay. I never received any surprise "change orders". As contractors go, Omar was VERY open and communicative. No problems ever getting him or his crew on the phone. He had great suggestions on all things we discussed. Always seemed to know a lot about his work and various things people like. The project was a big one, and I am super happy with how fast it went. He even got started for us over Thanksgiving and Xmas, and his crew would show up on Saturday or Sunday sometimes to keep on working (which was fine with us!). There were no subcontractors involved... everything was through Noor Construction. If we had any minor issues that needed correcting, Omar would come and look at it and tell his crew what to do. We really appreciate the details, crown molding and trim was superbly done, and the tile was just amazing, we are very impressed with his team. I mean seriously anyone who has attempted to do crown molding in the past knows what I am talking about. For details if you've made it this far, our story: Where shall I start. I suppose we start with the idea: build a bedroom in the second floor space of our "great room" which has really tall ceilings... like 30 feet plus. So basically add a bedroom in the second story "empty space" above the first floor. Easy right? Well, after getting ghosted by several contractors, I finally called Omar. He informed he thought we were probably getting ghosted because the architect had told him that footings were needed to support this new bedroom which would be sort of like an island in the middle of the house. We live on a hill, so these support columns would have to go through the first floor, basement, and then under the house. This added to the cost, but we really wanted a bedroom in that space. Omar gave me a price. I told him no thanks, my wife and I thought well maybe we changed our mind as the cost came in higher with the footing work. After a few weeks, we talked it over, changed our minds. We really needed the bedroom. I called him, thinking "gosh he probably won't want our work". Omar came back, no change in price, same deal as before, he didn't even bat an eye, he was ready to go, and this was like 4 weeks later after I told him no. So yea, it was project that I was told was too much for people, everyone didn't want to go get permits or deal with the footings... Omar told us what to expect and stuck to the plan. He dealt with the County and the inspector always came and said even himself "these guys know what they are doing". We passed all inspections. Omar even was super flexible about adding things to the project as we went along, as you know I get ideas about what I might want, we added some carpeting and shelving, and additional tile work that he added at no additional cost to him. He really just knows what he is doing and is super on top of things. So go with Noor Construction if you have the chance, you won't regret it!

Update 1/26: Finally get a meeting scheduled with Gomer. One hour before the meeting I get an…read moreemail stating he has to reschedule. I didn't get a phone call, and was on my way home to have this meeting, I happened to open my email, and see that it was cancelled. I email and call, and finally the office personal connected me with Gomer. He states that I am responsible for getting the cracking and broken floors fixed from the subcontractor that Lawton hired. So again, the run around. After reaching out to the California Contractors State License Board, I have confirmed that this is the responsibility of Lawton, and not to be put on the homeowner. No one is getting back to me. Update 12/25: We never heard from Devon again about rescheduling, I checked in with her almost every other day tried calling tried texting tried emailing after two months of no response. Reached out to Gomer Masumbuko (COO). Let him know what was going on, he informed me that Devon Kelly had been let go from the company. I sent him all the texts I had from Devon. He said we would connect in two days. Weeks go by, I have to repeatedly attempt to connect with Gomer. Update 10/25: reached out, at least once a month, to get the work scheduled. I sent updated videos and photos of the pieces that were breaking more and more, and the new spots. We kept getting the runaround. Stated our concern that we were coming up on a year since the floor was finished. She said the floor was ordered and we set a date. We were canceled on the morning of. Update 2/25: Reached out to Devon, project manager, to let her know that the warranty work done in the original area (kitchen), by the subcontractor that Lawton had hired, was failing. Planks of the flooring are cracking and separating. Also, lots of loud popping and cracks. She confirm that that should not be happening, and was going to get it warrantied from Home Depot, where the flooring was purchased from. update (12/24): Our floors have been redone. I didn't think anything would come of leaving my review, but Lawton did try to make things right. The manager that helped us, Devon, was great. She was available to text, with questions, and wanted to make sure we were happy. She even scheduled additional work for us with the subcontractor that Lawton had hired to put the floors down in the warranty. Update: Since posting this review the COO has reached out and informed me that the crew, that worked on our home, no longer works for Lawton Construction. They are going to try to fix some of the things, that they can fix, and apologized for everything we went through. I will update this review once again, once the work is redone with a new crew, under Devon Kelly. Original review: Terrible, terrible, terrible! So many things went wrong with this company, and the job never got completed fully, and the craftman ship is awful. There is grout that is missing from tile on backsplashes. Workers didn't turn off water and had gallons of water that leaked into crawl space, so needed additional mitigation team, which of course they wanted my insurance company to pay for, even though it was THEIR mistake. Had to have industrial fans running for days, and had a $400 electric bill that WE had to pay. Was told the job was "small and would take minimal time to complete, 5 weeks"well 5 months later I had to hound them to get it finished. Would talk to one manager and get one story, and talk to another manager and get a compeletely different story. Learned that they didn't have employees for the job so they found others "who said they knew how to do the job". After job was completed they sent yet again another bill saying that they had mistakes on the other one and didn't account for certain things, also their fault! A year later, the grout is coming out of the tile and have to wear shoes or feet get cut on the tile.Towel rack coming out of wall, to discover that they didn't repair and paint the whole wall- they hung the hardware then painted around it. As we look closer we notice there is paint on the cabinets, or chipped from their tools, and most of the hardware in bathroom. Paint tape left. Floor tiles left chipped. Tack holes left. Smoke detector never hung back up. A corner of wall was never repaired at all, and there is just painters tape closing up the whole in the sheetrock. We had to paint and touch up kitchen walls and cabinets after they left. Hole behind backsplash was never filled, they just painted over it hoping we wouldn't notice. Tiles on floor/wall backsplash don't line up with the floor tiles. We can't use one of our floor vents, because they cut the tiles too big and had to hammer the vent shut to make it fit! So unprofessional all around, and looks like a high school trades class did the work, but charge top shelf. Would love to have all this work redone by someone else, but we don't have the funds to spend $30K, so we are stuck with it. As another review stated, don't walk from this company, RUN!

While the initial remediation crew was professional, the rest of the process has been unreliable. I would not recommend this company if you want work completed as promised.

Due to the water damage, I had a mix of restoration companies and general contractors. The restoration companies were far out of our budget because they go through a very lengthy process to remediate any mold. What I appreciated about JRD construction is they were not only affordable in their estimate but fair, honest, and flexible. I had some reservations about not going with a restoration company but Voss and his team assured me that if they found mold or more extensive water damage they could take the necessary steps to remediate it. They even brought a hepa filtration system as I wanted to take precautions with possible mold as they removed drywall. They checked in with us along the way and assured us there was no visible mold. To be cautious once they completed the project they put some mold killer on the wood in our attic that would be very costly to remove. They did great work and matched our ceiling texture really close. They even took care to put up and take down a protection barrier daily as we needed to get into our bedroom which was blocked by the work. I definitely recommend this company for remodeling or construction projects.

Unexpected damage was revealed after walls were opened up, which resulted in a longer completion time but all the work ended up finished.
