Lock City has apparently changed hands in the past year and it shows. The interior has undergone a renovation with a new long bar and better seating, TVs playing national and international sports and a wider beer menu. The list of beers has just about something for everyone, IPAs, Stouts, Lagers, Pils, etc. One of the new brewers was behind the bar when we were there and he was incredibly nice, helpful and attentive. Good music, a laid back atmosphere, and really good beer. All in all, a place worth visiting. And returning to visit. read more

A cool little brewery in Stamford. I had Lock City on my radar a few months ago, but didn't have the chance to check it out. I was at HaborFest a few weeks ago where they had a tent and decided it was time to try them. They were giving tasting samples of a few of their beers. One of the favorites was the their sour beer. I'm not into sours, but it quickly sold out. Instead, I got to try both the LAUNCH IPA and the Figure Four, which were both good. The next obvious thing to do was check out their tasting room/brewery location. It's in this industrial area, but not hard to find. The tasting room is on the smaller side. probably fits about 20-25 people max. There were a few tables both outside and inside. However, we found out that you couldn't take the beers outside. Not sure if it was the time of day (we went in the evening) or what. I ended up getting a flight, which I throughly enjoyed! They have a lot of different beers on rotation. A few that I can recall on the top of my head were a peanut butter stout, a sour (OGW), an OJ one, and a few others. There are a few parking spots in front and a lot down the street I think. They also have a bookshelf with a few games to keep yourself occupied if you wanted. Would definitely come back here with a few friends! read more

Either they've closed down permanently or they don't maintain their hours on their website, Google or here on Yelp. Came today (St Patty's Day) at 4PM when they're supposed to be open at 3PM according to all sites and it's locked down and nobody answering the phone after many tries. Sucks to drive an hour for a place that doesn't have the common courtesy to keep their customers informed of their hours or if they have shut down permanently. read more

Best brewery around these parts. Their focus has always been on solid, fresh and hazy NEIPAs though they make a pretty awesome Pilsner, Stouts and Sours too. Flagship beer is OJ on Parole, which is always a good choice. For something softer, Bugatti Spaceship. For something crisper try their single hop creations like Lock Citra. Nice hang in summer and their new food truck looks like it's going to be great. Nice people working there. What's not to love! read more

Low key. Hard to find. Chill atmosphere. A solid addition to the ever growing craft beer spots in lower Fairfield County. Pourers were knowledgeable and friendly. We did a flight of everything. There were like maybe 6 options. My favorite was the Shake your booty. Perfect summer IPA w slight fruit, smooth finish, hops don't punch you in the face but make a solid statement. Awesome little spot! Decent selection of beer and the staff was helpful. They have a few board games inside and a food truck was parked outside, not sure if the food truck is permanently there but it was a great addition to the space. Nearby is Riko's pizza, which makes an excellent small bar pie style of pizza - so can do a 1-2 combo or take in food. Really good hole in the wall brewery. They only have 5 or 6 beers going at a time so if you do a flight, you'll likely try them all. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about their product. You can bring your own food or have something delivered which I love. It's definitely a smaller place, but in the summer they open up the outside area and it's great! read more

So far so good. Lock city is brewing up some fresh stuff. Went on opening day on a Saturday afternoon after easily finding the spillover parking around the corner. The signs could be a bit bigger, but not a complaint in my books. The wait for a flight, growler or 10oz glass was about 30 minutes in this tightly packed garage space. Very much reminded me of waiting for beers in Red Hook or Gwanus. My one pet peeve during busier times is to free up the taps and not do growler fills. I'd love to take home some cans, but until that happens I'll stop by when its not too busy to fill a bottle. Otherwise its a nice space to sample a flight or enjoy some "mini pints" ($5/10oz) Plenty of games and dog friendly too. read more

The beer at lock city is great. The brewery is pretty small, so it can easily get crowded. The beer is New England style ipas and are reasonably priced $6 for a 13oz pour. They offer 6 or 7 different beers but they ran out of 2 during our visit so that was disappointing. They don't serve food but they do allow you to bring in outside food. Iock City offers some good juice bombs, although they all taste very very similar, like Relic. The brewery is tinnnny and gets filled with more than 10 people. Most of the brewers and owners here are very nice, although the one owner, tall guy, always has a stick up his butt. Seriously he is one of the rudest brewers ive ever met - i asked to try a sip of their new beer and wouldn't let me. There guys dont get it, there are amillion breweries around, so get your customer service together tall d bag guy. Ill be heading to other breweries with more space and a better experience. Quality IPAs . A note for the owner regarding the " beer hall" , dude you can't have one guy working on Sunday's ! My wife and I purchased one beer , not because we didn't want more but because every time I went to get another drink there was like 10 people on line ! At one point I counted more people in the hall without beers than with. You don't need a beer hall to be an effective brewery, but if you are going to have one , STAFF IT!!! read more

Finally. FINALLY! A chill brewery in Stamford that really cares about beer. These guys are obviously passionate and knowledgeable about their beers. Their rotation will appeal to hop heads as all but one of their offerings were IPAs one recent evening. Love a good brewery, especially local! Cool, very low key and chill spot - came here for the first time on a beautiful day - they had roped off some of the parking lot area and had lots of adult and kids games, including giant jenga and giant connect four, also pumpkin carving and coloring books and such. Kind of a weird location when you first arrive, seems like a garage on the side of the street surrounded by autobodys and shops, but it's actually in a quiet area and ends up being a good time. There's a small indoor area for sitting as well, four long high tops - nice because you can bring your own food, or even have food delivered and enjoy it with your beer. There was also a food truck outside, always fun. Smart choice to have people buy $5 tickets at the door and exchange them for the beer at the counter to save time and make it easier. Beers are a little small for $5 but they are good! Definitely have to try the pumpkin beer this season with the cinnamon sugar honey around the rim of the cup. So I've got to say I found this place a few months ago and I do like the beer. I went in there today to get a growler but they were having an event to showcase their beer and being in customers but they wouldn't sell me a growler because of the event. I come in every week and buy at least 2 growlers and the owner Mike gave me every excuse (which didn't make sense) and simply didn't want to do it. I told him he was losing a customer and he said "I sent a memo" and I told him I didn't get a memo I just wanted to buy beer. After going in a circle I decided I really didn't need the growler and he decided he didn't need the customer. .i wonder if Mike realizes he didn't just lose one customer he lost all my friends that come in and he lost all the future customer I would have sent in. I gave these guys high reviews before and wish hey would have been successful now I know there is no way they will be around for long. Customer service is as important as the quality of the product. I strongly support small local businesses that appreciate the customers that support them. read more
